Very honest with both their estimates and prices. I needed some work done that others had quoted as being as high as $ 600, and Scott at Kennedy’s was able to get it done for $ 250 in less than a day. He even gave me a small lesson about the particular engine part that went bad so I’d know what to do next time. These guys run a solid business and put service above profit.

I took my truck to Kennedy’s about 7 years ago for the first time. I was then a loyal customer for a couple of years. Then, in 2010, I moved to San Diego. I just moved back to SB after a few years there, and took my truck in again the other day for a general check-​up and maintenance visit. They had my truck for the day and checked the brakes, transmission, and general running condition of the truck. They found nothing wrong, and then gave me an amazing deal on this work. I trust Kennedy’s probably more than any other shop I’ve taken my cars/​trucks to over the years. Trusted and highly recommended!

I have been taking my BMW to Kennedys for 5 years now. Mike at Kennedys Automotive is the best and most honest mechanic I’ve ever met. I recommend Mike and Kennnedy’s to all my friends and family.

I went in for a smog check and everything was completely up to par with his advertised service online — $ 32 out the door and it might have even taken less than ten minutes. They definitely understand the importance of good service and I plan on getting any mechanical work done there as well.

I would give 0 stars if possible. This is long overdue. A few years back I went there on a recommendation since my car jeep cherokee kept over heating. They charged me about $ 600. I knew it had been fully serviced by a dealership in Northern CA within a few months so I called them regarding the part they charged me for and they they gave me the serial number. Low and behold, it was still in there. I went back to ask for the part and the guy seemed to be in a complete panic. He even try to give me a coupon for See’s candy. Yes, I got my refund, and no, I will never ever go back or tell anyone to go there.

Kennedy’s Auto was the only mechanic who was able to diagnose a problem with the wiring harness on my 93 Lexus LS. Others had told me it was the throttle position sensor, or the ECM (computer). Fixing those thing did not solve the issue. I think they may have subbed out the work to lexus specialists, but if they did they got the best ones. They solved my numerous small problems, and did it for a great price. Informed me of what may need to be fixed in the future, but did not push me to get more work done than was needed. Highly recommended. If you need a mechanic in Santa Barbara, this the is place to go to!

I owe these guys a long overdue review. A little about me, female college student that drives a pretty big truck for her size. Going to an auto mechanic is the last thing i want to do, especially that I’m not mechanically inclined and getting screwed over for an unnecessary service is everyone’s worst nightmare. ALL I wanted was an honest shop that not only had good customer service but mechanics that were willing to educate the customer/​vehicle owner. I needed to figure out why my Silverado kept stalling on me, so thanks to a co-​worker who recommended these guys I stopped by to speak with Mike (the owner). I told him the symptoms and right off the bat it seemed like he automatically diagnosed the truck without even looking at it. He talked about the service he would perform (fuel throttle body cleaning), which should fix the stalling problem and he also gave me a quote. He told me to stop by the next morning when they open to drop off the truck, which i did. The guys took me in pretty quick but the truck wasn’t being looked at right away seeing as they are a pretty busy and reputable shop. Though my truck took a little longer in the shop than expected, the mechanics kept me posted whenever i checked in. Finally, I picked up my truck later in the day and the guys briefed me on the service they performed and did a couple test drives before handing it back over. I was charged the quoted amount and I haven’t had my truck stall on me since. I highly recommend giving these guys a try especially if you are wary of going into auto repair shops, these guys have been here for a while and know what they’re doing. I plan on going to this shop for future servicing.

I have finally found an honest and reasonably priced mechanic! Being a woman it’s hard to find a mechanic that won’t rip you off. Mike at Kennedy’s is trustworthy and never overcharges. I always feel so comfortable taking my car to him.
