Everyone has their own opinion and here’s mine. I personally love the atmosphere at 4th street market. Dos Chinos was easy to find and located close to the outside patio. Stumbled upon the«Stoner Fries» on IG and had to see what all the hype was about! The gentleman who helped me and my gf said their most popular was their«Stoner Fries», which I already assumed. Only waited what felt close to 5 – 10 min. «Stoner Fries came out fresh and looking tasty. Went outside with my lady for some fresh air, and dug in! I do recommend a side of their salsa! The picture does it’s justice. The fries were crunchy, Asada was cooked to perfection, the egg called for«Yolk Porn» and the salsa gave this entrée it’s finishing touch. Loved every bite of these fries. A little on the pricy side for just fries w/Asada, but well worth it! Have to loved the name too«Dos Chinos». In the end, a Stoner’s paradise Lol. Check out my IG food account @heaveninyourmouth ! Thank you Dos Chinos ! Our paths will cross again!

Not sure what all the hype is for, or maybe the 4th St Venue might be slipping, but the Stoner Fries weren’t anything to write home about. Perhaps it tastes best when you are«stoned». Maybe I need to go back and try other items to discover what people are raving about. Their version of Salsa Verde is very delicious in fact. Because of the fusion, it seems to have southeast Asian Fish sauce as a base, hence the very unique flavoring.

Love it. Best way to describe this. Upset they dont offer lobster fries any more. I specifically came here for that. The cashier told me they hadnt done it in months. Sad face. So i asked what they would recommend. Stoner fries. Ordered one of those and they guy gave me the total vefore my husband ordered. He said it was enough for the 4 of us since my two kids were with me lol. Figured if we were srill hungry we can always order more no biggie. The dish came out huge. Definitely good for 2 people. Since my kids arent big eaters it was enough for the 4 of us haha(kids are 3&1 so not big eaters at that age). The fries. man. came out delicious. Even the fries underneath all the condiments werent soggy. The rice has a bit of spice to it. not too spicy but it was very good. One of the guys recommended their salsa to go with it. Honestly it was too sweet for me so it wasnt to my liking. The meat was just right. Not too dry and had light crisps and crunches to the pork belly. Service was awesome. They dont have water there but u can walk around to the bar for water and they provide the cups. It does seem to get busy during lunch hours so i recommend to go earlier to beat the crowds. Tons of seating around too so great for groups. Loved it!

Before I begin, I’ve been to Dos Chinos a couple of times when they would park outside of Proof Bar. Never any problems usually encountered with a food truck and the food is delicious. I’ve been to their stall in 4th Street Market 3 times now before today and Usually, the food is delicious and fresh but today, I have no idea what the hell got into the kitchen staff in which the food we were served was cold, bland, & unenjoyable. I took out my parents to dinner tonight since I’ve been so busy with work and haven’t spent much time with them. So there I was giving acclaim to Dos Chinos and how delicious their food is when instead of the amazing food that made their name, we received the cold, depressing versions. It was the Dos Chinos equivalent of being served a smushed Big Mac at McDonalds. Stoner Bowl, Two Taco Plate, & Bowl, ALL cold. The only thing that was remotely close to tepid was the meat which seemed like they probably made it earlier in the day and occasionally threw on the grill to make it somewhat warm or something. But I don’t get it. Why? Why would you serve food that’s cold? It still baffles me as I type this because Dos Chinos used to be an icon of Santa Ana’s early culinary revolution. Now they’re negligently serving food that could pose risks for being served in the danger zone. As of tonight, I used to love Dos Chinos. After experiencing such a n00b move on their part, that place is officially a dump in my book. It even got my Dad mad and I haven’t seen him get so worked up in YEARS. Unfortunately it ruined the night. The staff offered to take the food back so that they can warm it up or at least make fresh hot food, keywords being FRESH&HOT. They gave it back to us in what seemed like they were just trying to mess with me or thought I was dumb because all they did was make the meat warmer but kept the rice cold. That’s when I didn’t even want it anymore. Thanks for the unsafe food and for ruining dinner with my parents. Please make some improvements because you lost a loyal customer’s confidence. Remember to check internal temperatures because things didn’t work out so well for Chipotle and I’d hate to see that happen to a Santanero business 1 star for lack of safety & negligence +1 cause I love 4th St Market

