Sips n Strokes

What a great group activity! We had a birthday party here and everything went very well. You’re allowed to bring in food and drinks (alcohol is very OK) but must provide your own plates, cups, etc. The staff was helpful and friendly. Most of us hadn’t done any painting since high school or college and yet everyone left with a completed canvas. The range of pictures really was amazing. This was a fun & relaxed evening. Nice that Meehan’s is a few doors down if you want to grab drinks after the artwork is finished. Will definitely return!

What a fun outing — with a piece of art to show for it. I celebrated my birthday here on a Friday night with a gaggle of girlfriends. Sandra was our instructor. She was terrific. We made a bit of a drinking game out of her reference to «guys.» I was really impressed that she instructed on two different paintings at a time. Two thumbs up!

I had an awesome time here! It was pretty pricey for two people to paint but the class was 3 hours long. Our paintings ended up looking good enough to hang in the living room thanks to the help from staff members. It was a fun experience. I would def go back.

I truly had an amazing time with Sips & Strokes. Absolutely amazing atmosphere with great staff. Everyone was friendly & very helpful.
Great instructions with no judgement & fab supplies. I def recommend & def will be returning.
I recommend you bring some snacks, because even if you’re not hungry the person next to you with the huge bag of Doritos will make you wish you brought something. Oh, and one bottle of wine is just not enough!

This was a fun experience… Definitely for those that are kinda beginners at painting since the instructor goes through the entire painting with you. But I’m sure any advanced artists can enjoy it by adding their own flare to the painting.
My friend and I went on a Thursday night that had a choice between two paintings. We made our reservations online separately and paid when we got to the studio. It was a small class and ended up being just six of us there.
We ended up with another choice of painting because two sisters asked if they could do a cherry blossom painting and the instructor included it during the lesson as well. She was nice… I think her name was Kimmy… again I’m bad with names. But she took time helping everyone individually and made painting seem so easy. I swear if I tried to do the same painting at home it would’ve ended in a tragedy.
But I would definitely do this again in a heart beat. I love artsy things and using my hands.
Let’s see a few more things… The studio is in the large shopping center with Krogers so there’s plenty of parking. Also their sign isn’t lit up so they’re easy to overlook, but Sips and Strokes is across from the Krogers under the salon. The only alcohol you can bring is wine and any food is allowed just as long as you dispose of your trash. Other than that… channel your inner Bob Ross… and go paint some happy little trees…

My fiancé and I went to sips and strokes for the start of our date. We enjoyed every bit of the experience we laughed and had fun. The instructor was enthusiastic, gave great direction, and was quite humorous. There also was some staff that went around and helped if we got lost in the direction The instructor gave. The staff was very also encouraging and helpful.
I will be going back to do some more paintings and this time I plan to take my mother, sister, and niece!

Great experience at a reasonable price. Instructors take their time to show you how to paint a master piece. You may not seem to be much of an artist going in, but you will be proud of yourself heading out.

This place is really nice, this was my second time going for a birthday party. The instructors really make you feel like your an Artíst! My painting came out fabulous! I want to take my husband on a date night here.

I love this location! My 2^nd time in less than 2 months. Sandra is awesome and leads the most enjoyable class. My sister and I went to start our holiday festivities… my wreath didn’t quite turn out as I’d wished and Devon transformed it into the most beautiful portrait! I actually squealed with excitement when she came around the corner to show me. We’ll see you next month!

This review won’t be super long because I don’t have much to say other than the fact the this place is fabulous. They take you step by step and make sure that you don’t leave until you are happy with your painting. I went for my birthday and they even gifted me with a painting of my choice. Very very cool!

Awesome time!!! Me and some friends went last night and had a great time. This is a must do!
The environment was very relaxed and suited for a great night of sipping and painting. The staff was great and very helpful. They even helped me fix a few imperfections with my painting.
And with a smile, they even put up with us after a few drinks.
We will be going back and bringing more friends!

I had an awesome time! It was a girl’s night out event and it was better than any happy hour or ladies night anywhere! The instructor is very patient and so laid back. She makes you feel like you can paint anything! Every time I thought I screwed up, she would casually reassure me that anything can be fixed! And she was right! If only that rule applied to life! I am definitely coming back with the girls and it will also go into rotation for a date night. Everyone is helpful and they all work together as a team, which made the whole experience that much better. Great job ladies! My picture is a masterpiece! :-)

Awesome time at our work team building activity today. This place is awesome. They do step by step of how to paint sessions. Even if you think yours will look like a 5 year old painted it, it really turns out great.
This was my 2 time painting at SnS. Can’t wait to go back again.

I LOOOOOOVED this place! Very casual, yet professional environment. The teacher was great and the staff was friendly. I even asked if they had any type of membership program because i’m already planning several more trips.

