La Playa Surf Academy

Our daughter had a lesson with Jeff today. After a short introduction, they were in the water at Campus point. Jeff was very nice and friendly, gave lots of great advice and corrections. Our daughter managed to stand up and ride waves several times!
When we are back to Santa Barbara, we will have another lesson again!

My three daughters (16,14,10) wanted to take a surf lession while on vacation.
What a great find La Playa turned out to be!!! The girls learned quick and were catching waves right away. Jeff and Yesie had as much fun teaching them as they had learning to surf, you could really see they love what they do!!!
They even sent us some of the photos they took during the lesson.
Highly recommend La Playa Surf Academy.

I took a surf lesson over 4^th of July weekend with La Playa Academy and it was a great experience! They were extremely helpful and made it easy to learn. You can tell surfing is their passion.
La Playa made my surf lesson so fun and memorable. I can’t wait to go back and take advantage of their group lessons with friends!

One of the best instructors ever !! I can’t even swim but I learned to surf !! The instructor Jeff is so patient and so willing to help you learn, it’s great, and his gf who also teaches is also extremely nice and makes an awesome teacher ! It’s really a hands on learning experience, and I was surprised I could ride a wave at the end of the lesson. Definitely one of the best experiences guided by some talented surfers! Can’t wait for my next lesson !!!

Took a surf lesson a week ago with La playa Surf Academy and loved it. I am not a big fan of the ocean but my girlfriend convinced me that I need to step out of my comfort zone of wining and dining. I thought hmmm exercise, outdoors so I can tan my fair fair skin, and learn to do something that takes coordination and cool points with the girlfriend. Well these guys took that uncoordinated, out of shape, and uncomfortable man and successfully got him riding his first wave! What an experience let me tell you. Being out in the ocean, not knowing a thing, and being able to accomplish something you always thought not possible is what these guys helped me succeed with. Thanks again guys for the solid attitude, information, and techniques. Cant wait to get back in the waters of Santa Barbara!

La Playa Surf is awesome. This was my first time taking a surfing lesson and the instructor, Jeff, was great. I’m so out of shape and very uncoordinated but they helped me and I was able to go out into the water and catch some waves by the end of my first lesson. I was super nervous learning to surf and going out into the ocean but they were able to make me feel super comfortable every step of the way, from the beginning to end. They are so willing to help you become a better surfer and you could really tell they genuinely wanted to see you succeed as a surfer with each lesson. I would hands down recommend La Playa to any one who is interested in having an awesome surfing experience.

I am 54 years old and love the water but I am afraid of swimming in the ocean. I was on vacation and decided it was time to push myself and learn something new. I looked at several surf schools but I was drawn to La Play Surf Academy because the instructors are very friendly and encouraging even for someone my age. We started with stretching followed by practicing getting up on the board while on the sand. I thought it was really good to start with the stretches to prevent injuries and to help me to relax. I had a really good time. I would recommend La Playa Surf Academy and instructors Jeff and Yese. I am looking forward to surfing again in Santa Barbara
