We specialize in a few areas. Our # 1 area is Customer Service. We know you have quite a few choices out there and we pride ourselves on being the absolute best in our industry. We have a comfortable waiting room with chairs, counter, free WI FI, & lots of magazines. (You do not have to stand around at a gas station in fear of being hit by a car or wonder where your children went wile you wait) Its also Air Conditioned!

We also know you are concerned about your car. We will take great care of you and your vehicle, and send you out with a smile. You will know you came to the right place.

We specialize in Smog Check only, we are quick, fairly priced, and honest. We can smog any vehicle you bring in to us (including exotics) that needs a smog check.

History

Established in 2004.

We started this business in 2004. Smog King was the first Smog Test Only Station in the Tri Valley Area. However we began in this industry way before that. We have over 27 years of vehicle testing experience behind us. I worked with a major smog test machine manufacturer since 1982. I started out setting up smog test locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area for the manufacturer. And now here we are, with all this experience to serve our Tri Valley customers.

Brian has been doing business in the Tri Valley area for over 20 years now as an independent businessman. Starting in the automotive aftermarket as a top performer selling automotive diagnostic equipment. He has been in thousands of auto repair shops across the country doing business with the owners of these shops, helping them to improve their day-​to-​day operations. Currently he is owner of Smog King in Pleasanton & San Ramon. In addition to this he also still trains automotive technicians on diagnostic procedures using the latest in automotive equipment.

Took my car into Smog King based on reviews and all went well. Made an appointment for the mid week, so things went pretty quick. I previously went to a shop in Pleasanton which is cheaper and because of it, there’s a line a mile long regardless of the day you go. My time is more precious during the mid week, so I came here. Mike explained to me that I was reading a little high on one of the tests and this allows me the opportunity to apply some fixes to the problem.

Just got my smog checked. The station was clean and the tech was super friendly. He was happy to answer all my questions. Total time was less than 15 minutes so great place to go if you are short on time. I will definitely make this my go to Smog Check place! I also got the $ 20 discount for mentioning Unilocal

Great experience! In and out in about 15 minutes. Even gave me $ 20 discount because I found them on Unilocal. I don’t think they do repairs – which is a good thing. A smog place that doesn’t do repairs is less likely to fail your car for unethical reasons so they can charge you for the repairs. If you don’t want to wait, call in advance and make an appointment.

Came by around lunch time to take my boyfriend who works next door to lunch. He wasn’t quite ready and I’d just gotten the paperwork from the dmv saying I needed to get my car smogged so I figured I might as well try this place out. The guy was very friendly. He promised to have my car done in 10 – 15 minutes. About 5 minutes later it was already done. I’ll definitely come back next time I need my car smogged

Called in the morning to get an appointment and had no problem. Got to the location at 10:15 am. The business was very clean and the person (I think his name was Tony) running the shop was very friendly. He took my information and quoted me his price which include the $ 20 discount which is listed on website. Tony took my key and got my car and began testing. Within 5 minutes he returned and told me he was having problems with connecting to the internet which he needed to run the test. Tony asked if I could come back later when he was able to connect to the State’s website. I told him to give me a call once the system was up. An hour later, he called and told me the system was available. I went back and Tony took me right away. It only took him 10 minutes and he was done. Tony told me my car passed the smog test and I gave him my credit card to pay for the service. He informed me that he would discount my bill another $ 20 because of the inconvenience. What a nice surprise! I was very happy with the service and Tony who was friendly and professional. I will be back again for my next smog test. FYI, this business is STAR certified.

I brought my wife’s car for a Smog test on a Saturday morning. Although I was a walk-​in I was the only customer. I didn’t get much of a chance to browse the magazines in the lobby because the smog test took all of 15 minutes! For me, this is probably the fastest smog test I’ve ever had!
Price wise, it seems a bit pricier than other places, but the Unilocal check-​in gives a good discount and for sheer speed, it’s hard to beat! The funny thing is that SRVB seems to have tons of smog check, auto repair, and gas stations so I do believe competition is stiff. I’m glad Unilocal lead me to Smog King!

Found these guys on Unilocal and they were worth the 5 stars and more. Was able to get scheduled a day in advance for a mid-​morning appointment and the test only took 15 minutes. Had a great chat about how to best keep my 20 year old car on the road for years to come. Great experience!

Extremely friendly service as well as very quick! I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. I made an appointment, so that probably helped, however other Unilocalers have said they didn’t have an appointment and still didn’t have to wait long. He told me about his $ 20 online coupon when I called, which I printed out and brought with me, so all said and done it was $ 78 including the certificate.
Would come back here without hesitation — great customer service!

A very friendly man named Scott helped me at the desk and smogged my car. Smog costs about $ 90 which is the going rate for walnut creek and danville. It took all of 15 minutes while I sat quietly in the waiting room with my dog. I got the $ 20 off for checking in too! (Think it’s for first-​timers but I didn’t ask). Without a doubt the best smog experience. Usually it is a notably stressful thing for me.

Getting a smog check isn’t my favorite way to spend time. I stopped by without an appointment and they provided an accurate estimate of how much time it would take. They do schedule appointments which is probably the best way to save time. The technician sent over the smog certificate immediately to the DMV. I was able to pay my car registration on my phone within 30 minutes of completing the smog check. I highly recommend the Smog King.

Who doesn’t dread getting their car smog checked? I would consider buying a new car just to avoid have to get my old car smog’d. (I wish.) I was a dread-​er, but not any more. Martin True at Smog King in San Ramon made the whole process quick and painless. He accepted a competitor’s coupon and credit card payment, which made it the best deal in town. I was in and out within 15 – 20 minutes. Martin was very nice and pleasant.
Having been to other smog check places in the past, I feel very comfortable recommending Smog King in San Ramon.

I had several smog test fliers/​coupons in my hand, and while Unilocaling to find «the best one» with two requirements (best price and best service), I was horrified to find several of them got poor reviews. Thankfully, Smog King was one of the fliers.
I saw that although Smog King is not the cheapest, they got rated well for service and speed. I called at 9am on a Tuesday and was told there was no wait at the time. I showed up shortly after, and within 15 minutes, Martin (I think that was his name) was done. Painless.
A fair warning — they do charge a bit more, and like all other places SUV’s also get charged an extra fee, BUT the service is fast and honest. Unilocal has a check-​in offer for them, but the flier that comes in the mail gives a deeper discount.

Silicon Valley
Tried to beat the crowd so I arrived 15 minutes before the opened. Martin was already there setting up shop at 7:45AM. We started the paperwork a few minutes later. He said it would be about 15 minutes. 10 minutes later he was done! That was the quickest smog check ever! Martin was friendly and polite.
The facility is located next to Diablo Auto Care.

Best place to get smog check even if you don’t have to have a test only (star) station. Friendly guys, free wifi very fast easy appointments or just walk on in. Been using smog king for all my cars since 2006!
If your car does have a problem you can get it fixed next door at the neighboring repair shop then re-​test. A huge time saver!
