H&R Block

Of course I waited until the last minute to do my taxes so I poped into H&R and it has been a great experience! John helped me and was not only great to work with but really funny!

My review is for one of the tax accountants who works at this particular location– Rosmarie. I had scheduled an appointment with her two weeks ago. When I arrived to the office, she was on the phone with another client. She coulld have easily gotten off the phone by saying that she had an appointment and will call the client back later/​. Instead she continued speaking to the client on the phone for 30 minutes. Since I was there on my lunch break, I didn’t have time to wait for her to finish my taxes. So Rosmerie suggested that I leave my taxes with her and that she would call me later that day so that I could pick them up. It is now 2 weeks later and I still have not heard from her. I called yesterday and someone told me that she was with a client and that Rosmerie didn’t have voicemail. So I left my contact information with Maria and I have yet to hear from Rosmerie.

This review is actually for the 3617 State permanent office of H&R Block. (I think the one from Juan A. is, too.) I worked with John W at this office, and he was not only very nice, but conscientious beyond belief, and straightened out several years’ worth of tax mess I’d gotten myself into out of cluelessness. I feel very secure with the returns he’s amended and then (for 2008) filed for me; he’s very experienced, knows the new laws as well as longstanding ones well, and is a straight-​shooter. (In other words, I don’t think he’d do anything sketchy on my behalf that would get me in trouble down the line.) Thanks, John.
