Need a quick sit down Mexican dinner? This place is great! They are quick & food isn’t bad. I’m a Texan, so when it comes to Mexican food, I am very picky. Though this isn’t TexMex food… it’s still good! I’ve even had a party of 30 – 35 here & they still were on the ball & fast!

Wife and I love Mexican food, having spent much time in SoCal. We were leaving Lowes around lunch time and decided to try this new to us place. We ordered different stuff, but it was the same. Canned Roseritta sauce, canned chicken, canned beef, too much cheese. We were starving when we sat down and almost as hungry when we left. Wife’s cold, yet burned taco on a hot plate must have been a left over. Friendly service people, left a good tip. But never again.(waiting for the runs to begin).

Took them a few minutes to noticed I walked in, but I was greeted with a smile when they saw me. They have plenty of seething, which is great if you don’t like to be jammed among a bunch of strangers. First bite of the salsa let me know ilI wasn’t about to be let down. Delicious and flavorful homemade salsa and they leave you the bottle so you can pig out. Great portion of rice and beans, as well as a a hefty amount of chili verde and melted cheese atop the burrito. Best part, they served it to me hot and fresh within only 10 minutes. I get the check after eating this satisfying burrito and my total was $ 8.08. This gives them an extra star, they deserve the perfect rating.

I’m updating my review from 3 stars to 1. I’d give a –10 if possible! This is the 3rd time we’ve tried to order food a good hour or more before their closing time to be told they are closing or closed. I called in a hour and 15 minutes before they closed to be told I can not order. About a month ago I went in at 8pm to be told they are closed. The sign said they closed at 10. This happened another time as well! I have been in there numerous times at 8pm and they were still opened until 9 or 10. I in no way would go into a establishment right before close, not even 30 minutes before. But a hour or two I will. But I assume this place closes when they feel like it. I’m curious if the owner is even aware of this. They have a young man who greets at the front and also serves at times who is so rude! That kid has never once been friendly to us nor to other customers. In fact others that work near this restaurant that I know have mentioned to me how rude he is to them as well. We’ve given this restaurant a lot of business but no more! I’ll go give my money to a business who appreciates their patrons. I’ll go to a establishment who don’t treat their customers like they are a inconvenience. It’s no wonder this place never makes much business. The food other than your store bought tortillas is good. FYI the young man I’m referring to in this post was also the one who refused me service when I called in. It was a big order you lost out on.

Great food and really great prices. My wife and I have chosen as our new favorite. We order the chicken fajita smothered burrito. It’s awesome. They will also make it with steak if you ask. The prices are cheaper than café rio and food is better!

Awful customer service at this location! I called for over an hour trying to order food to go and they did not answer their phone. I thought they were out of business! When they finally answered, they told me it would be 15 minutes for my food. I arrived to pick up my food twenty minutes later, and waited in the line to pay for another 30 minutes! They had two employees on a friday night! What a joke! I would never go back to this location!

Decently priced Americanized Mexican food? Where do I sign up? Outside of being someone without a refined palate when it comes to Mexican food, there’s not much to hate or love with this place. Inside is clean and the food comes out fast and tastes decent, but it has a weird layout and is trying really hard to be authentic. The workers are friendly, but not all that attentive especially when it comes to getting a seat. With most of the places like this in Salt Lake, you’ll be better off to go to Red Iguana if you’re looking for standout Mexican, but you really can’t go wrong if you’re in the area and looking for something just quick and easy.

It’s … Mexican food! If you want average Mexican fare but aren’t looking to be surprised or impressed, this is the place you’ve been searching for. Tortillas with beans and meat in them? Check. Fried tortillas with meat and cheese and lettuce in them? Check. Tortillas with cheese in them and sauce on them? Check. Servers that bring your food and drink? Check. Amazing twist on an old classic, or a pleasant surprise to your taste buds, or an overwhelmingly positive experience that’ll have you coming back the next day? Nope, not here. Yep, La Fountain definitely a Mexican restaurant.

Much batter than what I remembered I tried the. Chicken fajitas upon the waiters recommendation, and I don’t know if it’s because I had a good drunk going but it was one of the best fajitas I’ve had. Highly recommended.

I am just going to say it. yum! My husband and I haven’t been here since our daughter was born but we love the shredded beef chimichanga! My husband gets this every time we go and of course I always try something new but have to have a bite(or several) of his. I also love the chicken fajitas. There was enough that I took home leftovers and it was so good the next day when nothing else could satisfy my pregnancy cravings. I did on one occasion try the chicken taco salad and there was more chicken than salad so I took the leftover shredded chicken home and made chicken tacos with it the next day. Decent pricing, awesome portion sizes and great customer service make this one of our favorite places to visit.

