Fancy Floors

Fancy Floors did a great job refinishing our hardwood floors. They were courteous and clean, had very good suggestions, and were reasonable in price. Also, their showroom in downtown SB is very helpful to see the types of flooring that you could install.
The only reason I don’t give a 5-​star rating is that it was very hard to get them to communicate with us on a second part of the job (installing new hardwood floors in a room). Tim stopped by several times to look at our floors, but we had to ask multiple times to get a bid from him. Then the bid wasn’t detailed, excluded several items where the price wasn’t known, and was higher than the other company that we ended up hiring. That’s okay, no harm done, we went with the other company. I still recommend Fancy Floors.

Not a smooth experience with these people; all way too short-​tempered. Tim Marquez (owner) was too busy to return phone calls, and everyone seemed to come up with an excuse. So as homeowners forget about using this business (there are many others around that would welcome a client). Finally, our busy contractor (who had suggested Fancy Floors because they’re usually cheaper) had it all quickly arranged with them, and the wood floors were finally ordered and installed. However, the mess left behind was incredible (including mastic spots all over the flooring which were too hard to remove later on). Ryan, the main installer was a nice guy but rather careless or unmotivated. They are to be handled by contractors, not by the homeowners directly. Would really not recommend this service again.

We looked and looked for floors that we liked at Home Depot, Lowes, and online (even getting a bunch of online samples). We tried a place in Carpinteria too. Then a friend who is a flooring installer recommended we go to Fancy Floors just to see what is out there. Their selection is amazing, pricing is very fair when you consider their customer service, quality and selection. We ended up with the California Collection «Montecito», the quality and look is simply amazing. Our installer said the floor is some of the best he has worked with. At the end of the day what we have learned is that the big box stores might not have the style or quality you are looking for and that you can shop online trying to get a deal until you are blue in the face and still end up with nothing. We are so glad that we found Fancy Floors and were able to support a local company.
