It is Father’s Day and a Sunday. The normal 24 hr ac repair companies were too busy and told us they could not get to us until Monday. We have 2 kids under 5 and 2 dogs and it was in the mid 90s.
Not only did Del Air agree to come out even at 830pm at night but they stayed and cleaned the whole system. Not only did they give excellent service they just guaranteed we are signing up for their maintenance plan. It is 11pm and our house is once again cooling down. Del air was professional and 30 dollars cheaper than any other 24hr service we called. Great job will recommend to all.

Our upstairs A/​C unit is about 1 year old. It stopped working the other day. We called Del Air — they installed it and we have a maintenance contract with them. To keep that contract valid, we must pay for them to service it twice a year.
The first technician came the next evening. He examined it and said everything was OK, except it was low on coolant. He said it looks like they might have just not serviced it properly, but it might have a leak. He put a pound of refrigerant in the unit, then said it was too dark to look for the leak, but this should get us going and we should call for another guy to come during daylight to look for the leak.
The second guy, named Oscar, came two days later. The A/​C was still working fine. He examined it for a while, then said the problem was a valve that he’s going to replace under warranty, but our service contract requires that we pay for labor with 10% off. That’s going to come to about $ 500. After about two hours’ work, he comes in and says he’s got that fixed but there’s also a problem with the fan motor outside. That will be $ 215 for the «discounted» labor. At the end the bill was $ 714! By that time I realized I was being scammed — who ever heard of that much going wrong with a lightly-​used (upstairs) until after 1 year? So I paid, but I asked for the old parts. «Why?» he asked. «I don’t believe you replaced any bad parts,» I said. «I want to take them to an expert to examine if they really aren’t working.» He said, «I can’t do that. These are replaced under warranty and I have to bring them back to the office. Well, let me see the parts you removed,» I demanded. He said he couldn’t do that and mumbled some reason that I couldn’t make out. I asked for him to speak up, but he just backed out the door, got in his truck, and left.
He was there less than four hours and a good deal of that time he spent sitting in his van. At one point, I saw him eating in his truck. I didn’t spend my time watching him, so I don’t really know how much time he frittered away in his truck. But even if he worked the full four hours, that would mean the labor rate under our discounted contract is $ 178.75/hour. That’s with a 10% discount. So that means the regular labor rate is $ 198.61, which I call $ 200.

Tech was competent. This is more a review of Del-​Air prices.

Came out, diagnosed problem, installed capacitor, then kit in about 1 hour. Total parts was about ~$ 70 so labor came out to $ 258/​hour!
Will not use Del-​Air again.

I have not been impressed with Del-​Air. I spent $ 5,600 on a unit paid over $ 1,000 on service for 3 years. 3 winter months after a service they shared that the service was only under warranty for 30 days. Charged me to just take a look.

I am very pleased with the service I received the other day. My air randomly went out, of course on a very Muggy day, and with a baby in the house, I needed it replaced immediately. Gave delair a call and they had the installers out the very next morning. I needed my outside unit replaced. The installers, Josh and ken, made the experience very pleasant and were friendly as can be. They did a great job outside and even made it look better than it did before! They explained everything in a way that made so much sense that I felt I was ready to work on my AC by myself. That will not be happening though, so next time anything goes wrong, I will be calling delair and I will be requesting Josh cinco and Ken berry and advise anyone else to as well. Great job guys !!!

I hired this company before to cover my commercial properties. They missed appointments and had such a rude lady as dispatch manager!
After years I gave them another try and got the exactly same treatment. They just don’t show up or even call.

Outstanding customer service and work! Our old heat pump «crashed» so it was time for a new system. Craig, salesman, responded on Sunday within 30 minutes of my e-​mail. He made arrangements for our new system to be installed the following day! We were impressed before the crew arrived — Angel called to let us know they were on the way — arrived exactly when they anticipated! The crew did an amazing job on the installation and start-​up! Both of the installation techs were extremely professional, courteous, and are two of the best I’ve encountered! They were a pleasure to have working in our home! Tom stopped by to check out the installation and start up — another pro! Tom took time to acquaint my wife with the new system going over each component. He also made sure Melody understood the thermostat operation. We were both impressed with Tom’s check list making sure that every little detail of the new system and installation were reviewed and checked off.
The entire process from the sale to the very last detail was carefully planned and executed!

