WOOF is for the dog owner who wants that next level of care and loving for their dog when they can’t be there themselves. Our hotel is made up of individual bedrooms with raised Karunda beds for the big guys and soft, snuggly beds for the little guys. Our «European» style of boarding means that your dog is in a supervised, size-​appropriate playgroup, able to go inside and out, when they are not sleeping or eating. We are always monitoring the health and well-​being of your dog, making sure they stay stress and injury –free. We are highly recommended by many vets and trainers in the Tri-​Valley area. We are very strict about vaccination requirements and each dog must go through an initial temperament evaluation prior to becoming a WOOF dog. All staff members are screened carefully, trained thoroughly on safe dog handling techniques and dedicated to the well-​being of our canine guests!

History

Established in 2007.

I operated a small boarding business from my home for six years prior to opening WOOF. This laid the ground work for what I felt were the most important things to have in a larger facility — space, safety and fun. I spent a year to find the right location — a safe, security-​alarmed building, fully equipped with fire sprinklers, that allowed me to build large, outdoor space for fresh air, sunshine and maintaining good potty habits (all top priorities for me.) I have built up WOOF slowly so as to never let the focus drift from the reason we are here — to deliver the highest quality care for people’s dogs while they are away. We receive most of our clients from current clientele, local vets and trainers — all people who know first-​hand how dedicated we are to our mission. The well-​being and safety of the dogs in my care has always been my highest priority. I make certain that my staff is highly trained and equally dedicated.

I am the proud mother of four beautiful dogs — each who come to work with me every day. How blessed am I? Frustrated by my choices 15 or so years ago, it was my dream to create not only a safe place for dogs but also one where they could have more fun! I wanted to be able to get my dog back any day of the week, too. I also didn’t want him to smell bad when I picked him up. The greatest gift I receive is when people tell me «this is the first time I have not worried about my dog when I’m away.» I love my work and I am so grateful to be entrusted with the lives of other people’s dogs. When I am not working, I try to spend time at the Oakland Animal Shelter where I have volunteered for about 10 years. Last year WOOF sponsored the creation of the «puppy room,» now the brightest and warmest room in the place. It is my passion to make a difference in the lives of dogs.
