I am completely happy with my choice to bring my child here. All of the staff are warm and engaging with the child at all times and she truly loves being here. The director Ruth is so friendly and eager to share all facets of her program with the families that come to tour. There is so much open natural spaces for the children to explore and roam around which is hard to find in some of the newer programs around this school. We spent a great deal of time searching and researching all yhe programs around for the best possible program for my little one and this one by far exceeds my expectations! Thank you all for what you provide to the children and families in your program, you are true example of excellence!

My daughter has been going here for years. She loves it. Every time vacation comes around, she’s asking to go back by the last few days. Her teachers have been wonderful, with varied styles of interaction, which I feel is important for kids to learn how to deal with the wider world. The director (Ruth) is fabulous. Ms Kiki in the 18 months class was such a hit, that my daughter still talks about her years later. It’s not a fancy place with every child being clean all the time. It’s a place where the kids get dirty playing in the sand, with paints, climbing the play structures, and learning how to grow up. They have wonderful art projects every day, subject matter learning with each month being a different focus, and free play sessions daily where they learn to interact with other kids. They go outside to play every day, at least once a day and sometimes 2 or 3 times depending on the season and weather. They see chickens, cows, deer, and wild turkeys practically every day. They go on nature walks when the weather is good. I’ve never felt a moment’s concern while my daughter is there. I dread the day we have to leave and go into the public school system.

The Child Day School in San Ramon has become a second home for my 4 year old daughter. We moved from out of state and could not find a school that made me feel comfortable leaving her all day, but after receiving many word of mouth recommendations for TCDS we decided to visit and knew immediately this was our new school. The teachers are AMAZING and truly love her. She can’t wait to go to school and learn every day which is a huge relief for us as working parents. I feel so lucky to have discovered TCDS as it is a bit tucked away. The nature atmosphere and comfortable, loving environment put the children at ease and it is obvious they all really enjoy being there each day. To top it off, my daughter is soaking up all the educational aspects as well. I highly recommend this school.

I have had two children attend this school from the 2’s through pre-​school and I cried the day my last child left TCDS for kindergarten. My kids loved it too. They were so prepared for the transition to kindergarten and have the skills and confidence to thrive but they definitely miss the feeling and security of TCDS. I never had a problem with a teacher and the director (Ruth) was always available to talk to me about what ever I wanted to talk about. Furthermore, my youngest had some food allergies and he really wanted to eat hot lunch like all of his friends — they were totally accommodating! I can’t say enough about the overall experience that my children had at this school and how comfortable and secure they felt there and feel in a classroom now. I love TCDS and would and do recommend it to anyone.

I’m actually a little hesitant to write this review because I don’t want everyone to find out about the best preschool in San Ramon and have enrollment go up, but here goes…
I have two children currently attending TCDS. My first has been attending since he was 15 months old and is now in the Pre-​K class. My second has been attending since she was about the same age and is now in the «older twos» room.
First of all, every single teacher that my kids have had here, in every class, has been an important part of my kids life thus far. They have all been caring, kind, loving, and attentive. When my kids get dropped off in the morning, all the teachers seem genuinely happy to see them and greet them with hugs and hellos. Unlike another reviewer, I have never experienced seeing a teacher on their cell phone or ignoring the kids. The teachers here are GREAT and seem to all really love their jobs. My kids love them too (and isn’t that what matters?)
Another thing I really like about the school is the social skills they teach the kids. I credit this school for teaching my kids things like, please, thank you, excuse me, as well as shaking hands with people and greeting them. They also helped potty train both my kids and gave me updates daily on how they were doing with that. From the 1’s room all the way up to the preschool class, parents are given a daily report sheet to see how the day went in terms of nap, lunch, snack, and what the kids did that day. It is a good form of communication, although, teachers are also available to chat upon pick-​up.
The school also offers up resources if you (or they,) have any concerns about your child’s development. We had some issues with our son and the director was great in helping us figure out how we could help him best.
Finally, l noticed another reviewer said something about germs and kids getting sick. Um… duh? Where could you possibly go, except a bubble, where this wouldn’t happen? The school does as best they can to keep the toys, eating areas, and play equipment clean, and they have a great illness policy, but, yes, kids get nasty little bugs every once in awhile. They are kids, it’s what happens. On the bright side, this builds their immunity and once they hit kindergarten they will be perfectly healthy. I do have to say though, that my kids RARELY get sick.
All in all, great school, great teachers, oh… and great location!!! Check it out!

My child has been going to this school for two & a half years. I am so happy with the beautiful land the school is at. The play grounds are huge and surrounded with nature, where children are suppose to play.
The teachers there are warm, care, & big kids themselves. The teachers are so loving during drop offs and informative when I pick up. I hear lots of funny story of what my child did that day. Each class room has their own theme and it’s fun how much pride the children have for their class.
The summer program is AMAZING. For the younger children they bring actives & performer to the school. My child is now in the school age program and is SOOO excited for all the field trip & actives plan.
All in all, I am able to go to work in ease every day knowing my child is happy, safe and loved.

Looking for a place to take your child/​ren that truly has great care? This is the place for you then. They have low children to teacher ratio. The teachers and director engages you on how your child performs on a daily basis. I have taken my children to other more popular day care centers and just when I gave up thinking that all day care/​pre-​school facilities are the same, I found this wonderful place where my kids are loved, cared for and taught by teachers who care about their well being, intellectual and social growth.