I am a 40-​year old woman with the mind of a 12-​year old boy and I couldn’t stop giggling at the name of this place. Sorry, not sorry.
Once I got over my giggles, I really enjoyed my time at Sips n’ Strokes. I enjoy art and did a little drawing in high school, but I haven’t picked up a brush in a really long time… so naturally, I was intimidated. Since you might be intimidated, too, here’s what happens:
You receive a canvas with your choice of two pictures already sketched on them. You don’t have to worry about drawing, you just have to worry about painting.
The staff instructs you on which colors to put on your palette and how much you’ll need or how many «pumps» (and again, I start giggling) you’ll need from each gallon of paint.
You find a spot, start sipping your wine and await instructions.
The instructor walks you through the painting so thoroughly that this is practically paint-​by-​numbers. If your painting is not looking like you envisioned, there are helpful artists around to assist you. Or just drink more wine until it starts to look better.
My visit to Sips n’ Strokes (heh) was a great date night, but this would also be a fun girl’s-night-out or fun twist for a birthday or bachelorette party because the studio is brimming with a festive laid-​back vibe. You don’t need talent for this, you just need be adventurous!

Came here for a college alumna get together & had a blast! I had never been to one of these but I’d heard such good things so I was very excited. There was a large group, 83 people so it was a bit tight but they were super accommodating. The instructor was excellent– she went slowly enough to follow along with but not so slow to get dull. The assistants walking around were wonderful too, very encouraging & complimentary!
I can’t wait to do this with my friends! I’ll defiantly be back!

My friends took me here last week (¹⁰⁄₁₉) to celebrate my birthday. I have always wanted to go and this was the perfect gift! Also, if you mention it is your birthday they will give you a gift of choice. You can choose a free painting by one of the instructors or a gift certificate for a future class (although the paints were great, I choice the gift certificate). BYOB is a great addition to the fun of the class! You can also bring food! We did a 3 hour class and it was well worth the time… sipping and painting; who wouldn’t want that fun! The instructors are great and very patient for those like me who are painting challenged! This is a great date night or a girls night out! Next time I will try it out with my husband.

I loved this place. Awesome activity for a girls night out or even couples. You can bring food and drink and they guide you through a painting. They post the painting you will do on their website and it is best to pre-​register because the classes fill up fast, especially the Saturday night classes.
They have a private party room which you can do a different painting from the general group.
Overall I had a blast and I can’t wait to go back. No art background necessary!

I have had an obsession with Sip N Strokes. You can tell by the fact that they are all over my apartment. I have been to both Georgia locations.
I love the Sandy Springs location. Very helpful and extremely talented instructors. They usually have $ 25 paintings Tuesdays and Wednesdays. It’s great for a group party, birthdays, dates, etc. People bring food and of course something to sip on while they paint. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know how to paint. They teach you step by step. I fell in love with painting so much I ended up buying my own brushes and palette. The obsession will continue. I’m going again later this month :)

I went to this location yesterday and had a ball. I’ve been to other businesses with similar concepts and this was probably my favorite experience so far.
First, it’s in a great location. It is easy to find and parking is a breeze. It is right in the same shopping center with the Kroger. I arrived early and talked to the staff to understand the alcohol policy. They are still working with the city of Sandy Springs so you cannot bring alcohol in yet, but it is coming. But, it was not an issue, because my friend and I walked over to Teela Taqueria, and using a great coupon the Sips N Strokes staff gave me, we enjoyed free tacos and drinks (not free) while we waited for our class to begin. Teela Taqueria was one of a few eating options right in the same plaza. So I realized you can head to the plaza a bit early, park in front of Sips N Strokes, and walk to a nice place to eat.
After we ate, we walked to Kroger and purchased dessert and drinks to take with us to the art studio. We then walked back to Sips N Strokes and got settled into the seats we had already picked out prior to heading over to Teela Taqueria.
Our instructor was Teresa and she was great, along with her assistant. Teresa had a great personality and was almost a performer as she walked us through the painting. During a couple of intervals after we’d painted, while we waited for paint to dry, we took quick breaks. During those breaks, attendees walked over to get adult beverages. So while you can’t bring in a drink yet, there’s ample opportunity to sip on an adult beverage outside of the studio during a break. In between adult beverages, you can sip on other drinks also.
So my friend and I sipped, ate our desserts, and generally fellowshipped with those around us. The group was pretty friendly and that was nice as well (and they probably got friendlier after the breaks where they went off to get drinks). Another plus about this venue is it’s size. I’ve gone to another similar paint and sip business and while the experience was good, the place was quite cramped and their one bathroom was actually a bit of a turn off (again, at the other paint/​sip place I went to). On the other hand, this place had a ton of room to move around, and a side that was almost a gallery, so you could spend time walking around and looking at art. And this place has two bathrooms, both of which were clean.
Overall, my painting and experience was great. I’m looking forward to going back. Also, I noticed that the shopping center was home to a nice club/​lounge — Three Sheets. You really could come to this City Walk Shopping Center and easily have a great full evening and just walk between venues — you can eat dinner at Teela Taqueria or Meehans — and enjoy discounts to boot (ask Sips N Strokes about the discounts/​coupons for Teela’s and Meehans). You can then grab some snacks and desserts from Kroger and then go to Sips N Strokes. When you are done, you can put the paintings in the car and head over to Three Sheets.
I’m looking forward to returning to this Sips N Strokes. My fingers are crossed that the next experience will be just as good.
