Kathy’s Nails

I would like to start off by saying that I have never had my nails professionally done with acrylics, but the service I have had here was amazing! I’ve been here before for gel nails, but last month I felt like trying something new and got a full set for my college graduation ceremony and party!
It was a Wednesday evening and they were pretty busy but very accomodating. I had a French pedicure done and a full manicure set. Diane did the acrylics and I let her know it was my first time and she was very nice in letting me know what she was doing as I was asking her a bunch of questions! She let me know that it was good she was doing them as she has 20+ years of experience, which comforted me. I’ve heard stories of your nails being sore afterwards but mine felt great.
Fast forward 3 weeks, (last week) and I decide to get a fill. I came on a Thursday evening and they weren’t too busy. Cici did my fill this time and was very nice and attentive as I asked more questions.
Overall I had a pleasant experience and will continue to come back! This will be my new go-​to nail salon! Thank you Diane and Cici for a great experince!

Her salon is recently remodeled and it looks great! Prices are reasonable! Definitely would recommend this place!!! They offer many services such as manis, pedis, waxing and eyelash extensions!

Been coming here for years, always do as I ask and never been disappointed! Do a very good job from when you enter and leave, great service. Rarely ever wait to be seen and greet you as you walk in and ask what you like and after your done they help you with your shoes if you get a pedi and ask if you like it. They are more than accommodating. They also just remodel the whole place looks great!

Diane has been doing my nails for years she knows what I like and the vibe is chill even with the customers. She does a amazing job ever time! Thank u Diane!

Please don’t go to this place to get your nails! Today I decided to go to Kathy Nails since the usual spot I go to was closed. I called to ask until what time they were open and the lady stated 7:30 — 8:00 PM, so I had enough time to go and make sure if they had any customers they would help me out. The lady who was doing my gel nails apparently was in a rush trying to go home. My nails felt sharp, she messed up one of the nails also the lady who was doing my pedicure did not even massage my feet, anyhow I would never go back to this place I’m paying for a service and this has been the worst service ever. I still even gave them a tip for courtesy since I know that’s what they do for living.

Going to Saddleback H. S, back in the day this is where everyone n their damm momma went… and we alllll had the same ghetto ratchet designs on those horrible ass duck feet nails (yeah i know some of you girls still rockin that shit) however let me tell you this was the spot to go to. I continued going for a couple years after i graduated and would get them done by Kayla in station 3 and she always got down i was forever getting compliments on my extravagant nails. I did pay about $ 80 everytime for em. Havent been their for a while i aint into those style of nails anymore but i do still see the saaaaame girls going tho, and getting them duck feet with ‘Louis Vuitton’ design! lmao.

Kathy’s nails is overpriced. As the years go by their prices increase more and more. I stopped coming here because of their prices and because all they wanted to do on clients was duck nails. I actually went back a week ago and again I told Diane to do regular nails for me and she ended up giving me a duck nail look. I only come here when I really have to and there’s no other place to go, I do give them. Props because they still use the plastic bags for pedicures which is a plus to avoid nail fungus.

I absolutely love this place! I first started coming over a year ago because a girlfriend told me they do eyelashes for cheap. I would not recommend listening to any of these other comments complaining about losing your real eye lashes. If you ladies actually do some research before getting them done you’ll know how to take them off correctly and not blame the girls at the salon. All you have to do is take a hot shower and with a little baby oil. The stream and oil take the extensions right off without any pain or damage to your real lashes. Also if you ask Hana she explains very well how to make them last, mine last for almost 3 weeks and it only cost $ 17. I also get my acrylics done there as well. Although all the girls are great here and very welcoming, I would definitely have to recommend my girl HANA she is amazing! I like trying so many different styles for my nails and every time I go in to see Hana she is prefect. She is very sweet and patient. If I bring in a picture or even just describe how id like it she hits it spot on. Everything from a simple French tip, to claws and even blinged out nails she is the girl for the job. Over all the place is a little sketch but has amazing service.

