This spot is lit !! I’m oaxacan and I gotta say the food here is the bomb diggity. I will definitely come here when my mom don’t want to cook lol

First timer here, being that my boyfriend is Oaxacan I never really branched out to eating food from his roots. Must say the food was delicious. Will be coming back again.

The food is amazing! The micheladas are on point every time. I come back at least once every few months! This is my go-​to place

This is a house renovated to be a restaurant, it has a «come to mom’s house feel». When we arrived. parking is very sparse, literly has 6 cars max parked in the driveway and if you do not get a spot there than you have to park on the street in a residential area, which is a sketchy area to begin with. so you are somewhat taking your chances (bring your other car, not the really nice one, lol). As we walked into the front door it was a full house, also it was Valentine’s Day so couples, families celebrating. I was very hot/​stuffy and dark. We had to wait about 5 minutes to be seated, there was few people that had left because the wait was too long and they had found this place through Unilocal like we did. I am trying to describe it so that if you have certain expectations you won’t be disappointed… Please do not expect anything fancy because it is not, basically like you went over your grandmother’s house and pulled up some chairs and table to accommodate your friends to eat, kinda vibe. This is not your typical mexican food joint where you will be stuffed and you walk out feeling as though the beans and rice completed your meal. As a matter of fact after we ate, I turned to my husband and said… this is the first mexican restaurant that I have eaten at and I have to say I am not even full, let’s hit a taco stand!!! Portions are small and the chips and salsa was served on an appetizer plate with mole sauce on it (probably 10 chips). Service took way too long… the couple next to us we both were waiting for our bill, finally got it and had to walk it to the counter because we could not wait any longer. The positive is… food had a lot of flavor but portions was not enough to justify the price. They did not have a big selection, my husband had mention that it was probably more of the city, Oaxaca in mexico’s type of food they eat because they did not have your typical carnitas, carne asada, etc. What I did notice on the menu was mole on everything, so that must be what they are popular for. Very friendly servers but not what I was looking for… I have no idea who is rating this because clearly was disappointing! Went to El Toro Bravo and got tacos for $ 2.50 and that definitely filled us up!

Such a fun unique experience with the best service. The waitress was wonderful and the food was amazing!

If you want to eat legit mole (and all kinds) this is the place you want to come to. Their prizes are cheap and the food is absolutely delicious. The staff is very nice and we even had the chef come out and ask us if we needed anything else. I’m definitely coming back anytime!

Came in for lunch, man this place is amazing! The food was so authentic and delicious! Food takes a little while but if you look back you’ll see 3 lady’s making everything from scratch so can’t complain! will return if in the area again

I had dinner here the other night and wanted to make sure I rated my experience.
I was looking for «authentic» or «good Mexican» food at the very least.
Honestly, this place makes you feel a little close to Mexico. The people are legit and the food is too. I had the agua de pepino and the mole negro. Delicious! The appetizer chips with a bit of mole I them and cheese were excellent too. The corn tortillas were huge like a flour tortilla.
This place is legit. Don’t miss out.
I gave 4 stars because the food was great, the service took a little long I thought.

Decent food. A little over priced for the proportion given. Presentation is good. Food came in two half’s, by that I mean 4 of us came and 2 got there food and about 15min later the others got there food.

This place is awesome! Everything we ate was bomb-​tacular!!!
I had the Tlayuda with steak, pork and homemade chorizo. Sprinkled with Oaxaca cheese and black beans! It was so yummy everyone at the table at some.
My sister had the mole negro and we all dipped into her mole sauce that was to die for.
We will definitely come back soon to try something new!

Their food is AMAZING! According to my Oaxacan husband they are very authentic! Price is reasonable and plates are full of delicious food.

Place has authentic Oaxacan food. The moles are great. They only serve certain foods at certain times and on the weekend so it might be a good idea to call ahead if your going for a certain dish. They were out of tamales when we came. Parking isn’t great and be careful if you park down the alley especially in the night. Do not park on the residential streets cause it’s permit only and you will get a $ 40 ticket. Worth trying for lunch!!!

I chose this place because of the written paragraph on this page from Rogelio. I must say the food is amazing. The mole negro made me think of my aunts home made mole. It was so delicious. Truly authentic. I also has the molotones and a fish taco! For dessert I had nieve de petalos de rosa. Wow! The food here is an inspiration. Thank you for the culinary experience sir.

