Guy manning the range check-​ins seemed a bit over tasked for a Sunday morning. Range was decent & well ventilated. Staff in the sales department was VERY helpful and patient! Will I go back, yup. Four stars because the range seemed a bit out dated with distance markings. Cost of membership sees, ms a bit pricey, so holding off in that.

We love coming to SSGCR. The shop is the cleanest gun store I’ve ever been to, very well organized, and the staff are all helpful. I first came here to shoot on a Ladies’ night with a friend. We had a great time, it was affordable, and the gentleman at the range counter was informative and respectful. Not something you find at every range.
I came back with my husband and went shooting for him to test out pistols. He ended up buying a compact pistol that was on special, as they do run sales pretty often. The guys behind the sales counter are great and never breathe down your neck. They recommended a really good holster, which my husband purchased. It took forever to receive the holster from the supplier, but that’s not actually a shop issue. They stayed on top of informing him about the delays.
Lastly, the most recent range day we took was over thanksgiving weekend. The shop doesn’t charge you per lane per hour, so be warned. Individuals are charged for a day fee and you can shoot all day if you really want. The range is well kept and lit. There was a breeze down range for some reason, but it wasn’t a big deal and I’d rather be warm than freezing in there anyways.
They had some really good deals on everything from a range bag to an assault rifle, and also ammo. Will return. Wish I could afford a membership!

Decent range but the gun store is way overpriced. Gun transfers ($ 50) are about double what they should be. Good selection on suppressor but 20% higher than what you can find on line. The range is clean and the staff is knowledgable and friendly.

Great staff, great store and members lounge. Fair prices and plenty of shooting options. Highly recommend.

As an avid firearms enthusiast, I have seen both good and bad gun stores. Sandy Springs Gun Club is at the top of the best. I have been a member for a little over six months and frequent the range shooting both handguns and rifles. The range is state of the art and the employees are always friendly and accommodating. I purchased a rifle online several months ago and the transfer was seamless. They even went through the basics of it, like field stripping and cleaning. You would be hard pressed to find a better firearm store than SSGC!

So so range.
Went there last night about 7:30pm. Staff was friendly except for this one short little fella in a baseball cap. Acted like he did not want to be there.
Other staff was very friendly!
Nice inventory of guns and accessories.
Actual range is very small. Not many lanes. Plus it was a little dirty. Other patrons had not swept up their spent casings. Range is not well lit. I could barely see sights on rental gun.
Good prices.
I read other review about safety concerns and that is pretty terrifying. I did not witness anything like this but still makes me pause. Range officer was not around much. Maybe because it was close to closing.
Not a very good viewing area.
I will try another range when I come back to the Atlanta area.

I wasn’t going to leave a negative review because I met the owner and she seems like a nice lady. But I just tried to mount my can and I’m freaking over it. This whole ordeal has been nothing but a nightmare. All I can say is these people are maliciously bad at what they do. I say maliciously because there’s no way anyone is just honestly that bad at what they do. They have to be doing it on purpose.
Without going into boring detail, they sat on my form 4 suppressor transfer paperwork for a month before I could get «the person who does that» finally got it submitted. THEN after my stamp came back, they sat on it for ANOTHER month. Even after I called them to check status, they dismissively said it hadn’t come back. I finally called the ATF, who told me I should have gotten it a month prior. WTF, over?! I called the store and forced the issue and lo and behold they found it. They later claimed they’d called me when the stamp came in. Nope, sorry, but you didn’t. I use Google voice and every call is logged. I went through every call and there was nothing from the store.
So, I finally get my can home, get suppressor sights and an AAC barrel installed in the host and go to mount it… and it’s the wrong freaking piston. When I ordered it (they had to form 3 it), I asked for a .578×28 piston. When I picked it up, I didn’t even think to check that because I was pissed off they’d screwed up the paperwork so bad, I was more concerned about serial numbers and such. So now I get to shell out another $ 80 for the proper piston they should have had on the can to begin with.
I’ve got another can pending from this shop and after that, it’ll be a cold day before I buy anything else form this place.