I came in with my little sis. she wanted her nails done for her big trip to vegas … anywase she told me her friends say tat this place was cheap n very good in blinging ur nails… i forgot the lady who did her nails name anywase my sister show her the design she wanted n the lady was telling her oh no tats no pretty do this n that… being my sister who doesnt talk bac say ok… she even got the gel becu the lady told her it will LAST note i say LAST longer than regular… n that she will give her a very good prize… there wasnt much bling on it the nails really and it didnt pop like how she insist it will be n she charged her 70 bucks. i paid becuz this was my gift to her but i was pissed off… wid that 70 she could have gone to a place that have the stuff to do her nails … they dnt have large rhinestone. just the small lil one…

Her nails didnt even last her!! her index nails came off the nxt day! Some where beginning to lift already! The lil jewel on her nails were missing… wtf! R u serious? This is the kind of job u do n charge someone so much…
Well never come bac here ever… they can take tat money n shoved it up their ass… we even tip her … if u want lousy nails tat falls out come here… they r overpriced! Theres not a fixes price they charge as they go… n make up the price just because they want more money… i would never rate this even a 1 star but i had no choice… this place deserve a 0!!!

Oh, this spot is like my dirty little secret. The way i feel about this place is how i imagine someone would feel about their hooker. Ashamed, yet you feel like bragging… Its kinda dirty, kinda hidden, a little weird, and just ghetto enough.
I love the designs, the 3D art is superb, and the longevity of the nails is unbelievable. Literally. My usual nail lady (far far away from Kathy’s) had such a hard time taking off my last set from Kathy’s, that she threatened to never see me again, and charged me extra for the hassle.
THEY DONT COME OFF, BE AWARE. Plus your real nails are prettty wrecked after, too.
The english spoken there is marginal and varies from each nail tech.
I’d never get a pedicure there, they dont have any spa chairs or really very clean tools. They keep their drill heads in a beat up altoid box, and there isnt bleach or any cleaning products anywhere in sight.
BUT THE NAILS, THOUGH! SOOOOO AMAZINGLY TACKY! I have never been able to get «Duck feet» style nails anywhere else.
So, if youre looking for a tacky and amazingly ghetto-​fab set of bejeweled claws, sneak in. If you’re looking for class, clients that wont mad dog you while you’re minding your own business, and clean classic nails, call elsewhere.

Old lady at station number 4 is awful!!! I’ve NEVER gotten a worse manicure!!! I came so close to walking out so many times!!! But I kept hoping that it would get better.
Bad Signs:
1. No OPI, China Glaze, or even Essie! Everything was cheap brands you bought when you didn’t know better.
2. Almost empty at 6pm.
3. All their stuff was oooold looking!
The lady didn’t know how to take off my gel acrylics and kept filing even after I told her that I need to soak off my nails. She didn’t use cuticle softener on my other hand. She didn’t use a bonder. Her top coat was caked with old top coat and cotton threads. And the edges of the polish look ragged!!! I’m leaving now and getting my nail polish changed somewhere else!!! Save your money and go somewhere else!!!

I’m actually REALLY surprised I’m the first to review… Well maybe cuz it’s in the hood, but don’t let that deter you, for goodness sakes yer going to get yer nails done during the day and it’s a REALLY busy shopping center that has done a lot of remodeling. And no you don’t need to trip about the clientele either, no chola gangsters, just happens to be a neighborhood spot. So if you ain’t scurd, This spot GETS DOWN with acrylics!!! They are five stars with acrylics, the only reason I rated them a three is I stopped getting acrylics cuz they are an expensive habit and mess up yer nails anyways. Do NOT get a pedicure here!!! There is one old lady that does them and always cuts yer nails down really short, and then files em down as if they needed to be with how short she cuts them. She also does a shitty design job whether it’s a flower or French. I have had to have other girls come over and redo the design cuz the French was different every other toe. The girls didn’t seem surprised either so I don’t know if this lady is the owners mom or something that they keep her around, or if they figure 98% percent of their clientele come for acrylics. So acrylic spot? HELL YEA! Pedi spot? HELL NOOOOO.