TWOWORDS: STONER. FRIES. I can’t get enough of this place! When I’m there, I wish I can eat more. When I’m not there, I wish I can eat more! Dos Chinos is one heck of a creation. It’s refreshing to try great fusion that simply works! I’ve had the pleasure to try the STONERFRIES for my first time && am I glad they recommended it to us. Price was the least of my worries because even a friend of ours recommended it, so I know it’s the ! The guys working were super chill and friendly. They kept a conversation going which is always a plus when I try out a new spot. Santa Ana is lucky to have Dos Chinos! I wish they’d open one soon in LA. I can’t wait to go back!

Located in 4th street market in downtown Santa Ana. This plaza was so cute and nice to walk around for food and coffee! Decided to grab some dos chinos with a friend. The cashier(Jackie) was so very nice to us and helped us with recommendations. I already knew what I wanted so I went with the stoner fries. Fries — I’m starting to understand why they called it that because you gotta have the munchies to eat it because it is HUGE. The portion size is a great size to share with someone, unless you’re really hungry. Skinny cut French fries, fried rice, onions, BBQ meat, fried egg, etc. I thought it was pretty good. The price was a little expensive but the portion size is big!!! I thought it was okay but I wasn’t feeling the taste of the BBQ meat. It reminds me of Vietnamese BBQ meat with fries. The stoner fries is considered the top popular entrée here. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and a good portion size!

Two words: STONERFRIES!!! This place is so nice & unique because it’s in a place you don’t really expect it to be in. It’s surrounded by other food places but I would consider Dos Chinos to be the best! The stoner fries is a big plate so I would recommend anyone to share it with another person or two!

Located towards the back of the 4th st market Ordered the stoner fries and a Bolsa roasted pork, rice bowl style. It took me a second to figure out how to order from their menu but u basically choose a meat under the entrée list and then choose the style of how u want it made… Tacos, rice bowl, burrito, or fries. It’s completely fusion with Thai, Korean, Vietnamese all making an appearance. If I recall we went on a Sunday and it wasn’t too busy and there was plenty of seating. We tried the Thai-chata drink which was pretty decent size but a tad bit watered down for my taste, but worth giving it a try. Prices are in the photos!

I’ve been here twice & both times, I ordered the Stoner Fries. It’s really delicious. The only thing I don’t like about this place is the price. It’s really pricey; but I guess you pay for the hipster atmosphere of 4th street market. Other than that, it’s super good!

My mama don’t like you and she likes everyone… This review is for the phở only. to be honest the brisket was the star of this terrible movie. I got the last three bowls so you would think it would come out piping hot, but that wasn’t at all the case. Luke warm phở? Who does that ?? I waited 30 minutes! Use 3 minutes of that 30 and use a microwave! Granted these are all thing that can be fixed. Maybe if it came in a real bowl with real spoons and real chopsticks, I’d like it? Maybe I’m asking for too much? I’m going to bolsa… Toodles

Dos chinos offers a good variety of big eats that combines Mexican and Asian flavored. I got the $ 13 Stoner Fries with my girlfriend and it had some good bolsa pork belly and sausage, on top of fries and fried rice, mixed in with some cream and cilantro, topped with a fried egg. It looked bomb as fuck and would certainly please those whose its name entails. The pork belly was pretty tasty I’d have to say, and the mix of sausage really adds a kick to the pork flavor. I also got a Thai-chata for $ 3 on the side as a drink, which was an interesting blend of the two flavors, Thai tea and horchata. However the reasons I give this place a 4 1) Thai-chata — was pretty disappointing, tasted nothing like a mix of both, and it was super water downed. I would suggest they used cinnamon sugar instead of cinnamon as well to add that flavor into the mix. 2) The Stoner Fries — not enough meat, too much fries. I had to dig in to what I really wanted to munch on, the meats, but they were all under a huge amount of fries that you can honestly get tired of eating even if you’re splitting the meal between two people. And the proportion of meat to fries/rice was not really spot on. Of course add ons are a thing, but at an extra cost. Overall the original sold products weren’t as great as I thought it would be.

