Went there Saturday. Waitresses were hot and both the hostess had great asses. But the food wasn’t that great.

This place was awful! Totally disappointed. First my drink had a bug floating in it. The food was awful, the worst grainy steak I ever had, the asparagus, supposed to grilled, tasted like nothing but smoke. The beans were horrible, tasted like drinking a beer, no spices, nothing in them for flavor at all.
We were there on a Friday night and the place was empty, now I know why.
My husband ask for the manager and tried to explain to her how bad the food was and she just had a nonscellaunt attitude and did not care.
Needless to say we will for sure not be a repeat patron.

Outstanding food. Great service. Jaycee was incredible. I had a bbq sandwich and a side for only seven bucks. The atmosphere is cozy and the music selection was on par. Best place in town for lunch hands down.
Not sure why the ratings are so low, this place has it all.

DO NOT LISTEN TO THE BAD STARS! It was UNREAL! The steak and all the sides had such great flavoring ! The waitresses were lovely! The portion sizes were HUGE, plenty of left overs!!! Don’t hesitate. stop and eat there! GREAT PLACE!

The place is loud on the weekends, the steak was barely fair, no taste, not much to pick from. I wouldn’t recommend the place.

Very disappointing. Service was not great. They forgot our appetizer and Texas toast. Margaritas were weak and watery. Steaks were not very good. I had the Cowboy medium rare and it was tough. We won’t be back.

Slow and food was not good at all. Not worth the price or wait. I have given this place several try’s to see if they improved but nope. I will not go again.

Got here at 5:30 pm before the band. The place was quiet enough to speak to each other. The service was great, the food was delicious, and the price was lower than expected. I ordered the prime rib which was not on the menu. They did supply horseradish with it although it was great without it. They have a good assortment of sides. The beans were tasty, the salad and fried okra was fresh and great, and the Texas toast was good, too. I got the chocolate cake with ice cream that was tasty. I even had a take home box of left overs to look forward to later. The band was a good addition after dinner. Thanks for a great experience! I’ll be back!

Went to the location on 380 for years and they have now moved to Sanger. This location has been open since June, and I still love everything about it. Same great steaks, HOMEMADE RANCH, and my alllll time favorite ranch style beans. They still have the best happy hour specials m-​f 4 – 7. During happy hour a majority (but not all) of the appetizers are half off. They also have good bar specials for happy hour but I’m not a big drinker. I think domestic 12oz drafts are 1.99 and glass of house wine is 2.99. They still have a band Friday and Saturdays that normally play 7pm-​close. Still a great place for big parties with the set up! Overall I still love the Old Dusty Trail! The staff is fun and nice I haven’t had a server I wasn’t happy with! DEFINITELY WORTH SCOOTIN YOUR BOOTS THIS WAY FOR A STEAK! :))

Looked forward to a nice dinner with my husband. Didn’t happen here, we arrived was seated ok. but became invisible. finally was asked if we have been helped after 10 minutes or so. Ordered a beer took 10 more minutes.“not exaggerating” service needs some serious adjustments! Now then we or asked for our food order. A little better on time buuuttt OMG! Maybe this was a mistake steak was tough hardly no butter and sour cream on my potato asked for more the sour cream was so watered down it ruined the flavor .had half toasted bread with my salad .“would think maybe this would come with the meal maybe I’m wierd but I eat crackers with my salad lol! Hum not offered any. Could go on but to sum it up they seem to cut corners were they shouldn’t. Didn’t have A good experience and won’t be back.

Once again the service was mediocre if not terrible. My husband’s sirloin was full of gristle and more like a ribeye. When they got my meal wrong they were happy to fix it, but everyone at the table was finished eating by the time it was received, so I got a to-​go box. She patted herself on the back about removing the charge from the ticket, then charged us anyway. Two strikes and you are out Trail Dust, we will not be back.

Second time there. We were there right after it opened. Food was okay. The flies were everywhere. We took our meals home to finish in peace. We went back again after 6 weeks. Flies still there. Ordered a glass of wine. The 8 oz glass came with approximately 2 – 3 oz of wine. It was about a ¹⁄₃ full for $ 6.50. Looked more like a sample at a wine tasting party. The glass was also very greasy like it had been used and forgotten to be washed. Yuck!
The ambiance of the restaurant interior and its lighting is depressing. The staff was okay but were not the happiest at their work. It was like they all had a chip on their shoulder. Food was okay. We took our meals home again. The bowl of beans that are served with the meals are blah! Like they came right out of the can. A couple of slices of bacon and some onion would help these no taste beans in the long run.
We will not be back.

Me and my boyfriend went at the weird time around 3pm. We had the lunch special which was the ribeye for $ 6.99. The steak as cooked as ordered, but if you are a person who isn’t into a lot of garlic salt I would recommend to ask the waiter to be light on the seasoning! Other than that the steak was cooked amazing. The salad came with garlic buttered toast. I had sweet potato fries. My boyfriend had the green beans and baked potato. The food was fresh for an in between period at a restaurant. I love the country atmosphere and the wait staff is awesome. They have a dance floor. Oh and then we had the mixed fruit cobbler. It was so good!

