Our «boutique» studio offers both Personal/Private Training as well as a full Class Schedule (Semi-Private Training). Classes are small to ensure proper form and technique and maximum results, They include the following programs: Xercizer (Reformer), Mat, Yoga, Spinning, Bar, TRX & Circuit.
Our Personal Training options are wide, we can work with the Post Operative patient all the way to the extreme athlete. There are specialized IM=X formats designed for weight loss, athletes, pregnancy, golf and people with back pain.
Our studio offers Personal Training Packages, Drop In Rates for Classes and Semi-Private Training Memberships so that you can receive the attention of a certified trainer without the price of one-on-one sessions plus unlimited reformer (Xercizer)
History
Established in 2007.
For more than 16 years, IM=X® Pilates has been an innovator in the pilates, fitness, yoga and back care industries. IM=X (Integrated Movement Xercize) is a new generation of pilates reformer and cardio inspired workouts enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of exercise enthusiasts who proclaim its «immediate results»! Founder, Elyse McNergney, created IM=X to offer a total fitness approach — one that integrates pilates exercises with strength and cardiovascular training.
The IM=X® Pilates vision grew out of Elyse’s certifications in traditional pilates and the Alexander Technique, a M.A. in Movement Science and a M.Ed. in Exercise Physiology from Columbia University. Elyse and the IM=X® Master Trainer team have extensive experience training and rehabilitating professional athletes, dancers and patients with back pain. Chanda F.
Business Owner
A Santa Barbara resident since 1991, Chanda has a continued passion for fitness and those striving for better health! Prior to moving here she worked as a Professional Ballet Dancer with the Sacramento Ballet. Throughout that time, she trained with Ballet West Colorado, San Francisco Ballet, and Boston Ballet. Her experiences in dance naturally progressed into the Fitness Industry where she took a job with Gold’s Gym both as Group X Instructor and eventually Group X Director for all the clubs in the Santa Barbara area. Chanda was the Director of Group X Program for over 10 years and during that time, built a relationship with IM=X Pilates Inc. She brought IM=X Pilates to Santa Barbara, became certified in all their programming and loved it so much, she eventually became a Master Trainer for IM=X Pilates Inc., which enables her to certify and continually educate instructors around the world.
