History

Established in 1977.

Marie Sue earned her real estate license in 1977 just prior to having her third child, Stephanie. Starting at Sunset, she eventually moved to Prudential Jon Douglas which was later purchased by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. As a busy working mom, she frequently took Stephanie with her while holding Sunday open houses or touring weekday broker opens. This allowed Stephanie to learn the ins and outs of real estate at a very early age. After Stephanie graduated from college at UCSB, the two teamed up once again to form the respected mother-​daughter team it is today.

If Unilocal allowed me to give Stephanie Young more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. As a realtor, Stephanie was a dream come true. Stephanie is professional but not too stuffy, extremely knowledgable but didn’t act like a know-​it-​all, and truly had our best interests in mind. We never once felt like she was just trying to make a sale. She was supportive, asked good questions, and help guide us through the overwhelming and scary process of buying our first home. We were very picky about the house we wanted, which meant that poor Stephanie went to what seemed like a million showings with us, and she always did so with a smile on her face. I am happy to say that she helped us find the perfect home for our growing family, and throughout the process she has become a friend. Stephanie helped us find a condo in Santa Barbara. Stephanie was so very patient with us. We knew what we wanted as far as layout and location and we saw many possibilities but had to hold out until we found a price that we felt was a good value. Stephanie always greeted us with a smile and was amazing at showing us properties that met our criteria, and she never try to push on us properties that compromised key things. She is excellent at following up on details and was prepared with contacts for the various other professionals that we had to deal with such as inspectors, lenders, title and escrow, which is a huge help for out of town purchasers. She really knows the Santa Barbara market and was a big help in looking at the details of the property and pointing us toward things we should be aware of.
