Doubletree by Hilton

Difficult to find after dark but no complaints about room. Check in was friendly and welcoming. Room was comfortable and clean, quiet, especially considering the close location to airport.

Pulled in for a quick to go lunch and by accident found the best bbq and kindest workers! We decided to stay and dine in. The pork sandwich was out of this world and all the sides were equally as delicious. My favorite was the green beans! The food was a 10 out of 10 but the cute owners and sweet floor attendant were the highlight. Southern hospitality at It’s finest! They made me wish we lived here and could become regulars. Interior and exterior were both clean and charming. Tell your friends! This place is awesome!

I am giving 3 stars because they did get in contact with me and I appreciate it. So I like the customer service of the manager.

Not Hilton’s best effort. Pretty crappy room. Actually… rooms. I had to move from the first room due to no heat (and it was in the 30s outside!). The second room — although on the ‘hhonors’ floor the room was so shabby — peeling wallpaper, disintegrating ceiling, outdated HBO schedule (from September!)
First, why wasn’t I put on the Hilton Honors floor in the first place since I’ve been a member for about 20 years AND wasn’t even offered a lousy HH goody bag :-(

This hotel is WAY outdated! My room has marks from a water leak, wood paneling on the elevators, bathroom moldy etc. I just stayed here because they did not opt out of the double points program. I now see why!

I’m not even going to spend lot of time writing a review on this hotel. Best part of the place is the staff and the lobby. I think they know they have a sub-​par hotel, so they make sure to be super friendly because everything else is going to disappoint. Our room was small, and everything just looked old. Badly in need of an update. Please, take your money somewhere else, especially if you’re entertaining!

I booked one night here using some HH points + $ 40. Shortly after I checked in and went to my room, another guest was given my same room and barges in on me. The manager Dave apologized profusely, comped my dinner, and said that I would not be charged for the hotel night. That was great — I accepted. I understand that mistakes happen and I got over the incident quickly. However the next morning when I went to check out, the clerk on duty at the desk provided my bill, which still showed a $ 35 room charge — don’t even know where that would have come from. I explained the situation and he said there were no notations in the file. He ended up removing the charge but stated that it was «against his better judgement» and basically accused me of lying (he attempted to sound like he was joking) so I was pretty offended. I wouldn’t stay here again. Too many issues.

Avoid if you can. Rude staff. Bartender was so rude. Front desk clerk yelled at me for not letting her know I was waiting for the shuttle. This was a bad experience.

On this visit, I didn’t find it as exhilarating. The room was OK, but showing wear and tear. It had a tired feel. Noise in the hallway is very loud. The neighbor entered their room around 11PM and let the door slam… the whole bedroom wall shook. The workout equipment in the small gym was dirty… like it hadn’t been cleaned in over a week. On the elliptical, there was dirt and debris in the foot wells. Only large towels were available, which was awkward.
Staff were friendly and convenient to the airport with free shuttle.

The rooms are comfortable and clean. The Wings restaurant inside the hotel has decent food for the price. All of the staff I interacted with were very nice. The shuttle from hotel to the Richmond airport runs 24 hours a day and leaves about every 15 minutes. I would stay at this hotel again. My only complaint is that they say their continental breakfast is supposed to start at 5 am but at 5:30 am there was still not any food.

Hotel needs to live up to promises. I was staying at this hotel to catch an early morning flight out of Richmond. At check it I was informed I could park my car at the hotel for and $ 15 and take a shuttle over to the airport. This would have been an excellent deal. I was also told that the shuttle runs every 15 minutes in the morning but I should show up on the early side to prevent the morning rush. I showed up I. The lobby at 435 am and waited 25 minutes. There was no sign of anyone. No one behind the desk. At 500am I had to get in my car drive to daily parking (a more expensive parking option then long term) to scrabble to get on my flight.
As a frequent business traveler nothing is more stressful then having to scrabble to get on a flight.
I make it a point to avoid business who create stress for me when I travel and this will be one of the places I now avoid. This is a same. The hotel room was comfortable and the parking option would be a great deal if the could live up to their promise.
As a road warrior, the stress of being on the road doing your job is enough I can not afford being let down by a business.

