I love going into Pixels. The staff is great and there is an awesome atmosphere there. The overall service is excellent and the prices are fair. Definitely the place to go for your photo needs!

Huge appreciation to the folks here. Got to town to shoot an event and realized I left batteries and charger at home. The staff here sorted me out with a sense of hometown courtesy and assistance. Will certainly bring my business back to them if ever in need in Salt Lake City.

They used to be great — have a different crew now and the quality is lacking.
I asked them to scan negatives ($ 2/​per image — which is 4x more expensive then most) show the brand logo on the film and the sprockets. Did about ½ the way I requested, and scanned an image of a sign backwards. Waste of time and money.

I was looking for a natural color light bulb. I saw all the review claims this is one stop for photographers but… they only had two types of light bulbs which were too bright for mine.
The staff was very friendly and knowledgable!

I had prints done here after a disaster at Kinkos. These guys were great. The prices were reasonable and they had all of my prints done within 24 hours, but most importantly was the quality. I was very happy with how they came out. Excellent quality and friendly service — will definitely use them again. Thanks!

Good variety of cameras, competitive pricing, and knowledgeable employees. I would have expected much better customer service. I called six hours in advance to get pricing on a camera and on the warranty for it, I was told they would have the price of the warranty by the time we arranged. When I arrived the price for the warranty was still a mystery. I came two days later, and got the warranty, but the lady helping me was less than pleasant. I want to support local businesses that is why I came here instead of Best Buy.

As a photographer, one never knows what the next shoot may hold and client might require… this week, had two vastly different client related needs:
One; a metallic print for a client — print needed to be a custom size for the correct balance of the image. My regular pro resources could not help as they do not do custom sizes. Client wants image fast! (Holidays!) — Pixels delivered. Amazing meticulous work, quick delivery. Happy client!
Second, job call 24 hours before the event. Huge job — and a printer is needed that will be easy to use and spit out prints fast on the event site. Pixels to the rescue again.
What struck me was the customer service. From my first phone call to Braydon?, to walking in with my images on disk and working with Lisa; to having an assistant trained on the ease of the printer by Ray? — I was impressed. Courteous, helpful, professional, understanding of my needs and concerns… Pixels has just won a customer.
Why hadn’t I used them before? Because of the drive from my home. Guess what? The drive is worth it.

Ray and Wayne and everyone else in this shop bend over backwards to help you. Honest, fair, and knowledgeable. What more could you ask for!
If they don’t have something, they will try their darnest to get it for you.

Pixels is a one-​stop shop for just about everything photographic. They sell cameras and lighting equipment, backdrops, tripods, printers, ink and paper, memory cards AND they also do first-​class printing and framing. If you are in the market for cameras one of the things I like best about Pixels is they only carry the best cameras.
Since they are an authorized Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Sony, and Lecia dealer that could mean they would have hundreds of different cameras, making buying a camera confusing and overly complicated. Instead of ordering everything Pixels chooses what to buy and tries to give consumers the best choices. For newbies one of the benefits of buying from Pixels is the one-​on-​one classes. If you buy a new camera from Pixels they’ll include a free one-​hour class in which they’ll teach you how to use your camera. This is a great way to start taking better pictures right off by learning how best to use your camera.
As mentioned before, Pixels also offers first-​class printing and framing. Whether you need small prints or beautiful enlargements they offer everything from quick minilab prints, amazing metallic prints, and beautiful inkjet prints on everything from luster and glossy photo papers to canvas and vinyl. Their framing shop is equally prepared to handle all of your framing needs.
Beyond a great selection of products and services Pixels has a helpful and friendly staff who provide excellent customer service.

I decided to use Pixels mini-​lab to print some party invitations a couple of weeks ago. I’d seen their work, and even referred my sister there, but hadn’t been in myself until then. It was a great experience.
I called, they had me email over my file and then had the prints ready (just a bunch of 4x6s), within 2 hours.
When I went to pick them up, I just mentioned my name and they remembered me and knew exactly which envelope was my order.
Also I mentioned that my sister had just recently been in to pick up the pics of her daughter. He asked her name, and remembered her as well and commented on how cute her baby’s pictures were. (Well really, how could you not remember, she’s pretty much the cutest baby EVER).
I already knew their prints were quality, I was very happy with my order, but I was even more excited to discover the amazing customer service and small business feel.
The most amazing thing is, their mini-​lab, everyday need, print prices are only slightly more than your ‘discount’ options. If you care about quality at all, definitely look here first.

Pixels is a photography store 2.0. As the name suggests, it’s all about the digital photography, with a definite focus (no pun intended) on digital SLRs, although they do stock point-​and-​shoots as well.
They carry both Canon and Nikon bodies and lenses, as well as some Olympus and Sony. They also have top-​brand accessories and offer rentals of some of these items.
What I like about Pixels is that they’re set up to turn your snapshots into photographs. They have both a «Minilab» for day-​to-​day prints, or a Custom Printing lab for more fine art or specialty projects. They offer a slew of specialty papers and mounting and each has a sample hanging in the store.
I’ve only ever used the minilab, but prints are head and shoulders above the muddy crud they churn out at the photo department of your local big box store.
They also have a full service framing shop, so you don’t have to stop with just a print. Custom framing has always seemed astronomically expensive (anywhere) to me but it’s available nonetheless.
In the center of the store is a classroom full of shiny computers where they teach classes on photography editing software (Lightroom, Photoshop, etc) and other subjects. Periodically they sponsor trips for adventurous photographers to places like Alaska, Africa, or Nepal. Yes, please!
Prices here are competitive with other brick-​and-​mortar photography places around town. Unfortunately, it’s tough for the locals to compete with the big boys and the cutthroat dot-​com electronics retailers. If you’re looking for a bargain basement deal, go elsewhere. But if you want a nice shop with friendly, knowledgeable staff and quality products and you don’t mind paying a couple more bucks, this is definitely the right place.
