In order to serve the most authentic food, we make our own yogurt, and cheese every day. We hand grind all of our spices to perfection and carefully season every dish and don’t use preservatives. We love to meet here with friends and eat wonderful tasting Indian food. I like stone fired naan and enjoy that it was not burnt. There is an old world feel to this place and the décor. I think this is a gem in Sandy.

I had some awesome butter chicken and garlic naan here. I was hoping to have some brown rice, but every time I asked the server if they had brown rice, she didn’t seem to understand the question and eventually told me they had the normal white rice. However the food was delicious and the rest of the service was fantastic.

This place is absolutely amazing!
Their mango chicken curry and buttered chicken dishes are incredible! And they definitely have some of the best buttered nan I have had in the valley! Those three items split between me and whoever else I’m with at the time constitute my favorite meal!
If you want a good meal India House is definitely the place to go!

Worst customer service. I have Been going to this restaurant for years but this time they made a wrong order (to go) only $ 5 order and when i told arun he was so rude he said this is what you ordered you can throw in the garbage but we wont return it. No apology instead he started being rude to me which he surprised me. He didnt make another order he said i have to order new one. he disappointed me how they treated me. I asked him who is the owner he said he is. I called my husband he stopped by and spoke with arun, arun got nervous & started saying sir, sir, sir… than started making stories. Just for few bucks i was surprised they wasted our time and loss there loyal customers. He finally gave the gill’s number to my husband he said he is the owner. We spoke with the owner all he said ok, ok, ok and than he hanged up on me.

I had a strange incident. I ordered take out and arrived early. I waited outside for a few minutes before coming in to check out because I knew I was early. Some customers inside were staring at me which is a common occurance in Utah of course. But the customers must have complained because a young man charged up to the front door with his hands on his hips. I’m talking like one inch from the door. Then I go in and check out with a nice young lady. The guy comes out and I say «hi» but he doesn’t say hi back. I guess something is lost in translation but I read another post about waiting a long time in front. Food was ok. Peshwari naan was the best in town. Just a funny vibe. I guess they’re rich now and don’t kowtow to anyone anymore like in the old days. It’s more like «Here’s your food now get out»

Food was fantastic! Service was not, but I will go back. A friend and I decided to give the place a go after hearing a lot of good things about it. When we got there we were waiting 3 – 4 minutes without being greeted because the was no host, I looked around the corner just as someone who worked there came to seat us. We were day and it took about the same amount of time if not more for the same person to come take our order. It looked like they were understaffed, and I probably have higher expectations than some because I have been working in the service industry for years now. Aside from that the food was great! We ordered the paneer pakaras (?) And the chicken curry with medium heat. It was all good, I think I would go spicier next time around and try something else to try more of their menu.

Wow!!! This place really hit the spot! If you have been looking for amazing Indian food… let me recommend this place. The aroma that fills the place when you step in exhibits the deliciousness of the food they offer. I went in with a friend just to try it out and we got out of there very very pleased. The Naan was so yummy and it seemed just right out of the oven. We both had lamb dishes and finished every last drop of it. Wish I would had some left overs because I was craving it the next day… Yummm!!!

Bottom line– As far as traditional Indian restaurants go, this is my favorite in SLC.
To try–
Chilli Chicken, Tandoori dishes
Taste– 9⁄10 Haven’t tried a whole lot of dishes here, but the stuff I have tried has been exceptional
Value– 8⁄10 A bit pricey for Indian foods
Service– 9⁄10 Service is spot on!

Excellent food, comfortable dining area. Service was acceptable. Worthy of a visit. Wait for food was very well timed. Portions sizes are spot on.
The Gulab Jamun was served nice and warm which was wonderful compared to the boring chilled served elsewhere.
When I was here the dining area was very quiet. I was the only diner when I entered, but a couple other groups arrived while I was eating.

First off, the naan selection is amazing. I wanted to order nothing but naan. I had boti lamb with my naan and was impressed with the spices used. I requested medium heat and it was perfect. The butter naan was pretty plain — get one of the special ones and enjoy!

