Ricky is a great employee here and is always very nice and helpful when taking my order. I have eaten at this place several times and the food is always fresh and prepared quickly.

So happy I found this place and I’m glad my wife found something on the menu she likes: teriyaki chicken w/miso soup and two egg rolls. I get the teriyaki chicken with Cali rolls and the pickled cucumber salad. So good. Friendly helpful Staff. Too bad they have Pepsi product but that’s just a person preference for me

Sushi was meh. Prices seemed a little high. Staff wasn’t bad or good. Nothing really stands out about this place.

The food was good but the service wasn’t. The cashier was very impatient while I looked at the menu and decided what to order. My food was ready and sat on the counter for about 10 minutes. They only brought it to me when I asked if the food sitting on the counter was mine. I will come back, but I’ll get my food to go.

5 star all the way for the good food and great customer service! My boyfriend and I love it here. The cashier, Dulce was really sweet and helpful. We got the CA Roll/chicken combo with miso soup. This place never disappoints!

Very average. A decent value at $ 9 for white meat chicken, brown rice, salad and a beverage. The chicken was not top quality but a decent serviceable lunch.

So good better than sushi box. They give you a good amount of food for the price under $ 9 bucks for the carol & chicken combo… Their salads are bomb especially the cucumber salad. Definitely coming back oh n a plus great customer service

Overall food and service is good. Chicken plate with salad is my favorite. Good price and quick. Great for a quick bite. The bad part is the water from the soda machine. It just tastes nasty. A water filter should help detoriate the strange taste.

*****5STARS — Great Service — Great**Sushi — An Orange County Must See***** DOMOYAAAH!!! I work across the street from this fine establishment and my church is across the street as well. You should stop in here for a roll and head over to Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa and give all glory, honor and praise to the God who keeps you eating such delicacies. ;) I believe Calvary Chapel has something going on at 7PM, 7 days a week so stop in and seek our loving God. Why? Because He loves you so much and is able to not only forgive you of what is weighing you down but He is also able to give you a place in His house forever and forever. And no, I do not work there. ;)
None of us deserves His great love and favor but God will give it to whoever will receive it. «For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back.» This statement is found in the Holy Bible, the book of Jeremiah, chapter 29, verses 11 – 14NKJV

It was very busy at rubios so I popped in to see what they had. There was no one being helped and the hostess, cashier, and chef still failed to greet me. When I asked about a combo I was given a stern«no» and no suggestions or any other information. Bad service very impersonal people and as rude as they come. Just go to rubios next door.

This place is amazing and especially for their grill and roll which is well priced for the food you get. Highly recommend. I’ve been here a million times and whenever I come home from college I always make sure I come back!

Domoya is near my work and I go there ALL the time with my coworkers. I love the BiBim Bap salad, but I’m a bit of a wimp, so I get it with the sesame dressing. Delicious. You can get it without the rice if you are being extra virtuous. :) The salmon bowl is another favorite. Domoya never disappoints.

Place is ok. Staff is friendly. Prices are ok. Not a place I’d order sushi, but other items on menu are good. Quick and easy place to stop by for lunch.

Me and my family went here to eat sushi but we found a hair, after we found it we simply went to the owner of the place(who was Japanese I believe) and he offered another plate and after we sat back down, we found two more hairs so we went to the owner again to just ask for our money back. He refused to give us our money back even though we barely ate a little bit of the sushi and he started saying that it was me and my family’s hair that got into the food, when it was only about 15 minutes that we were inside of the restaurant. I used to love going here to to get Moche ice cream when this place was originally called«SanSai» but sadly I will never come back here because of how extremely rude the owner was.

Superb sushi!!! Best place for miles, always fresh as it gets from the rolls with quality rice to thick cuts of fish even as far as the savory appetizers. Must try the cucumber salad appetizer and best of all the lobster roll. You won’t regret it. Also despite the recent name change; the quality never does.

I’m surprised by the amount of bad reviews. The place is clean, trendy, and the food is good. Prices are also very reasonable! Was here twice. Never tried their sushi. First time ordered the prime steak. Portion was not big(it’s a Japanese place after all) but the meat was delicious. Second time tried the chicken breast with rice and veggies. It was no the best but not bad at all, only $ 8 and change. Overall, try this place for yourself.

