H&R Block

Very disorganized. They go so fast and so many people, that you just hope it’s accurate. It’s like a factory with very little personal attention. Won’t go back.

Several days ago I made an appointment online, yesterday I received a confirmation call. I accidentally went to the wrong location and they told me where to go. When I showed up, they were closed. I tried calling the number they called me from and got no response. I went back to the first location and they checked in the system that my appointment was at the time I said and verified that my appointment was confirmed. They nicely worked me into their schedule at the last minute.
While in the middle of doing my taxes with Rosa, I posted the original version of this post, and the manager from the closed location called me. He said «Hi this is (whatever his name was) from H&R Block. I just wanted to call and let you know that we closed at 5:30 but we made a special acception for you and we’re open again.»
I said «Well I’m at another location getting my taxes done.»
He responded with «–exasperated huff– well thanks for choosing H&R Block.» And hung up.
Of all the nerve! There were so many better ways to handle this whole situation on their part. The ladies at the second location said he’s been known to have an attitude.

I do not recommend this place at all I came in here for a little information about a tax issue I had it was a very quick question and nobody wanted to help me they want me to make an appointment come back on a day I understand you guys are busy but come on now have some compassion so I went down the street to some other guy and he took 2 minutes out of his day and let me know what I need a file thanks a lot H&R Block for what nothing you guys are good for nothing and its funny how every day I see two or three commercials on TV about H&R Block

I’ve been coming to this location for several years now. This year I filed with a young woman, I don’t know if she is new to the company… her name is Bianca. I filed my taxes early (in January), I received my federal return in the second week of February. My issue is that it is now mid March and I still have not received my State refund I even checked the CA website, it keep giving me «no record found.» On Monday March 24^th I decided to schedule an appointment to find out why the delay. I asked Bianca, «why is my state refund taking so long?» Her response, «The IRS put a hold on a small group of refunds, you may be part of that group… Also can you sign these documents?» I then asked her, «Are you just now filing my State refund?» Her response «No this is for my records.» I went home… woke up next morning checked the CA website it read, «IRS accepted your state refund on March 24^th.» I could not believe it… this so called tax professional just sat there and lied to my face! She should of covered her butt a little better. A simple I made a mistake goes a long way… the nerve of this girl! I won’t be back to this location!

lets begin with, «HR Block finds money others miss!» so i walk into HR Block with the mindset of a «myth-​buster,» trying to prove if HR Block will walk the walk or if it was all talk… I get called up by Miss Bianca.
The first thing I did was: bombard her with questions. I asked about an hours’ worth of questions about the smallest and the most obvious details and Bianca, being professional, and knowledgeable, answered all my questions compassionately. She backed up her responses with details and experiences. Within the first 10 minutes of getting questions answered, I felt confident HR Block is the spot! especially if your tax preparer is Miss Bianca.
I ended up walking out of HR Block with an exceptionally larger than usual tax return, I got into my car, closed the door and was like «O-​M-​G, did that just happen?» LOL, long story short, HR Block walks the walk, they find money others miss! Even if they might be a little pricey, you can pay for it with the hidden money that is already entitled to you which you might not have ever seen! Consult Miss Bianca B. for the best experience.

Being that my taxes only required the simple 1040ez form, and H&R block was offering a special discount to do I decided to have my taxes done here. I made an appointment w/​Julie who was very nice, professional, and quick. She informed me of new laws that were taking effect in 2014, carefully explained to me all the paperwork, as well as my refund. She was efficient in doing the work, I left feeling very satisfied and plan to come back here next year.
Minus one star because the ad on H&R block says FREE preparation for 1040ez… the federal is free, but where they get you is by charging you to do the state tax return.
