BU Juice Bar

I wanted to like this place, I really did. Last year when I was just getting over a stomach bug I was so hungry and was just around the corner to this juice bar. I was excited to try something healthy and easy on my stomach.
When I went in, the place was obviously somewhat new, still smelled a bit like paint and only had a couple seats, but I let that go because I knew this was a new place.
There was a father with his two daughters in front of me who were ready to make an order, so I waited patiently for my turn to order which took a little longer than I wanted. The three people ahead of me and myself all had to sit together at the only seats available to us for what it seemed like forever. By the time my smoothie was being made, those other people had either finished their smoothies or had them for a while.
I ordered a beet smoothly with some kind of punny name. The two people behind the counter weren’t exactly experienced working there, it was an older couple, and the woman was making the smoothie while the man just watched over her. It took so, SO long to get my smoothie that I regretting going to this place.
Once I got my order, it was warm, and tasted literally just like warm beets with nothing else in it– I like beets but not that much. The cup was also only ²⁄₃ full too including the beet froth that floated at the top. I just walked over to the sandy hook deli and threw the expensive concoction out, got myself some water and a bagel there instead.
I haven’t been back since. Everyone seems to like this place, I don’t know why. I wanted to support my local stores but boy, this place gave me such a bad experience I will probably never, ever go back. Sorry. One star for friendly service, another star because the fruits and veggies seemed fresh.

It’s a good start but I’d like to see more variety. The drink was a bit warm and the place looks a little dreary. We’ll see where they take this? Prices are good.

My husband stopped in there today to grab me a juice on my way to work. It was fantastic! The juice tasted extremely fresh, you could taste all different items that went into the juice. Delicious! Will def be back!

It was okay. My boyfriend and I went in around 12:45. He got his smoothie around 12:55 (ten minutes to make a smoothie?) And I got mine after 1:08. He was already done before I even had mine in my hand… And the credit card machine wasn’t working well which wasn’t fun. She asked us to help but we couldn’t do anything. I had to pay for my boyfriend using cash I want supposed to use. She asked to write down all my card information which I was not okay with at all. I said I didn’t want my smoothie if I had to do that and she told me she would just call me back later. Didn’t exactly make me happy at all…
Boyfriends smoothie tasted amazing (the mango one) but was Luke warm. Mine was pretty good as well but not for $ 7…
All in all everything was okay. Not worth waiting 30 min for two smoothies. Maybe in a few months when things get more settled I’ll come back…

Do not be fooled by the name «juice bar» because it is a «smoothie bar» there is NO juicing here. It is not worth the $ 5 either… It is all frozen fruit from a box and in a blender… Can do at home for cheaper. There was an older woman when I went with my friend and by the time she finished making my smoothie my friend was already done with hers. I tried the «make my own» and got pineapple as an add-​in, but halfway through the woman said she had none. The atmosphere is a little weird… Looks like a living room with a foldable table and two sofas. She said they have been open for 3 weeks… Hopefully they are renovating soon. I will not go back, but I do wish them good luck since they are only in the beginning.

Really awesome variety of smoothies to choose from! Love the atmosphere and I was provided great & friendly customer service. I will definitely be coming here more often and it’s located in such a great spot.
