SICA Construction

SICA has done several projects for us over many years, and we love using them for small or large projects. They helped us get our condo remodeled for selling it and it looked fantastic. Their work really helped us get value from that sale so we could buy our next house — a fixer upper. The work they did on the new property transformed it into our dream home. They created a new bathroom that is the envy of our friends, made us an under-​the-​stairs closet, custom entertainment center, created new walls and installed doors, and installed recessed lighting. They are always friendly, trustworthy, and professional. It is such a relief to have a team you can trust with your home! They do great work and they even gave us tips on how to save money while we did some of our own remodeling projects! We are happy to recommend them and also to keep using them for our remodeling or repair needs. Thanks Simeon, Kevin, and Mark!

SICA has done several projects at our home. (remodeling of two baths, converted a bedroom into a den by removing walls, installed glazed windows throughout the house, etc. Simeon and his workers– including his wife, Annie– are able and thorough. It was a pleasure to work with the SICA folks!

My wife and I have used SICA Construction since before there was Unilocal, and I can’t believe I haven’t thought to write a review of this firm ’till now. However, five Unilocal stars aren’t enough to adequately reward owner Simeon Padurean for his outstanding construction, re-​modeling and maintenance help over the last ten years at our hillside, semi-​rural home in Pleasanton, CA. We first encountered SICA when converting a spare bedroom into an in-​home office area. Since that time we’ve done major re-​modeling projects including installation of new kitchen cabinets, lighting, plumbing, and flooring. The flooring project involved re-​enforcement of the sub floor prior to installation of large tiles in the kitchen, family room, dining areas, living room and guest bath, and it involved working in a circle beginning in the living room and around back to the starting point. Frankly, I was uneasy about being able to match up grout lines at the finish, particularly when dealing with a 20+ year old house where nothing remains «square». However, Simeon was able to lay the last tiles without missing by a hair. I was astonished! Our most recent major renovation project involved replacement of a large wooden deck and porch on the front side of the house. We chose to rebuild using Brazilian ipe hardwood and stainless steel screws. This proved to be a monumental and labor intensive project, but it was executed with precision and exceptional workmanship. Simeon’s artistic design of the railings brought notable beauty to the finished job and favorable compliments from all our neighbors. Unfortunately, we suffered a major two story flood in the summer of 2011 as a result of the failure of a whole house filter at 4:00AM. SICA construction was awarded the repair contract by my insurance company as it was lower than their estimate of repairs, and I’m pleased to note that this disaster was thoroughly and completely rectified by Simeon and his helpers. As a final note, I’d like to point out that SICA construction has even responded to two emergency, late night calls for assistance. The first was a burst water supply pipe inside an exterior wall which was quickly isolated and repaired. The second was the opening up of an interior wall to extract my son’s new and curious kitten which had somehow managed to climb into a «void». SICA to the rescue. Hands-​on involvement, and craftsmanship are the hallmarks of SICA Construction. I can’t recommend this firm more highly.

I have had the SICA team work on several projects at my home over the past few years. One involved installing a skylight and a sun tunnel. As part of that, they also reframed an area of the house that was not adequately supported before, replaced and updated recessed lighting and rewired the kitchen. Later, I had the team retile my master bathroom. We have been very happy with the work performed and will work with the team again.