Great steakhouse, great customer service, always good western music and dance if you are in to that. We have had birthday’s, retiremen parties ther, dinners between my wife and I, and dinner with friends. This week will be my wifes birthday lunch.

We have been eating at this restaurant for years, first time at this location.
Ambiance is more generic than the old location, food however is still fantastic. I cannot recommend dessert because in 10 plus years I have always been too full to try it.
Worth the drive.

The food was ok, it was very busy and the staff was friendly. The problem was the live band playing in the same room, we couldn’t hear each other and had to shout to talk.
The chips and quest were good. My steak was a bit fattier than I prefer, but they didn’t overcook it, which was good. The sides were fresh and cooked properly. We were there for a birthday and they did come and sing and we got an ice cream sundae.

My girlfriend and i ate here last night. I had steak she had chicken fried chicken. Only think that was hot was my okra and her chicken. Everything else was barely warm. Very disappointed in my steak it looked like a frozen steak they reheated but still served me not even warm. When i order a meal it should come out steaming, felt like my food was sitting around under a heat lamp that barely worked. I will say we did like the chicken fried chicken but guess they actually had to cook that. I did enjoy the band and server was nice. It wasnt like they had a full house so shouldn’t have been a reason my food to barely be warm. Restaurants in that location never last for sum reason but i hope they work out the bugs, Sanger needs more places to eat. I did call talk to manager she apoliziged but never offered my money back. I dont really think it deserves one star.

Food was absolutely Amazing! Especially the Fried Okra! Service was impeccable! Ask for Brenna! She was Awesome!

so, I really wanted to enjoy my meal this evening when my husband and I went out to eat together. We were hoping the reviews, and the talk around town was wrong… but I am afraid not.
The one star is a generous rating, the only thing that gives this place a one star rating was the fried mushrooms and the service of our server herself. Beyond that… the meal was horrible. We sat down excited to try out the new fare hoping that it tasted as good as it sounded on the menu. We were presented with wilted lettuce for our salad… looked like it had been in a bag for over a week. The taste was off, there was definitely a lack of freshness there… We both ordered the combination platter with ribs and an 8 oz Sirloin steak cooked medium. When it arrived the food looked disappointing, and the taste was something I have never tasted before when trying to eat steak. The sirloin when cut looked medium to medium rare, but the outside of the steak looked and felt rubbery… the worst part was the taste… there was a moldy after taste, I thought it was an odd seasoning, but It wasn’t. I couldn’t finish it, my husband tasted the same thing and only took one bite before he quit… we tried the ribs, I ate most of them because they were covered in Barbeque sauce and I wasn’t able to taste the meat. they did not appear to be freshly cooked. We asked the server if the meat was indeed fresh… she said she was sure that the steaks were freshly cooked… if so, something was seriously wrong with their meat source or their handling of the food.
I had a drink that was not what I ordered…, my husband had a good glass of sweet tea.
I was very disappointed… I was really hoping that there was going to be another good choice to eat out in Sanger, like the old favorites Old West and Babes, but unfortunately there just wasn’t anything good to enjoy about the meal. It is a steak house, their specialty should be steak. After eating there both my husband and I have been extremely nauseous. I will not be stepping foot in the place again… there is absolutely no reason to return.

Went this past Sunday to give it a try. We each had steak, baked potato and the small house salad. Baked potato and salad were good but one of the steaks was to tough to cut, much less chew. Had good service and it is clean. Waitress came by to clear table and asked about the steak on the plate. When she brought our bill she had taken the steak off and charged $ 1.99 for the potato and $ 4.95 for the salad. This was a small side salad and shows on the menu to be a side item which is $ 1.99. I didn’t say anything and went ahead and paid knowing I wouldn’t be back. Maybe we just had bad luck this day, but once burned I don’t return for a second try.

I loved the old one but the new location stinks.
First off, they have live music which is great but the new building is to small. Music was to loud you can not even have a conversation. To crowed and to loud. Food was ok, but just wasn’t the same as a whole. Sadly my entire group agreed that we won’t be returning…
To bad Trail Dust…

First Time to enjoy the Steaks in Sanger. It was the Trail Dust food and environment we come to know and love.

I went this past Saturday, 7÷4÷15. We were kind of forced to go here since our favorite options in town were closed due to the holiday, but I was also excited to try it out for the first time. The food was good, although the prices were a little on the high side compared to similar restaurants (Texas Roadhouse, Outback, etc.). The waitstaff was great, and very friendly. What was completely unacceptable was how ridiculously loud the live music was. It was out of control. Trying to have a conversation when the music is going is a practice of futility. We were at the table with two young children, and every time the music started the children would instinctively cover their ears due to how loud it was. Plus, having a UFC fight on the TV’s isn’t exactly what we were expecting to watch while in a steak restaurant. When it comes down to it, I’d much rather drive an extra 15 minutes down the road when I’m craving steak and go to Texas Roadhouse. Less expensive, similar food, and no ridiculously loud music.