Awesome place to go shooting. The customer service is top notch and and staff is super friendly. Their prices are competitive and they also have great discounts on ammo. Over all, I highly recommend it.

The first time I visited this range over a year ago I was actually pretty excited about it after leaving. It was close to home and the staff was very friendly.
I’m not too sure what happened here but the last couple times I’ve gone my experience was not so desirable.
The staff has turned in to a group of guys that think they are better than their customers and have the «know it all» attitude. There’s only one thing worse than a «know it all» and that’s someone that acts this way but feeds you information that is completely incorrect. It’s actually pretty hilarious.
Like I mentioned above. The location and group of friendly employees a year ago when I first went made this place worth going to regardless of the pricing and quality of range but now the combination of rude employees, overpricing and below average ranges I now prefer to drive a little farther to Sharpshooters in Alpharetta.

After going here for the first time today, I know this place is going to be our go-​to gun range. The folks at SSGCR were very friendly and helpful. I even witnessed them advise a couple to NOT use a .45 to begin learning :) When I asked them how long we were in there (when we were paying) they mentioned that they don’t charge by the hour for the lane rental like most places and it was around ~$ 35 for just the lane rental for 2 people. I didn’t use the check in here on Unilocal,but I think I will next time!

4 of us went to the Sandy Springs Gun Club and Range yesterday and found it to be a clean, safe and well run facility, and very competitively priced!
Jeremy was helpful in explaining rules, insuring we had necessary eye and ear protection, and explaining different firearm rental options and target choices.
We plan on going back to try one or two of the rifles available for rent.

If you are an LEO do not shoot here. I was there a little while ago and of course, I was carrying my backup gun road ready, as I always do when I am off duty and they told me that I had to remove my mag and lock the slide to the rear, I told them I was a police officer and showed them my badge and ID and they said it doesn’t matter the rule applies to everyone, so I turned around and walked out.
As a police officer, I am always carrying off duty everywhere I go. I will not unload my gun for anyone. What pissed me off the most is that their employees all carry but they won’t allow police officers to do that? I mean, I understand Billy Bob who doesn’t know a trigger from his wee wee having do all that but a police officer? Really? No thanks. There are other ranges that allow officers to carry inside their range, and Ill be going there.

Had an amazing first experience shooting. David is a great resource to connect and speak with. We will definitely be shooting now on a regular basis and develop the skills necessary to be proficient. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable.

Having driven by SSGC about a hundred times decided to stop in one day and check the place out. If you are looking to purchase a little something guns, cases, lock boxes, clips, ammo and even membership is available. If you are having issues with a gun there is a gunsmith on site. Walking through the doors I was immediately greeted, all of my questions were answered and the pricing explained.
I was so excited about shooting that I showed up the next day and after signing a waiver, buying shells & targets it was time to put on the earpiece and get started. One of the guys at the counter came with me as I wanted him to show me how to use the gun I brought with me he took one shot and nailed the bulls eye then hands the gun to me «thanks a lot that’s not setting the bar high.» For the next hour I would reload and fire away.
Unlimited range time for women $ 14.00 men $ 19.00.
Are you in the market for a new gun and can’t decide if you want 380, a 9 mm or maybe a 45 they have a couple of cases filled with guns to rent for a fee of $ 10.00, when you are done with one turn it in and ask for another.
Ladies, listen up if you want to skip the range fee go on Thursdays we get free time all day !
My first time at Sandy Springs Gun Club only set me back $ 37.00 this includes two boxes of ammo, three targets, range time (I stayed an hour) earpiece and instruction not bad.
Looking forward to going back very soon want to come with drop me a note you won’t have to twist my arm for a visit here.