I’ll give it two stars, can’t say I’ll be back. I had been going to the San-Sai that was previously here. It Is still the same owners and staff. But it feels a lot different. The tension was a bit slight in the air. Food took nearly 20 min to get out. The sushi seemed a bit warm and the roll I ordered wasn’t anything fancy. Basically it was just a California roll with sushi on top.(I hate California roll)… so in a nutshell if you like lukewarm sushi and cold miso, this is the spot… I am sure that they are not home. This is not my friends house. Domodachiya

I had been going to the previous place located here for years. I took my family a few weeks ago and found it changed. This place is almost an exact replica of what was here before. The cleaned it up a lil, not that it was ever dirty, but now it looks more fancy? Same counter set up to order and be seated. The food was good, the selection was nice. I thought the prices where a lil higher but not bad. I like the food choices, I think they had more salads in the past but pretty much the same thing. I look forward to going back and suggest you check them out too.

Terrible. I got the beef bibimbap for $ 9. They don’t make it with the typical korean veggies. They use lettuce, cabbage, regular cucumber and carrots. It’s more like a salad. They offer a spicy sauce or honey mustard sauce to go with it. I asked for spicy yet I didn’t get any sauce. It’s like 75% lettuce. I am posting a pic of how much lettuce was left over after I ate the small pile of meat and rice in the center. It comes with miso soup but it’s nothing special. $ 9 for lunch and I’m still hungry. I’m not coming back.

Seems to be just a take-over of the previous«sushi» restaurant that was at this location(Sansai). The menu is very similar – rice bowls, noodles, sushi, and salads. The menu was actually more confusing. I found myself going around in circles because one section had the combos, then next to it was a section of how you can mix and match your combo plates with sushi rolls and sides. I had to ask which sushi qualified for the mix and match combos. I was so overwhelmed that I decided to just get a tuna sashimi salad with dressing on the side. The last part was key because normally restaurants overdress sushi salads. And this one was no exception. They accidentally mixed the dressing and then gave me extra dressing on the side. The sushi chef apologized, which I appreciate, but unfortunately, I was disappointed by it. There wasn’t enough greens to balance out the dressing. The tuna however was nicely cut and fresh.

I came in on a Monday night when it wasn’t busy at all and I ordered a crunchy shrimp roll with eel sauce on the side, but the girl taking my order misheard me and charged me for an extra 6 piece goyza. I went back to change my order, but got a different cashier and the girl who originally took my order had an attitude about it. Note that I asked for eel sauce on the side, but when my order came, it was squirted along the top, but I thought okay no big deal, I can deal with it. When I actually took a bite, it was not good ATALL. The carrots tasted stale and the shrimp tempura was soggy. Not to mention the pieces were sliced too thin so they fell apart when I tried to pick them up. Overall, THEWORST sushi experience I’ve ever had. I won’t be back.

I was first disappointed to learn that Sen Sei has been replaced. After almost a year, I can say that I’m glad Domoya came along. Love their bibimbap. Love the service. Love the decent prices. Love the clean dining room. I also love how the owners are at the counter, helping the staff. What a great small business!!! Chirashi Bibimbap is a definite must try. So is the curry!

Now that I realize it’s almost December and I’m not even close to finishing my 100 reviews for the year I’m scrambling to try new things. Domoya is much more japanese than it is «fusion.» The only things not japanese are the bulgoki(btw I think it’s weird they chose to spell it that way) and the bibimbap. We had the chicken with spicy sauce, vegetable and shrimp tempura and the salmon zen roll for $ 23. This is a place that non Asians go to say they eat asian food. Not a bad thing of course but the flavors aren’t very authentic. The spicy sauce was really strong in flavor but not very spicy. The chicken wasn’t overlooked but the portion is actually kind of small. The sushi is a little too room temp for my liking but the size of the roll is decent. The tempura was actually not bad and they give a lot of variety plus 3 pieces of shrimp.
