For over 30 years, Congress Jewelers has been creating jewelry from the beautiful shells and Sealife found on Sanibel Island.

History

The Sealife by Congress™ collection is handcrafted as meticulously today as it was from the start in 1982.

More than three decades ago, Dee Congress plucked a shell from the Sanibel Island beach she loved so much. She gave it to her husband, Larry, with this wish: «Turn this shell into gold.» Larry’s first golden shell inspired the Sealife by Congress™ collection.

Each piece, an exact replica of an actual shell, is created through lost-​wax casting and hand-​finished to preserve nature’s perfection. Congress Jewelers’ artisans enhance the settings with the color and sparkle of only the finest diamonds, sapphires and precious gemstones. The results celebrate the beach and nature’s best work in sterling silver and white or yellow 14k gold.

Over the years, the whimsical collection has expanded to include sanddollars, dolphins, turtles, frogs, manatees, hibiscus, pelicans and other marine creatures, as well as the original Sanibel Sandals™.
