Braids & Weaves by Awa

I throught i went to get my hair done at a shop but before I could get there she said to come to her other business, which was a shea butter store. I went, this was my first time trying her services. And i will not be returning or recommending her to anyone. She had a chair set up in the back of the store. Half way through she asked me to pay her, which I did. To make long story short don’t go there she did not trim my hair well. She also had my twist in different lengths. I had to go to another shop today to get it fixed and I had to pay a addition 30 dollars for that. She braids way to tight if you complain she will start a argument with you. I am totally unsatisfied with her services and the price. The hair she buys is cheap and will not curl.

I have been getting braids for years… as far back as I can really remember! However, I have never had such a personable and amazing experience as I did with Awa! She was so accommodating and welcoming. Not even to mention flexible! Beyond just her excellent customer service, the braids that she did were OUTSTANDING! They are neat and well done! To top it all off, she was finished in less that 4 hours. That’s unheard of! Plus her prices are the best in town. I’m was going to another braiding shop in Sandy Springs, but not anymore. Now that I have met Awa, I am here to stay. We even found out we live in the same apartment complex in SS. A great ‘artist’ right in my backyard. If you are looking for quality braids, and a reasonable price, look no further. Braids & Weaves by Awa is where you need to go. Hands down, and 2 thumbs up!!!

First, I would like to say the Awa is a very personable person and the tree braids and Senegalese twists I saw her do were beautiful and neat. On the other hand, the back of my micro braids are a hot mess! I went to the shop the day before and let her know what colors I wanted. Got there the next day and she didn’t have my color so I had to go to the store to get it (she was gracious enough to deduct the price of the hair from the total). The hair that I got was not what she was used to and in a shorter length (16inches) and she said it is what causes my braids to be about as thick as 2 strands of hair at the ends. Ok, we resolved that issue. While Awa was braiding the back I noticed she wasn’t braiding tight and she was done fairly quickly. On the drove home, one braid fell out and the others were soo loose they were on the verge of slipping out. Also, the braids in the back were so far apart all you could see was scalp. Fatima did a great job on the front of my head but the back had to be redone by another shop because I didn’t want another headache of it not being right again.
