Alterations Next Door is a unique service that’s available to you at your home or office. That’s right… I’ll come to you for fittings and measurements, pickup your garments and deliver them back to you at no extra charge.

I haven’t met many projects I won’t tackle. I specialize in clients with hard to fit sizes who routinely require more extensive alterations rather than just hems, tapering or zipper replacements. Don’t get me wrong, I do that too…

I like to dabble in anything that needs a needle and thread, so I welcome special projects too. So bring me your challenges and let’s make it happen.

History

Established in 2011.

Over 22 years of sewing experience gained sewing everything from doll clothing, to high fashion garments, to costumes, but in January 2011 I finally gave my primary work a name and a purpose. I love providing a service of convenience to my clients. So guys, if you like the European cut and hems… I do that; Ladies if you’ve lost the baby weight, boyfriend weight, or old you weight, but want to keep your designer clothes,…I can nip it with a cinch and a tuck.

I love what I do… which is to make my clients happy by reconstructing or mending their cherished clothing so that they’ll look great in them.

My service has evolved beyond that as I’ve met so many wonderful people in this business with whom I’ve shared wisdom, a listening ear and a ton of advice. Many are talented, intelligent, and compssionate individuals who I’m glad to have met.

I’ve tackled quite a few challenging projects off the alterations path, like making an owl mascot costume (body), table covers, hanging drapery hardware, custom bedroom soft furnishings, reupholstering and more.

Here’s a peek into my daily life:

After having been on Yelp a just a few weeks, I got my first referral customer on ¹²⁄₁₉. I met with the customer at a neutral location, sewed on some buttons and sent her off very pleased with my work. Who’s next? No alteration too small.
