Westpark Family Dental Office

Great place to get your teeth cleaned. I walked right in no appointment required. I got better service at this dental clinic than I would have gotten at any cheesy spa place. Yes, I do find getting my teeth assessed and cleaned to be relaxing :)
What a deal 30 $ for dental cleaning by the DENTIST, not a hygienist, also included X-​rays! I received a thorough dental assessment, including a free goodie ORAL B bag full dental products, not the crappy stuff, they sell in Canada. I got mini orthodontic devices in my mouth so my oral hygiene needs special care so I will definitely recommend this place to my local friends.
To summarize my experience :
Fast & thorough; that is how a doctor visit should be. I know this because I am a nurse that works with a lot of specialized doctors.

This Dr is honest and has a staff that makes you feel good about getting your teeth fixed. I’ve had so many dentists charge me for work not needed. Dr G takes the time to explain and answer all your questions. The staff works hard to make it an affordable process as well. So glad I was recommended to this place

This office is really awsome. a few months ago I was having the worst pain late in the day on my wisdom teeth. I was called around to many offices and they were either closed for the day or was referring me to the emergency room! Like they can pull my teeth there. Anyway the staff at Westpark took me in eventhough it was their closing time. I really appreciated that and I felt like they really cared.
I got in and was seen right away. The doctor said I needed two wisdom teeth out and that he can do it for me right there and then! He took them out with absolutely no pain! He was so gentle and attentive and fast!
I know this because I got the two on the other side out a year before that with an oral surgeon and he was very rude and rough. The staff couldn’t care less and I paid 3 times what I paid Westpark! What a joke! I was in agony for a whole week and when I called to get some more pain medicine they said I had to come in to get it and they charged me for that visit too!!!
I am so glad I found this office. The staff are super friendly and caring. They get you in and out fast. Since then I’ve been there a few times because of my cavities and gum infection that i’ve been neglecting. Evnthough I saw 3 different doctors, they were all really good and gentle. That’s another thing is that in other offices, differrent dentists do different things but at Westpark all of them were good.
And like I said their prices were very good (I shopped around for the other work that I needed), and they had financing and was able to qualify me eventhough I don’t have good credit.
Don’t get me wrong. I hate going to the dentist. Before my wisdom teeth I haven’t been to the dentist for about 8 years. But this is the first time that I felt comfortable getting work done. I really felt like I was taken very good care of and that I can trust them. I also took my two girls there for a check up and they were fantastic with them!
Don’t let the fact that they are in Santa Ana fool you (or the old building that they are in). It’s not fancy but inside it’s clean, warm and neat. I don’t care about a fancy office if the people are no good. I honestly think that they charge less because they are in Santa Ana and not in Irvine or Newport Beach (by the way there’s another office in Irvine that has the same name but it’s not this office)
Anyway, anybody out there who are looking for a good dentist, especially if you hate going, I would recommemd this office any day of the week. In fact you would be stupid not to try them out.
And oh! Did I mention that they don’t charge for exams and x-​rays for new patients?

I have been to this dentist office off and on for the last 7+ years. I can’t praise them enough for being so nice, professional, sooo honest and fair!
For the last 3 years, I was with another dentist office (SmileCare Family Dentistry — I selected them because they’re less than 5 minutes from my house — bad reason) who so many times gave me such an excessively expensive quote for services they claimed was not covered by my insurance. For example: This month, Oct. 2009, my daughter needed to have her space maintainer/​spacer removed. Because Smilecare did not put the the spacer in, they told me it’s not covered by my DHMO insurance and quoted me $ 545 out of my pocket to remove. $ 545 for a 30-​second simple procedure (I’ve seen it done with my other daughter)!!! Of course I was shocked and did not elect to have them provide such service! I called West Park Dental for a quote for this same service and stated that it will be uninsured since I have my DHMO coverage elsewhere. They asked me to bring my daughter in to see the spacer, and quoted me $ 45! A $ 500 difference! And I confirmed this is the amount for any patient, not because my daughter was a patient from 4+ years ago!
And this is not the 1^st time. My older daughter’s spacer fell loose a few years ago and I asked if SmileCare could glue it back on. Similar issue, not covered by insurance, I can’t remember exact amount of quote but in the hundreds — really, how hard to reglue the spacer back on (it’s not like they had to order another spacer) ! I couldn’t believe the price, so I called West Park, who only charged me $ 50! (I should have switched dental coverage at this point, now that I look back)
I just want people to realize that you should definitely get 2 quotes on dental services, and you should scrutinize their bill. I’m just so upset at how SmileCare could charge such an astronomical amount, and of course amazed and thankful I have West Park to come to my rescue.
I was with West Park from 2002 – 2005, great service with the office, but switched dental office because having 4 little kids made this office too far to visit. As mentioned above, I visited them twice after 2005, when Smilecare didn’t come through. Now that my kids are older, and I have experiences that allow me to appreciate/​miss West Park, I’m going back to PPO and taking my service back to this dental office who I can trust.