I have Del Air A/​C and service contracts in both of our houses. Your company doses what they say and at a fair price. No better recommendation needed.

I have had Del Air two years in a row come and service my unit. Jose was here last week and he was so very knowledgeable and did a great job, also explained everything to me. They didn’t try to say that I needed different parts, etc and just charged me for maintenance which I thought was very fair. If you’re having trouble with your air conditioning unit give them a call. I would definitely recommend them!

From the initial estimate call to the final install, Del-​Air was the consummate professional. Their salesman, Joe, gave us a detailed estimate that covered the entire install. He explained all of the options and made sure we very comfortable with the estimate. There were high pressure sales tactics at all. Once we made the decision to hire them, Joe took care of everything and had our install appointment made for the following Saturday. Their installers, Alex & Matt, installed the unit and treated my home as if it were their own. If you need an A/​C company, I don’t think you can go wrong with Del-​Air. Thank you Joe, Alex & Matt for making this process smooth and easy.

Paid them $ 26,000 for an air conditioning systems that squeels and keeps me awake all night. Keep calling them and no luck. Spoke to Brad Boshek about several issue and he basically was no help. Even rude. Total spent with them in 2 years is over $ 50,000 and he basically said «oh well» They will show up and they will do the work and they will take your money and then you are screwed if you want any customer service from them. Push them a little bit and watch the rudeness come out. Try it for yourself.

I had a newly built home. A/​C units were installed by Del-​Air. I ordered the filters that were currently in the handler online, when they arrived i found that one of the sizes was incorrect and the tech that installed the A/​C unit and the filter may have «adjusted» it to make it work for the time being. I was a little upset about this as i just purchased 6 filters online and they were all wrong.
I called Del-Air’s customer service team and the girl on the phone was very polite and apologetic. She was able to speak to her manager and make things right. I can tell that Del-​Air truly cares about their customers and will do what is right (even for something as small as air filters). Because of the level of customer service they provided me they will have a customer for life.

I had my AC serviced by my old AC company because it stopped blowing cold air. It took three different techs three different visits to finally tell me I had a bad compressor. The fourth visit was from sales and the sales guy claimed that I would not be able to fit a new air handler in the space where it would have to go. Not true.
Del-​Air was one of the 5 companies I called for a bid. Their bid was good compared to their competitors. One competitor wouldn’t even pass along a manufacturer rebate that was pretty significant. That competitor also proposed some extra duct work that I now know would have been totally unnecessary. They also called me to let me know that the unit I Was interested in would be noisy, and it would rattle. Little did they know, I already had it installed and it was running while he warned me of this. It barely purrs most of the time. It does not bang or rattle. So far, I am very happy with the new unit.
the install took a whole day. They made the air handler fit by lowering the platform a few inches which is minimally invasive compared to the alternatives posed by others. Mark and his team were very nice and did a good job. Joe was also very helpful.

BEWARE they specifically told us by phone that the cost of repair was deducted off the service call. They did not stand by this and RIPPED ME off charging me over $ 200 to replace a breaker a $ 30 part that took 10 min to replace! Call anyone else the worst experience ever BEWARE!!!

Called Del Air on Sunday for a/​c repair. Tech arrived mid afternoon, checked it out and told us that we needed an electrician instead. Said there was a short in the high voltage wire on the main panel. So we hired an electrician who came out and assured us our wiring was in good working condition, no short was found in any wiring. Today, we had another company come out and found the compressor burned out which they are replacing today. Wasted $ 79 on Del Air service call and given wrong diagnosis not to mention the expense of hiring an electrician unnecessarily.