This place was awful. The cheese on my kids quesadilla was hardly even cheese. Not even melted. The guac was flavorless and the taco salad was horrible served with packaged sour cream. Just go to café rio.

Good service but wasn’t a fan of the food. We had tacos, burritos and quesadillas in our group and no one enjoyed them.

Let’s see, you’ve got your La Frontera, your La Puente, and now La Fountain is added to the mix. I honestly like this style of Mexican fare, and this has become my work lunch group’s go to Mexican choice with the Sandy location of La Frontera and Cantina at Jordan Commons both either the same distance or closer. I find the food to be about on par with La Frontera, so you are likely to like/dislike this place to the same ratio. What brings us here instead of the others? Their weekly lunch specials. At La Frontera you have to time your visit to the special of the day. Here they offer all week’s specials every day. This works well when a Thursday just feels like it should be a Tuesday. ;) Three and a half stars rounded up because I can’t give a half.

Hunger and curiousity was what brought me to this establishment. My phone was dead so it wasn’t possible to check Unilocal first and I kinda wish I had. Walked in for a take out order. Had never been before and the staff wasn’t exactly excited to have me there. They didn’t give me any dirty looks or anything but they weren’t exactly welcoming either. Having never been I wasn’t sure at all what I was going to get but I settled on a burrito platter and the super nachos. The boyfriend ate the burrito so I can’t say much for that other than it was an extremely messy thing to have in to go containers. I had the super nachos which weren’t really worth the money I spent on them. Hard to have a review on food that doesn’t really have any taste. Nothing seemed dirty or wrong with anything. Soon as we were finished though my boyfriend made the comment that I can cook better than that. I agree but I wasn’t in the mood to cook anything. If you are looking for a sub-par dinner you didn’t have to make yourself than this is the place for you. other than that I don’t plan on returning. One last strange thing though, They have a tip jar on the counter and when I handed the cashier a tip he refused it. I’m not complaining by any means about that, I just find it odd.

Great smothered burritos! They add good cheese too. The only downside my kids had beef burritos, some of the hamburger was very pink, light pink and dark pink. We did carry out, and I had to cook my kids something else because we didn’t have the time to go back. It also made it hard to enjoy the food with fully cooked meat, I questioned the cleanliness, safety, and quality of all our meals at that point. I hope they check their hamburger better before anyone gets sick.

The food tastes good, though there are MUCH better restaurants out there. Don’t expect 5 star dining and you won’t be disappointed. My biggest annoyance is that the prices seem to vary wildly. I order the same thing every time I eat here… smothered bean and cheese burrito with rice and beans. sometimes I’m charged 9 bucks sometimes 12. sometimes 10. get your prices right!

4 out of 4 people in our group say the food was terrible. It was like they just opened a can of sauce and dumped it on. NO flavor at all! Salt didn’t help and neither did salsa. No one finished their lunch. It looked really good but was completely tasteless. Mom’s comment was«WORST Mexican food ever!» Price would have been very reasonable if the food was better. The waitress was friendly but didn’t once offer to refill any drinks.

You can get any lunch menu any day. I recommend the chimichanga and the smothered burrito. Get onions on the smothered burrito. Good chips and salsa.

Service −7÷10 Chimichanga 8⁄10 Super nachos 2⁄10 Price. 7⁄10 The nachos were bland and cheap. Tasted like a 711 and classic skating mix. Cheap meat and lack of style, care, and flavor. Super let downs. Overall, just a run of the mill Mexican place from my experience

Smothered Burritos — Check! Delicious Salsa and Chips — Check! Went to this establishment on a double date. We were seated right away and instantly served some of the chips and salsa. Glanced at the menu as if I was even considering ordering something other than what I had come for. Smothered Burritos, not sure what the deal is but these restaurants have all different names but they all have the same recipe for smothered burritos. Perhaps I am a a fan of this recipe and a fan of the restaurants that do it right. This place does it right! I give this place five stars and I send you here with these words of wisdom. If it is your first time do yourself a favor and order the smothered burritos. This recipe is just impossible to not enjoy. Take the stress out of your lunch/dinner break/date and just say«smothered burritos please.» These restaurants like to serve the food with the plate hot so don’t make the rookie mistake of touching the plate when it comes out. They always give you fair warning that the plate is hot anyways. Welcome to Sandy La Fountain, I hope I can visit you here for years to come! Fellow Unilocalers, check this place out and post your thoughts. I like to know if restaurants maintain their high level of service in case I don’t get to come back for a few months.
