Excellent bottled beer selection, plus drafts. A deliberately non-fancy, no frills place to explore beer, and during baseball season you can order in some food if you like while watching the Giants on one wall mounted screen and the A’s on another.(Yes, it’s a little hard to find the first time, but make the effort.)

Went for my first time last night and it’s fantastic. It was a little hard to find at first, but the area is a very cute location. The beer selection looked pretty decent(although I’m not a huge beer drinker so I can’t say for sure) and they’re decently priced. Plus, you can bring your own food!!! The place has a really chill laid back type of feel and the music isn’t too loud so you can talk to people. Definitely will be going back

Cool Spot! Friendly bartender. Good music at a good volume. Beer choices were great. If you can’t find something you like, well you’re not a beer lover. I’d add it to my must return spots next time I’m in town. Especially now that I know I can have a pizza delivered there.

700th review. Location is a little hard to find since I’m not from the area however it was totally worth getting a little turned around. Beer is the name of the game and they’re not messing around. Much like my beloved Beer Revolution in Oakland, this place has quite a few taps with fresh, new, exciting craft beers at a reasonable price. Also like Beer Rev, they have a few coolers along a wall with bottle brews that are available to be consumed there or enjoyed at home. I stopped here many times and the selection was always different. The décor is fun and ironic, the facilities are clean, and the beer is cold. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, the staff! The employees/owner know their stuff and will geek out with you while discussing hop varieties. They love what they do and it really shows at this incredibly hip joint. I can’t wait to be back in the area so I can have another great craft brew.

I came here on my long drive down from my hometown to San Diego. Stopped by to see family in Monteray and they took us here! I love this place! The décor and service is fun and a great place to get brews. The location is kinda weird but it’s worth it for a chill spot. The selection is good too. They have a lot on tap and a ton to buy from the coolers. I can’t rate it higher or give a better insight as far as the brews go because I’m still not a beer drinker. From what I remember the flight I got of some beers on tap were pretty decent. It a a regular spot for a lot of the people on base in seaside.

Kind of an odd location but the beer selection and bottle section was superb. Michael is very knowledgeable about the industry and what he is pouring which is what you must have in this industry to succeed. They don’t serve food but you can bring your own in and there was talk about food trucks coming in.

One of my favorite spots to hang out just to have a craft beer, have pizza delivered, and relax with my husband or friends. Great selection of beers, chill atmosphere and attentive bartenders. Will be back.

Came here on a Monday night. The published closing time is midnight. However, despite there being people in there drinking, the guy closed the place just after 10pm as apparently the place wasn’t busy enough! What kind of bar closes early when there are people in there trying to spend money. Shan’t be going back! Far better places to grab a decent beer in the area.

Great spot for a good beer, and they allow you to bring in outside food. The location is a bit random, but I think that’s a part of the charm. They also sell craft beers that you can either drink at the bar or take home with you.

Amazing! The establishment will not disappoint you in beer selection. There are many places that sell craft beer on tap, but most fail in picking stellar selection, like they do at Post No Bills. We tried the following: Uncommon — Long Form Tripel Mission — Amber Alesmithe — Nut Brown Hacker Pschorr — Hefe

My favorite beer place south of San Francisco. I live in the San Jose area but try to make it down here once a month or so. Always a great beer selection and they rotate what’s on tap very frequently. Great staff, too. If you can’t find anything on tap you like they also have several coolers worth of bottles. Don’t come hungry, the only food they have a few small bags of chips and some(really awesome) beef jerky.

So we were about to go to dinner and had a bit of time to kill on Christmas Eve while staying in Monterrey CA so I looked for breweries in the area… and this GEM of place came up. Although not actually a brewery, I can guarantee that you will be blown away by the selection of quality microbrews available here. I certainly was! Some of the beers we got included(all excellent): Goose island — Bourbon County Barley Wine; Shipyard — Smashed Pumpkin(AMAZE-BALLS), Figueroa Mountain — Big Cone Stout. We also got some bottles for take home of a mint chocolate beer from Bootleggers, the Christmas seasonal from The Bruery(one of my fav Brewers) and a saison I can’t remember who made. This bar has a hipster«cheers» feel to it. Seems like most folks were local and knew each other by name. I could see how if I lived in the area, I too would quickly become a regular!

This place hits all the buttons-service, knowledge, atmosphere, and of course BEER! As a Pacific Northwest native, I fully endorse PNB as the closest thing anyone from back home is going to find in terms of good beer selections on draft or in bottles. The only thing this place lacks is a kitchen, but it’s BYOF-friendly, so no worries. Great place to meet up-I prefer coming here on bike rides for a couple of pints in lieu of lunch

Pros: Good beer selection Cons: Cheesy murals, pricey tl; dr: First week in a new place, no friends, bar tender acts rudely = unpleasant experience My Story: I’m in the area on a temporary basis for school. It was my first week in the Monterey Bay area and didn’t know anyone. I heard good things about Post No Bills and went to check it out. I go in, and there aren’t many people, but they have a lot of beers, many of them local. Check. There are also some bizarre murals that look like they’re trying to be bad L.A. murals, but just don’t cut it. Anyway, I’m here for beer not to judge artwork. I sit down and look forward to make conversation with the bar tender. I start by asking her about recommended drinks and suggests a local blend. She didn’t seem overly friendly but nothing offensive at this point. When I inquire as to the price of a particular brew, I got what can only be described as a snobby look from her, almost as if my asking such a question meant I shouldn’t be there. I decide to overlook this and order the item. I have my beer and as I’m nearing the end of my glass, seek an opportunity for eye contact to order another beer. At no point do I see the bartender making herself available to help. Then I notice the bartender going around picking up empty glasses. At this point, I have an empty glass sitting on my table. Mind you, it wasn’t a busy time and I estimate there being no more than 10 total people in there including myself. Anyway, she goes around asking everyone else if they’d like another drink as she picks up the empty glasses. That is everyone except myself. She simply walks to my table and collects the empty glass without a single word. I felt quite upset. In the grand scheme of things, it’s probably not a a big deal and the place certainly won’t give a shit about one disappointed customer. But it’s well known that when dining/drinking out, you’re paying for the experience mostly. Having been in a vulnerable state, this bad service experience was was enough for me. I find Peter B’s in Downtown Monterey has a pretty decent selection of beers and a more fun atmosphere fyi.

Green Flash, Firestone Wookey Jack, Deschutes Mirror Mirror are on tap. Solid. Great service friendly locals cuz i am one, and upbeat vibe. Christmas in July so there was a dancing Santa Claus in the back. Wheelchair accessibility: New building, ramp entrance, wide bathroom door, soon to be accessible parking.

Post No Bills was brought to my attention by a very good friend of mine that lives in Seaside. I owe her greatly! This place has a stupid amount of suds. All are pleased by the laundry-list of libations– no matter if you are an ignorant guzzler(myself) or a discerning hipster(probably you), there is sure to be a tasty treat tailored to your liking. Feel free to bring your own favorite food and deck of cards against humanity to make your night out feel like an intimate night in.
