History

Established in 2012.

Zebra opened on Sanibel Island, Florida in November 2012. A love of creamy, refreshing and healthy frozen treats drove owners Blanaid and Jeremy to seek out the best in frozen yogurt they could find for their new store.

They both trained at Honey Hill Farms in Russellville, Arkansas and became official ‘Yogologists’. (Ask to see their certificates!)

Enjoy the finest frozen yogurt, and the 52 different toppings all of whom have been specially selected for the Southwest Florida palate.

Why Zebra?

Not only is the Zebra Longwing Butterfly our mascot and inspiration, it is also the Florida state butterfly.

Blanaid C.

Business Owner

Blanaid Colley is the co-​owner of Zebra Frozen Yogurt and she comes from Ireland. Having vacationed on Sanibel every year for twenty years, she and her husband Jeremy Kane moved with their three children in 2008 to live full time on Sanibel. Zebra Frozen Yogurt is a dream they had while in colder climates, they dreamed of being in the sun and having a fun business — and Zebra was born in November 2012.

Biked from our condo (1 mile) to Zebra for the promise of frozen yogurt. Bike rack right in front of the shop door. Weather started to look bad, so we were anxious to arrive and get our order. Place was the same as we remember at our last trip to Sanibel a couple years ago. We tried a few flavors and this family of four had a great selection of frozen yogurt (small with toppings), plus we had a coupon from one of the local fliers. Left a nice tip for the college fund and sat near the window, played some Uno and enjoyed the flavors — Been over a week so I don’t recall the exact flavors, but they have a variety of at least 12 flavors, and then at least 15 different toppings (dry like sprinkles and wet like caramel sauce).
Definitely stop at Zebra’s and look at the map of all the home locations of prior guests.

Took the kids here on a quest to try as many frozen treat places as possible on the island. This one is our favorite one! I had the salted caramel with toffee topping, on the recommendation of the girl behind the counter… it was soooooo good! The staff here was more friendly than we have seen elsewhere. The kids loved the different games they had set up on every table, it’s a great place to go during a rain storm
One tip… only get the child size cup of your kid is under 3, otherwise spend the extra dollar on the small size, the kiddie was way too small

We recently stayed on Sanibel for a week and ended up going to Zebra three of the nights we were there. My kids simply could not get enough of their cones. I especially appreciate that they had gluten free and dairy free options so that everyone in my family could enjoy a treat despite various dietary restrictions. The staff was super friendly, especially with our kids, which is another plus. Well done, Zebra!

We visited Zebra and are not sure what all the fuss is about. The idea of putting flavor stripes on yogurt is interesting, but the base yogurt itself is just adequate. With all the great ice cream places on Sanibel, this one goes to the bottom of my list.

We were lured into Zebra’s with the promise of a free mini cone and it was wonderful. Try the sea salt carmel pretzel flavor and you will be hooked forever! We came back a second night for a full serving. I love the fact that there’s comfortable seating both inside and out, staff is friendly, and is willing to give samples without the coupon… will be back!