Not a good stay at all. The hotel is beat, needs to be renovated or sold to someone like a best western.
Carpet in the room was dirty, there were holes in the wall in the bathroom, tile in the shower was moldy and the outlets for plugging in electronics were nearly impossible to reach.
The heater made a noise all night which made it impossible to get a good nights rest, and the walls were paper thin.
Do yourself a favor and book the courtyard down the street.

This hotel is a Doubletree in name only. Sure, they give you a cookie when you check in, but were it not for that you could easily mistake this for a low end Holiday Inn (before they started refreshing the brand).
First, it bears mentioning that if you stay here without transportation you are prisoner to the hotel restaurant because there is nothing else less than a half mile walk. The restaurant is not bad per say, but rather is your typical airport hotel restaurant. You would not eat there if you had a choice to do otherwise.
The room, although clean is in dire need of refurbishment. There is only one power outlet easily accessible at the desk and none bedside. This ignores the reality that business travelers carry numerous devices (smartphones, laptops, tablet) and all need to be charged. Further, charging at bedside is necessary and shouldn’t require moving furniture. The metal door failed to keep out the noise of housekeeping staff chatting in the hallway.
Furnishings seemed old and unimpressive. The bathroom was vintage 1980s motor lodge. There was nothing warm, comforting, or welcoming about this property. Front desk staff was neither friendly nor unfriendly but rather seemed disinterested.
Would love to see a refresh in keeping with the brand.

A «meh» hotel that is extremely close to the airport with a shuttle bus that runs often. I have stayed in nicer hotels, I have stayed in hotels not as nice. I used up some of my Hilton points when I arrived close to midnight and spent the night, rather than picking up a rental car and driving through the night.
Staff was helpful and the breakfast in the morning was quite good, more so because it was free as a Hilton Honors Gold elite level member.
The room was a little on the sad side, but it was quiet and it was secure and that’s really all I needed for an eight hour layover.

This hotel is underrated. Reviews rated this hotel as poor, rooms were poorly lit, and beneath Doubletree standards. Our experience was very good… and we are both experienced, savvy travelers accustomed to staying at nice hotels. While the design and décor was not modern the hotel was being modernized. There were plenty of lamps, a comfortable bed, nice pillows, 2 TV’s (including a new flat screen), and the room was quiet (the shower stall was under lit), but the shower curtain was a very nice cloth, the tub was spacious, and the water was warm.
The hotel bar was very nice, and the house band (R&B and blues) was exceptional, truly exceptional! I would not hesitate to stay there again.

The front desk was very friendly and you can’t beat the convenience and close proximity to the airport. However inside the room, the showers are like a cave, dark and gloomy. The room was a bit outdated and the 2^nd room I stayed in my fridge was a bit dirty. Room service was prompt and the hotel bar staff were friendly.

Second time staying here on a layover. If I was paying for the room if I paid more than $ 75 a night I would be mad. The front desk staff really are nice & the rooms are big suites with separate sitting area & a mini fridge. But the rooms are dark & dingy and this is in no way representative of what I expect from a Doubletree. I can’t compare it to any of the other airport hotels as I haven’t stayed at any of them. Maybe this is Richmond airport standard?

Friendly staff hooked me up with a warm cookie. On site restaurant named Wings. I ordered the rib eye.

This Doubletree is very dated, but extremely functional. I got an incredible deal on my stay and I think it’s perfect for business travel.
They have done a few upgrades to the furnishings, but the room set up and some of the fixtures are definitely old school. Staff was friendly and the restaurant was better than I expected.
I will definitely look first to book here if the rates are right on my next Richmond trip.

Hotel has a very dated feel to it, even though there are outward signs of upgraded drapes, sheets and furnishings. Everything, from the plaster on the ceiling to the shower head seemed to be hastily and shoddily put together. I guess you could say the place lacked polish.
The room I was in was a mini suite, with a living room and it’s own TV. Great for hanging out on a longer stay, but I can’t imagine a reason for staying by the Richmond airport for extended period of time.
The rooms did a fine job of eliminating sound from the airport. The loudest sound came from the airconditioner — from the adjacent room.
Exercise facility is the standard Hilton Precor setup. Dumbbells up to 50lbs, with room for about 2 to work.
You can indulge your Top Gun fantasies on the beach volleyball court, or lounge on the large poolside deck.