Needed my interior A/​C unit serviced. Had to work through an issue with Carrier regarding my warranty, and over the course of that, I spoke to four different Del-​Air customer service agents. They were all dismissive, condescending, and impatient. It was clear that they function with the mindset that people contact them due to a need, not a want, and they do not need to treat people with respect in order to stay in business and keep their jobs.
A tech named Ryan came to do my $ 79 diagnostic. He determined that I needed a new module. He said the part would be ordered.
Customer service told me that, on the day of installation, I would receive a call sometime after 12pm, 30 – 45 minutes prior to the tech’s arrival. Instead, at 8:19am, I received a call saying he would arrive between 8:45 and 9:30. No one showed up. I called at 9:56 and was told that he had come and no one answered the door. Both my husband and I had been home all morning, awake since 8am. No one had knocked or rung our doorbell. Again I was told to expect them after 12pm, with a call 30 – 45 minutes prior.
Instead, at approximately 10:30, a truck showed up – no call prior — and parked under my shade tree, where it sat for over half an hour, loud diesel engine running (I had to shut my windows to stop its exhaust from continuing to waft through my house) and radio blaring, while I waited, wondering when he was going to come in. Then he left!
I called Del-​Air again at 11:11, and was told that I had told them to not send someone until after 1pm. I never said that. During this whole repair process — both visits — THEY had dictated to ME when they would come.
So the tech who had just left was told to come back. When making the appointment, I requested that the first tech be the one to install the part. Del-​Air said they would send him back. They did not.
After replacing the module, screwing the compartment’s front plate back on, and turning the unit on, the second tech, named Eoel, thought that the shut off delay was longer than it should be, so, instead of asking me to turn off the breaker to cut the power to the unit, he, without telling me what he was about to do, removed the front plate of the unit WHILE it was running, causing the suction inside the compartment to suck the fiberglass insulation attached to the backside of the front plate off, tearing chunks out of it. Some of the torn off fiberglass floated through the room around me. Other chunks got sucked into the blower inside the compartment that he had uncovered, sending fiberglass shards throughout our air duct system, which exited through all of our registers into all of the rooms of our home. He told me after he damaged our property that he took the plate off to see if the first tech had tripped the wire to override the shutoff. IF he had told me that first, I would have told him no, the first tech did not trip the wire, I know because I was standing right next to him as he worked.
Besides creating the obvious hazard of sending broken glass fibers through our air system and circulating throughout our home for us and our pets to breathe in, and leaving us with less insulation than we had when he arrived, this person representing Del-​Air created a mess that took me a full week to clean. He is a professional who works with these units regularly, how did he not know that the fiberglass was there and that he would create suction by removing the plate while the unit was running? He is either not properly trained, or he was intentionally careless. Neither is acceptable.
Additionally, if Del-​Air had kept its word and sent the first tech back, this would not have happened because the first tech would have known that he himself had not tripped the wire.
Del-​Air is rude, incompetent, reckless with and disrespectful of people and their property. Seek service elsewhere!

Wish I could give them less than one star! They are HORRIBLE! Came to my house on a Saturday because my air wasn’t working. Tech said I was very low on freon and probably had a leak. Could do a leak check for $ 106 which I was going to have him do… until he said «it’s probably your coil which will cost $ 3000 to repair/​replace and if you’re going to have to do that, you may as well buy a new unit. If the lines in the attic are leaking, we will have to replace all of the lines because we can’t solder in the attic because it might catch your house on fire.» Mind you… when they put a new air handler in your attic, they have to solder the copper to the unit IN THE ATTIC!!! Of course every bit of the 6 pounds of freon that he SUPPOSEDLY put in on Saturday afternoon had leaked out by Sunday morning. No way was I having them back, so I called a different A/​C contractor who found the leak in the attic and repaired it.

Their prices aren’t outrageous, they are determined to find/​fix the problem and I LOVE their annual service contracts — definitely worth the money.

I have a annual service contract with the company. They are very good about reminding me of my contract renewal and pretty good about sending bi-​annual maintenance reminders.
However, it is the typical frustrating repair schedule. You get an AM appointment and they show up at 12:00 pm. The technicians are clean, friendly and quick.
Nobody seems to be able to balance the system though. I have one room that is always really hot!
I would recommend their service.