We only had the stoner fries here and it was delicious! Don’t know if I was hungry or if it was really good, but I shared with two other people and we INHALED it. We got drinks from the bar around the corner, forgot to take pictures of the drinks and the name, and picked up the fries. Fries came with meat(pork belly I think), had rice in it also and an egg on top. There was also a green salsa and a mango sauce which is a little bit spicy. Great drunken food.

I usually don’t give most street food stands 5 stars due to the fact that, as good as it tastes, it’s still just street food. However, I just can’t seem to find anything wrong with this place. Everything from the perfect pairing of Asian & Latin cuisine to the hip, urban vibe they’re serving up with your order, these guys make ingesting these belly bombs well worthwhile. Seriously, I hardly feel the regret. The flavors are a mixture of down-home Asian/Latin cooking & exotic combinations that«pop» with every bite. The burritos are hefty, but not sickeningly so; the rice bowls are complete without being overloaded with useless carbs; and everything compliments each other perfectly. You have a simple, yet well-rounded menu to pick from. Ordering is simple: Just pick your meat– I highly recommend the Santana Chicken which is a Vietnamese Chimichuri Chicken with caramelized onions & salsa verde. You also have your choice of carnitas, pork belly, carne asada, or shrimp. Then, pick your style: Burrito, Tacos, Loaded Fries, or Rice Bowl. I had my Santana Chicken packed into a flour tortilla with fried rice, caramelized onions, tomatoes, cilantro, & salsa verde for the ultimate chicken fried rice flavor explosion. Even their sides are to die for. Let me tell you, as simple as their $ 2 parmesan garlic fries look, they’re nothing to scoff at, & they go perfectly with any of their entrees. The menu is super customizable to suit your tastes, and the best part is that as doubtful as the people who work here may be about the take-home-worthiness of their food, my Santana Chicken Rice Bowl Burrito tasted just as good heated up at home, as it would have fresh. Maybe even better, as the flavors had a chance to marinate for a few hours. And really, if you have to drive far to get to the 4th Street Market, you might as well take something home with you to commemorate your visit. Why not a Dos Chinos burrito or rice bowl?

First stop at 4th St Market was Dos Chinos, the ever so popular taco truck! Ordered a trio of shrimp tacos and pork belly tacos. A bit on the pricier side but the tacos aren’t the typical street tacos. Oahu Shrimp Tacos — Large, juicy garlic shrimp topped with cubed pineapples, cream sauce and cabbage. The garlic shrimp alone did me over. There could’ve been more garlic flavor but the quality of the shrimp alone was excellent. Bolsa Pork Belly Tacos — Basically a banh mi in taco form. Their pork belly is roasted with 5 spices but whoever prepared the pork belly may have dropped the ball because it wasn’t spicy at all. There was more char flavor than anything else. The pork belly was a little overcooked as it was slightly dry. Make sure you try out their 3 sauces. If you can take it, try their Sriracha Killer.