As far as the staff and range is concerned the place is great. I have been to several ranges were the staff are complete elitist douches. Here on the other hand, the staff is very friendly and treat patrons equally whether it be the novice shooter or the seasoned vets.
As for as other reviewers mentioning issues with costs, well sure they have increased a lot. Not any more than any other brick and mortar store. If you want a deal buy online but if you have to do local expect the costs to be high in most smaller gun stores.
As far as the range is concerned I have to admit I’m happy they are very AR friendly. They allow rapid fire which is nice because most indoor ranges just don’t have the ventilation systems that can handle it. Sure if nice to fire off my AR like a nut and not have a sore throat from the black powder.
I will agree with some of the other Unilocalers that there has been a lax in some of the safety on the range. Although perhaps only the avid shooter may notice the safety issues they are there. But I still think this is a good place for the avid shooter to go and a great place for the novice to go if they are there for a class.
The reason I didn’t give them 5 stars was a mix of the ability for the staff to handle clients in a timely manner at the range coupled with the safety issues I have seen. But those issues aren’t that bad otherwise I wouldn’t have given them 4 stars.

Yet another gun shop that has raised prices beyond belief. Regardless of the madness that’s taken place in the gun world, there is no excuse to sell Glock magazines (regular, Glock 27 mags… not 30 rounders) for $ 45.
Another downside to this store is that it’s mostly a gun range. They have a very small amount of inventory. The staff seemed too busy to help, and all their prices, especially gun prices, were very very high.

Well, they impressed me enough that I got a membership. For me personally, it was the best deal around. Unlimited shooting and the ability to drop by and fire just a few shots if I want. That made it worth it right there.
Are there cheaper place to shoot? Maybe, maybe not. I had been going to an outdoor rifle range on the west side, which I still like and will occasionally go to. Here is the problem — by the time I drove there and back the «cheap rates» had become WAY more expensive!!! So when I need to sight in a rifle I’ll still go, but for pistol and ²⁵⁄₃₅ offhand rifle shooting SSGR it is!!!
There are, and this is what keeps it from being five star rated, much cheaper places to buy accesories, etc… the convenience factor is definitely priced in, and it is worth something to be sure. I’m pretty good about planning purchases though and end up getting most of my supplies via the internet due to this.
The folks I’ve met so far are extremely friendly and seem to really welcome new shooters and want to help them. From my personal experience this isn’t as common as you’d think! there are a lot of know-​it-​alls in the gun business… I haven’t done any training at SSGR yet, nor have I used their armory. I’ll be curious to see how that goes.
Oh, and you can shoot anything short of a 50 BMG there. For me, that is a bonus.

The only «bad» thing I have to say about this place? They’re a little expensive. (The first time I came here, there was a Lamborghini and an Aston Martin in the parking lot.) So it would seem they know their market. Unfortunately, I’m in the «I’m lucky it still runs» category. But other than pricing, I’m a fan of this range. Sandy Springs Gun Club is clean, well lit, and well ventilated. Staff is always friendly and approachable. Laid back, even. And they take reservations! (But not on the weekends.)

This is probably one of my favorite ranges in Atlanta. I have a couple of reasons why:
They are clean. You won’t be breathing in lead when you walk in. Everything about this range is spotless: their range, their bathrooms, and everything inside.
You can shoot most pistol and rifle calibers. They have both pistol and rifle ranges. Some ranges won’t even allow you to shoot .357 SIGs or even .22 magnums out of a small derringer. I’m happy that this place will let you shoot almost any caliber.
If you love to shoot, this place seems like a bargin. For about $ 20, you can shoot forever! They don’t have any of that 1 hour limit. Of course, if you don’t shoot a lot, it’s not so good. But if you have a lot of guns or like to throw a ton of bullets down range, this looks like the perfect place to do it for me.
I would give this place 5 stars, but I do have some gripes:
Their parking lot is small. I guess I’m used to gun ranges in strip malls with huge parking lots. This is just a building by itself with a tiny lot. It would be a good idea to carpool if you guys are coming as a group.
They are slow to check in. They take their time when taking their customers for the range. Also, I don’t think they have enough people working behind the desk. And even if they do, they move at a slow pace.
Their ranges have good ventilation, but it can get hot in there. I don’t know if they have airconditioning on, but I don’t think those fans do it.
Also, I would not buy a gun here. This looks more like a range than a store. Their prices seem a lot higher than other places. I would definitely shop around to buy a gun. I’m pretty sure I could find much better prices at different locations.
Overall, this is a range for shooters who are looking for handgun or rifle practice. I give it solid 4 stars.