Had an issue with my AC Sam came by and was very professional and did a service call on it. Glad to see my system is running good and has a good bill of health.
Will ask for Sam again in the future as he is an easy going guy. Who got to my unit and out in an hour.
Delair has an odd system for work orders, they don’t give a time estimate. Don’t like that you could be waiting for hours. Hire more guys if you have a problem scheduling people.

I used the review I found on this page as a basis for contacting Del Air. I had the same great experience. I called them on Friday at 6 and they came as promised on Sat morning. Samuel the tech was really cool and extremely knowledgable. He methodically checked each capacitor and the relay stations to figure out why the fan didn’t come on. He installed 2 new capacitors and a contact station and within an hour my air was working.
Best part was they have a flat fee of $ 79 to diagnose the problem. Plus the parts and very little labor cost and DONE. My air is working.

This is the company we used to replace our HVAC unit. We called for a quote on a Saturday morning, and two hours later a very professional, no BS guy showed up and just gave us the facts. He didn’t slam his competitors, though he did talk to us about the quality of various AC units and the benefits of all of them. He gave us two different options, one a bit more expensive than the other. The more expensive unit helped control humidity. He did not try to convince us to go with that option, though. He didn’t up-​sell us. He was just very confident about his price and his product. They came out the next Friday and installed the unit. It’s quiet, the installers were professional and cleaned up after themselves, and Del-​Air even handled the manufacture’s rebate for us.

If you get a call from your wife on a Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. that the AC just went on the fritz, things can’t be great. What are the chances that someone can come out the remainder of the day? Delair was the first one I tried, and that first call, they said «tomorrow». I tried a few other places, one of which says «it’ll be $ 105 just for diagnostics», which sounds like gouging on a summer afternoon in Florida. When those efforts proved unsuccessful, I gave Delair another shout, and this time, they said ‘yes’ (!? someone canceled? rep who tried harder?) Within 90 min. we had our repair guy arrive at the front door. As he’s opening the unit, he said, «I can already see that this is going to cost you $ 5,832 with a straight face. I caught on and said, «I know that trick — later you’re going to say it’s ONLY $ 4,000 and make me feel good». He laughed. Isn’t it wonderful to come across someone who’s at the end of a long hard day and still have a sense of humor? He promptly found the fried wire, replaced it, and ensured the system worked. Within the hour, he was gone. Damage was limited to $ 79 + $ 51 to «repair a typical wiring». Out of pocket a bit, you might say, but all in all, good news, and good service, Delair. There’s a reason you’re consistently rated highly.

When it felt like our AC wasn’t quite working right last summer, I started looking around for someone to come take a look at it. My mother recommended Del-​Air, but by the time I had a free moment to call and make an appointment, it was pretty late. Figuring that no one was in the office, I used their contact form. About an hour later, someone called to schedule an appointment. They said they could send someone that night (it was already 7pm). I said that it wasn’t an emergency, and could wait until the next day. They gave me a time frame of a few hours, but I work from home, so large windows don’t really bother me.
About an hour into the time frame, the serviceman called to let me know he was on his way, and would be at my place shortly. 20 minutes later, he was knocking at the door.
He was clean, courteous and explained everything he would have to do before doing it. He found an issue with the AC unit and explained the possibilities of what might have to be done before he went to examine further. Thankfully, we got away with a small repair instead of having to have large pieces replaced. He also showed us that we had been using the wrong size air filter (hey, we had been using the size that ryland — the home builders — told us to use). He gave us the correct sized one. After printing out a receipt and explaining every item on it, he was on his way.
We had Del-​Air come back out this winter for basic maintenance. once again, they were on time, and super polite. We went ahead and signed up for the annual contract that gets us two regular maintenance calls at a small discount, plus a discount off any parts we may need to buy for repairs. They also call to schedule your appointment when it’s time for another service.

If you’re looking for customer service, I think you may want to keep looking. After being treated rudely on the initial phone call and not even being given a window of time when I could expect the service person, I kept calling around.
I’m going with another service company, canceling the DEL-​AIR ticket. Just because all Floridians need AC doesn’t mean you can treat us like scum on the phone.