This was a very nice convenience place to grab Indian food in the Sandy area located just off State St. The interior was average in size, can fit a med size party, and ambience was a bit dark.
The naan here was probably one of the best I ever had in state, very nice consistency in the fluffiness within the bread itself, and they have many styles and flavors to choose from too.
We tried a few of their curries, the karahi with lamb was a decent combination, and their curry coconut korma was great as well. Portion was fair compared to places in town.
Indian House turned out to be a nice close by place to grab Indian food in the Sandy area, and they are a relatively close to a fun zone if you are into augmented reality gaming.

I like this place.
I don’t know that it’s the best possible Indian food in the history of the Salt Lake Valley but I think it’s worthy of my continued patronage.
I’ve had dinner and I’ve had the buffet. Don’t expect a dollar menu because those only exist at McDonald’s.
I have a favorite Indian restaurant but these guys are open on Sunday. That alone is enough for me to return.
Quality ingredients, good service, average prices. (What it’s it about Indian food here that makes it at least 25% more than anything else?) Don’t care for location or ambiance but eating out is more about eating than anything else.
I’ll be back.

Guys, if you had good Indian food then you don’t want to go to this place.
Do not let the 4 stars full you!!!
1: Mango Lassi was Orange when I asked why, they told that they put colorant inside! What???
2: Coconut korma had 0 flavor.
3: Lamb was dry and hard.
4: Chicken Tandori wasn’t even marinated. It was in a Paprika/​Tomato kind of sauce.
Horrible!
Come to Vegas if you want to eat good Indian Food!!! Sorry…

India House made me fall in love with Indian food.
Specifically the chilly chicken — it’s amazing. It can be quite spicy if you get it hot so opt for medium for the best enjoyment. Add a garlic naan and you’ve got a great meal ahead of you.
The servers are attentive and they take such good care of you. This place is like the jewel of Midvale (not that they have a lot of competition — but still).

This has been one of my favorite Indian places for a long time, but it’s got a lot more competition now.
What I’m realizing about Indian food in general is that
1. I believe it is overpriced no matter where you go. Don’t get me wrong, I am willing to overpay every once in a while because I don’t want to take the time and effort to make it myself. Nevertheless… My boyfriend is a big eater, and after 2 orders including rice, we were both still hungry.
2. Every place is going to have dishes that they do better than others. For example, this place has one of the best lamb saags. Conversely, I find their chicken coconut korma to be lacking the rich creaminess of other restaurants.
3. Seems like a lot of people are going for the lunch buffet, which I have no experience with.
4. I know some places give you «free» naan, but usually their entrees are more expensive. This place is not a free naan place, that being said, their garlic naan is lovely.
I think part of the problem is that the bf and I don’t eat flour, and so we don’t get full on the carbs like other people do. If we had our druthers we would druther the entrées big bigger and with more meat. Still, the flavors here are nice and we will keep it on our list of Indian food go to’s.

I love Indian food and this place is mediocre compared to Bombay house. It looks like they have buffet line for lunch but I came for dinner. The chicken coconut korma was great, however I wish there was more meat. I think there were only 6 pieces for $ 12.99. I couldn’t remember the other red curry dish that was ordered but it tasted like canned spaghetios and I didn’t like it at all. It was one of their special dishes. I love pershwarmi naan! I think it’s better than garlic naan. In also not a big fan of sweets but the pershwarmi naan is great! Indian coffee tastes a little like chai tea. Not as strong as tandoori.
Environment is pretty cozy but it can be loud as there are lots of seating places and a buffet line.

Thee best Indian food in the valley, hands down. We love India House.
They have the best chicken tikka masala around. We come here often because we crave this dish. We always get garlic naan. The pashwari naan is amazing for dessert too, if we aren’t too full. I recommend the mango lassi. Good service too. No complaints about this place. They’re better than the rest.

Big fan! This town has some solid Indian choices and often times it comes down to how close I am to the nearest restaurant.
I also get the same dish so I might not have the most interesting review. Chicken Tikki Masala and Garlic Naan. I always order it Calcutta hot and they deliver.