Home of the Salt-Crusted Carne Asada Taco! I have walked by Dos Chinos for the past six months since 4th Street Market opened. I read the first reviews(like Jeni C’s) and held off, thinking six months of seasoning would improve the business. WRONG. If I could go back in time, or even just an hour, I would have waited forever. It was the worst taco I have had in the past 4 – 5 years. 3 p.m. on a Tuesday. I ordered the carnitas two taco plate with avocado. There was no one in front of me or in back of me when I ordered and only two people waiting for their food. After waiting awhile, I looked at my receipt and noticed that it said carne asada instead of carnitas. I was also charged $ 1.50 for avocado when the on board menu said that adding avocado only costs $ 1.00. I looked at a smaller sign in front of the cashier that said, they were out of carnitas today. Why didn’t the cashier tell me that when I ordered? Pressed for time on my work lunch break, I didn’t bring it up because I don’t mind eating beef. Dos Chinos«God Save Me» Carne Asada Tacos — The tacos looked good. A thin but strong warm tortilla that was freshly toasted on the grill, generous portion of carne asada meat, chopped onions, cilantro, red peppers. Fresh ingredients. All was well until I took a couple of bites. Got dammms. GOTDAMMMS. Did they just give me a five day shot of sodium intake? Where is the church? Take me to the +cross+… +Oh Lord, if you could make me a chain smoker or a senior in a convalescent home, right now, please Lord, so that we can instantly turn this dish into a normal tasting meal. +Dear Lord, please place a warm bowl of water next to me so that I can flash soak off a layer of salt. +Please God Almighty, get me some water. Why do I have to walk to the other side of the building to get a cup of water. Why. Why. Why. My tacos were so salty that I could not finish them. A bigger issue other than focusing on myself is… Who the heck is doing the cooking around here??? Do they have taste buds? How much salt goes into this recipe? It’s been 45 minutes since I left 4th Street Market and my mouth is still smarting from the lingering salt shock. Let’s recap: 1. Took my order and did not tell me that they were out of my meat choice. I was not offered an alternative and they just punched in a meat for me. 2. Overcharged me $.50 over their displayed price for avocado. 3. Took 10 – 12 minutes to make two tacos with two people in front of me. 4. Someone poured a cup of salt into the meat and didn’t tell the chef. 5. Other than that, everything else was okay. Tacos came out to $ 4.25 each($ 3.50 base + $.75 for avocado). Whatever made this taco truck great has not translated into the physical location. What happened to the great Coconut Curry Chicken Burritos, where did those go? Maybe we can rename this joint Hypertension, because I’m still shaking.

Dos Chinos… sucks. I have tried the Dos Chinos experience in vain since the gourmet food truck explosion and have always felt bored with their cuisine. It was(and is) overly salted, cliché and expensive. I hoped that their new brick & mortar 4th Market location meant that they started to make some real deal food for the masses. Sadly, that isn’t the case. Dos Chinos is Spanish slang for«Two Asians» or perhaps«Two Chinese guys» depending on who you ask. Their principle is easy: Hispanic/Asian«fusion» street food stolen from the Kogi and Komodo playbook, but executed quite poorly. I have had several items from the food truck and always walked away unimpressed but I figured I would give their stand a shot and try the Asada Beef on a salad wedge to see if things have improved. That was a huge mistake. $ 8.00 yields a cardboard plate with a suspect amount of poorly cut up iceberg lettuce topped with their«Dos Chinos Asada» which is billed as Vietnamese-Chimichurri Angus beef. All I tasted was salt and overly cooked beef. Chimichurri had left the building by the time salty and gummy beef had started their combined act. The protein floated on top of crudely chopped iceberg lettuce. This is easily the worst thing I have had at the 4th Street Market and their stand should be avoided by all costs. Another issue is their customer service which is between dismal and horrific. I would explain my points but with 2 stars on the food alone why bother? I am done with Dos Chinos. A generous 2 stars and never again from this Unilocaler.

I had to bump my rating up to five stars… these lobster fries are amazing!!! Delicious lobster with seasoning so good I was sucking the shells. My regret is that I ate it too fast, I should have savored the taste. The staff also was cool with accommodating me with the lobster as it is a special order and I did call for the dish at a short notice. Also, the pork belly burrito was ordered with a side of garlic fries. Delicious pieces of pork belly and quite generous with the portion in the burrito. I’ve barely put a dint in the number of restaurants I’ve tried here at 4th Street Market but Dos Chinos has easily become my favorite out of all I’ve tried to this day. Dinner 7÷30÷2015

Dos Chinos(two Chinese guys) is in the extremely hip 4th Street DTSA. It provides a fusion of Asian and Mexican cuisine. Unfortunately they fail miserably in this department. Tacos, burritos, and bowls are some of the offerings here. I ordered the 2 taco special for $ 7. My choice of meat was the Santana Chicken, which consisted of Vietnamese chimichurri chicken, caramelized onions, & sweet peppers. The portion size was generous. However the chicken in terms of flavor was extremely weak. Liquid was dripping from the taco and the flavors just didn’t mesh together. It was a huge disappointment. I love it when cuisines from different parts of the world come together. Unfortunately this was a complete disaster. I definitely will not be coming back here.
