I have gone here a couple times now, I see Tracey. She’s great with me. BUT my mother in law, who I brought here recently, just spent $ 25 for a whole lot of nothing. She had a full set put on 2 weeks before and when she went back, she wanted to get them fixed because they grew out. She didn’t know what it was called and didnt understand what could be done so she literally had them taken off, then had a french tip manicure done with GEL when the girl could’ve literally done a fill and saved my mother in law $ 10. It’s her job, she could’ve just been like«no ma’am I can just fill it». I’ve had lots of nail ladies try to help me out on saving money in the past. But to me it sounds inconsiderate of this chick, my mother in law cleans houses. Money isn’t something that she has a lot of and when she does she expects it to be worth it. Not only did the girl not recommend a cheaper alternative, a day later the gel chipped. $ 25 and the stuff chips?!? They have a «7 day guarantee» on gel so when my mother in law went back, they asked who did it and she said«Linn(maybe wrong spelling but you get the idea)». The lady tells her«she’s not here today, we’ll make you an appointment and you come back tomorrow». Did I mention my mother in law doesn’t drive and doesn’t have a car? Yeah. So she goes home and makes her way back the next day after riding the bus home from work, Linn is busy and said she’d be with her right after she finished with who she was working on. This is during my mother in laws supposed appointment. So my mother in law waits an hour and a half. Linn keeps helping the customers friends or family, whomever it was she brought. It probably wouldn’t even have taken 10 minutes to fix her nail but since she wouldn’t make money off it, she couldn’t bother herself to stop taking other people on DURINGMYMOTHERINLAWS«APPOINTMENT»!!! So my mother in law stands up and is about to scream, but she decides to calmly walk out the door(no one even tries to stop her). She goes to the dollar store, buys some white nail polish and clear gel, and fixes it herself at home. Literally makes me so angry I don’t even want to go back here to get my nails done anymore, and I plan on getting a fill every 2 weeks plus a pedi once a month. But if all your trying to do is rob people maybe it’s worth it for me to start looking elsewhere. I guess words of warning unless your going to be aggressive, because they’ll walk all over you otherwise. I would have given 0 stars if possible. So disappointed.

This was my first time going to this place and I decided to try it because my co-worker is always getting a mani-pedi and she said they do an awesome job here so I decided to give it a try. I was greeted super nicely as I walked in, everyone seemed nice and then a lady asked what I wanted to get done today? And I said I just want gel color because that’s what I normally get its rare when I get an actual mani, anyways so I sat down the nail tech took her time and I absolutely love the color and they way she did my nails, I mean I wasn’t getting anything fancy just color, by the way GEL color usually last about 21−23days. I just got my nails done this Thursday November 12, 2015 and two days later I saw my nails and the GEL was chipped off! I was so bummed out! This never happens when I get them done at other nail salons. So that’s why I’m writing a review. I want to go back and see if they can fix them bc I paid $ 16 dollars normally I pay $ 10 and my GEL color last about 3 weeks and this time I paid a couple dollars more and I was fine paying it and by the 2nd day they were ruined, so that’s why I give this place a 2 star just because my nails look horrible. I am so bummed out and frustrated.

A Few weeks ago I went in after not going in for a few years because they didn’t carry gel polish they carry better polish selection than my regular nail place Shellac, Essie and many other brands I loved my nail tech she did an awesome job and only charge $ 25 with design which is cheap

Has changed so much since I last came I only recognize three of the girls everybody else is different this new girl did my nails she’s an older lady with her eyebrows tattooed on I had never seen her before but Tracie the girl that usually does my nails told me she was pretty good I asked her for almond nails and she said ok she started doing my nails she couldn’t get the shape right on my thumb and I could tell she was getting frustrated she started filing really fast and she hit my skin and I started bleeding everywhere she held my finger down and said I will fix it I told her what are you going to fix my finger is bleeding she sprayed some something on my finger and then she wrapped a towel around it I could tell she was scared and then the owner came over looked at my finger they spoke in their language and she told me that maybe they couldn’t finish my nails because the other lady has filed down my real nail and there was no nail bed for the fake nail to lay on I had been getting my nails done for about 2 hours not even had polish on them I was over and I told her whatever what do I owe you she said well usually its 25 for your nail shape but because of what happened we’re going to charge you 20 I couldn’t believe she was even charging me after three of her girls had to bring your a spray towel and ice to put my hand on but that just shows you the new service up they have I’ll probably never ever come here again if you do come here just let Tracie do your nails she’s the only one that knows what she’s doing

I absolutely LOVE this nail shop! I have been coming here for 11 years and wouldn’t change it for the world! Even when I moved to LA for a few years, I would commute JUST to come here! I love Tracey, Lee, Diana and the guy owner(I don’t know his name) :/haha. I have brought so many of my friends here and family members and they’ve all said they have found their new nail salon! Thanks Family Nails for all the years you’ve been doing an amazing job!

I’ve been coming here for 7 years. They’ve done a pretty decent job. Not bad in price at all either. Last pedi I got was about 3 months ago(I go to different Nail Salons here and there) and the price was $ 12. I come today and I get a new girl to do it and I say new because I’ve never seen her here. I gave her the benefit of the doubt. PEDISUCKED. to top it off I paid $ 15 plus $ 1 fee to charge my card for anything under $ 20. Take your money elsewhere. This isn’t the same salon I use to know. I’d rather drive a few more miles and go to AT Nails or Kathy’s.

Been coming here for over 10 years now! Mai Lan is great! The place is clean and they do a great job! Would highly recommend. Parking can sometimes be an issue but the service and friendliness of the girls make it all worth it.

Yes, it’s small. Yes, it’s crowded. Yes, there’s a wait. But all I am going to say is that I don’t go anywhere else. Ever. Since 2008, when I discovered their awesomeness.

I usually like going here when I don’t like driving too far, bcuz this place is in the corner where I live but the wait here is over an hour and of course people that have an appointment go ahead of you all the time. The wait is ridiculous, and plus this place is really small.

Getting cut while you get your mani or pedi is part of the process. Sometimes it happens but in my experience it’s not unique to this place as I’ve had that happen at other places as well with that being said I won’t be using this tidbit in my rating. What earns this spot the 4 stars is their prices, their massaging chairs and most importantly the service I’ve received here. Yes there have been times when the wait is unbearable but we have to be smart about it and avoid these sort of spots on Friday afternoons or Saturdays. I usually get a manicure and pedicure and all the ladies who have worked on me have been thorough with their work. At the end my feet look and feel like a million bucks. I can’t speak about their acrylic work as I’ve never had that done here. There is one lady that sits right by the door that seems to be the go to person for acrylics. She is always working on someone and that is all she does. I think if you want acrylics ask for her, it seems to be her specialty.

This place is really hit-or-miss which is why I gave it only 2 stars. It’s always packed, I’ll give you that, but I think that is because it’s so little. I digress, Family Nails is moderately priced but the quality is not all there, sometimes. That’s the part about hit-or-miss, that sometimes you’ll get ok service and sometimes you won’t. Personally when they didn’t I would either get cut or they would make my acrylics super thick. They’re also not consistant with pricing. They do have nice massage chairs though… I only go there during a nail emergency or I’m too lazy to drive all the way across town to the other place. Overall: meh.