Since Parker Brother’s Trail Dust Steak House opened, their parking lot has been completely full every night. Sanger is kinda short on fine dining establishments, so we had hopes. Today, July 3, 2015 we went in for lunch. We had the Onion Ring appetizer, the day’s $ 6.99 rib-​eye and two sides special and iced tea.
Let’s start with the high lights. Our waitress, Bea, was just great. She should move to a higher end steak house where she could earn real money. She was attentive, friendly and took care of us very well.
Beth had the baked sweet potato with her meal and said it was truly excellent. Nice and soft, served with a nice brown sugar butter. The tea tasted great also. I’m fussy about tea, and it was very nice.
The salads and dressings looked, and tasted, like they were straight off the food service truck. They were decent, but nothing to write home about.
I had the baked potato. It was served without aluminum foil on it, but I believe it was cooked in foil — the inside wasn’t flaky but more like a pudding. Baking a potato in foil is an insult to the potato and the customer. The skin lacked crispness and the inside was like pudding.
The steaks were decent enough ribeyes, and they were cooked correctly, a nice medium rate. It’s not easy to cook a thin steak medium rare, but they did it. The steaks had an odd taste to them. Smoky, but also a bit chemicalish. Was it lighter fluid, as some here have suggested? I don’t think so. My guess? Since we had the steaks medium rare, they didn’t spend enough time to pick up much in the way of smoke aroma. They my have used some sort of seasoned smoky salt. And not a terribly good one. I’d rather have had the steak salted and peppered. I scraped the top and bottom of a piece of the steak and the flavor diminished greatly and the surface wasn’t as gritty as it had been. If my guess is right, they should get a better smoke seasoning, or skip it all together.
On the other hand, it was an 8 ounce rib eye with two sides for $ 6.99. They’re not trying to be Pappas Brothers or Rick’s Steak House. They’re serving an honest steak at a decent price. And for that they deserve 3 stars.
Since their parking lot is absolutely full every night, I don’t think they have any incentive to improve. They have hit the sweet spot for their customers. If they are interested in upping their game, there are some hints in this review.
At the end of the day, Sanger is still short on fine dining establishments. We’ll give the Trail Dust another try in 5 or 6 months.

«The customer is always right.» Ha. Not here. The customer is apparently stupid. As frequent diners at the original Traildust on 380 I can say this was a huge disappointment.
We had 2 T-​Bones, 1 Ribeye, 1 sirloin and 1 Filet. The filet and Ribeye were good cuts of meat, tender and juicy. The other 3 were tough thin and overcooked. BUT, this is not the worst of it.
Our steaks tasted like lighter fluid or some kind of chemical. When we enquired and told the waitress to have one of the managers/​owners smell and try one of the steaks, we were told they do not use lighter fluid, only mesquite which is what makes that flavor and smell. And that «some people» just aren’t used to it. They told us, that in fact, this flavor is what they are famous for. Uh, no. This must be some new claim to fame, because this is NOT the way they tasted on 380 or should taste now. We use mesquite to cook and this not the way it tastes.
Now if you put steaks on a fire before it has time to cook down — you MIGHT get a yucky taste like this. It was indeed right when the restaurant opened for the day so possibly this is the case. In fact, since one of the T-​bones was overcooked it was sent back and when the new one came it tasted less funky than the first ones out.
The fact that the Manager never came out of the kitchen and left the waitress hanging out dry and to tell us that we were basically idiots for not liking this flavor is pretty crappy as well. And speaks worlds about how they feel about customer service.
So in closing, maybe if you went later in the day, it might not be as disgusting since the fire might cook down. Otherwise, if you are fan of A1 and lighter fluid, knock yourself out. Oh, and we indeed paid for all meals that we left on the table. No doggie bags for us, not even that cruel to our dogs.

My wife and I eat out on a regular basis so I feel I can give an accurate review of this place. First of all, the live band is way too loud. I love music but I also like to have a conversation with my dinner guest. The waitress had to yell to be heard. For our appetizer, we ordered fried zucchini. It was obviously a frozen product, not hand made. Bland was the best way to describe it. My salad was from a bag and nothing but the hard white core of the salad. After waiting for a very long time, my medium-​rare steak arrived. It was medium well with no juice whatsoever. I have never returned a meal in my life but this one had to go. One of the managers came out to speak with to apologize. They are in the process of training a new staff. Out waitress did a good job. My suggestion would be to wait a few weeks and hopefully things will improve.

We came in about an hour before closing last night so we will probably give them another chance. Place was packed since it just opened.
We order several different steaks and appetizers. I don’t think anyone actually had their steak cooked the way it was ordered (all over cooked) and everyone in the party agreed that the cooked stumped their toe when they were salting the vegetables and steaks. Potatoes and appetizers were great.
Everyone agreed this was a disappointment based on the others we’ve eaten at but I think (hope) they must be overwhelmed. We were excited to see them come to Sanger, just hope they get the kinks worked out soon.