Delicioso !!! If you had the opportunity to travel to Oaxaca 20 de noviembre market you will understand how unique is this gem in Santa Ana. We wanted to order half of the menu but we order the appetizer sampler with sopes, flautas, beef, Chile pork, guacamole and the famous Oaxaca cheese it was wonderful.
Then we order Pozole Verde and Birria de chivo, I don’t know which one was better because each one had a unique flavor but always following the tradition of their Mexican ancestors
If you happen to be close to Santa Ana come and visit this wonderful place.

HORRIBLY DELICIOUS!!! Best MOLE I have had. This place makes there MOLE like it should be made… from SCRATCH… NOT THAT MARIA BOTTLE BS people like to call authentic and homemade. Also there Passion Fruit drink and their Horchata is ridiculous. The CHIPS and MOLE for starters are free… Great little spot. ONE BAD THING… DONT PARK ON THE STREET IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD OR YOUR CAR WILL GET TOWED! The struggle for parking is worth it though. I need to go back soon.

Very authentic Mexican flavors here. Totally recommend this spot for anyone that loves spicy Mexican food. They bring out chips with Mole and queso fresco with a spicy salsa, it was very delicious. The aguas naturales are so light and refreshing. My favorite was the the pepino con Limon. I order a plate that came w two chicken enchiladas, chorizo, cecina, rice and beans. This place is very good. This place is small might get busy during dinner time.
The service was a little slow but food is good

Most authentic Mexican food I’ve ever had (in America) … Feels like you’re in your abuelas house and she’s making her special dish (they’re all THAT special dish)

Delicious! All was good from the rice to the beans to my mole chicken enchiladas (I picked the mole negro). I also got a passion fruit drink and I finished with the 2 different flavors of sorbet, so good and so refreshing!
My partner got a combo plate of pork and steak along with rice and beans and fresh corn tortillas.
He also ordered the horchata with a scoop of fruit sorbet (I forget the name of the name of the sorbet, sorry) diced cantaloupe and walnuts.

Walking in, I felt like I was entering my grandmother’s house.
Ordered the horchata, which came with some cactus fruit, almond slivers, and pieces of melon. It was amazing, and not too sweet. They give you mole with chips as a free appetizer.
I ordered the Oaxacan quesadillas and they were delicious, but a little greasy. Kind of regret not ordering the mole. Ordered the hot chocolate, which came with bread, and the burnt milk ice cream as dessert. The hot chocolate was amazing, the bread heavenly and soft, and the ice cream was not as rich as other burnt milk ice creams I’ve had, but it was light. Definitely will come back to try out the mole with chicken and the molcajete.

I forgot how amazing Casa Oaxaca is! Its been a while since I have dined here and it just keeps getting better and better each time I come. I usually get the Molcajete because of the variety of food it comes with and the beautiful presentation of the the dish. This time I went with the bigger version of the Molcajete and got the Tentacion. The Tentacion was even more beautiful and had extra goodies like mini taquitos and mini breaded stuffed cheese tacos. The dipping sauce in the middle had a nice kick to it, it wasn’t too spicy and it complemented very well with everything on the plate. The food was very good as always.
My friend ordered camarones a la diabla and the sauce was absolutely delicious. It was rich in flavor and spices and the shrimp were very well cooked. I will have to order that dish next time. The presentation of all of their dishes are pretty amazing and unique. They really take the time and effort into making a beautiful looking dish that is also very delicious.

No pues, where to start? Well… let me just start with how wonderful the service is, Minerva es a toda maquina, she was very prompt knew her menu and always smiled. Asi que desde un principio ya me sentia como en casa. I ordered the Tlayuda which is like a pizza and was really good. My friend ordered a Molcajete which was also good. The food here is amazing no doubt but what really caught my eye was the Mexican Style ice cream, made fresh daily!
I spoke to Mr. Rogelio the owner and he said that they make it like in Mexico, with a few minor changes as they have to follow sanitation rules. Pero aun asi la nieve esta ATM (a toda maquina). We had Nieve de Tuna and it taste just like what I would have in Mexico, it literally made me feel like I was in Oaxaca, Next we had Nieve de Mamey which I know my mother would absolutely love but the next flavored was surprisingly GREAT! Maracuya con Chile Piquin!!! That was the perfect combination!
Pero bueno el chiste es, que don’t have to drive all the way to LA for real Oaxacan food anymore, it is now in my own backyard!!! I have a feeling I will be having some gatherings at this place real soon!
