I had bad experience with this co. my solar never work for two years. They schedule 3 times appointment to see the problem and no once showed up it was disappointing. my electric never reduce.

The team at SkyPower Solar was excellent to work with in all phases of our project. I am a technical, comparison shopper and in the pre-​sales process, I got great support and straight-​forward answers to my technical questions. Mark was especially helpful when he did the survey of our property before a contract was signed. During the installation phase, the crew was professional in every aspect of the job. They worked hard, cleaned up at the end of each day and were happy to answer any questions that I had regarding the installation. As with most jobs, the first 90% is easy and its getting the last 10% done that separates the good guys from the others. In our case, there were a few «un-​finished» items, but Dan and Gary listened and communicated with me to get them resolved in a timely manner, even though the last payment had already been made! I am very happy with the system we installed and exceptionally glad that we chose to work with such a professional team. Well done guys!

These guys went above and beyond to get rid of old and install new solar pool heating panels. Gary handled things start to finish and their install guy went above and beyond to even patch a cracked skylight. Great people, great price. Would definitely use them again and so should you.

If one does not have integrity in small matters, I would not trust them with a larger matter.

I just got my Sunpower PV system up and running through Sky Power and the whole experience has been excellent. I spoke with 3 other vendors, including Solar City and Sungevity before deciding to go with Sky Power. With Solar City and Sungevity I knew more than the sales people I was talking with and the information I got when I asked questions was patchy at best and totally inaccurate at worst. Now I am an engineer, with associated OCD, so I had done a lot of research myself before contacting any of these companies, but none the less I want to be able to have an intelligent conversation with someone before I spend thousands of dollars on something I am going to have on my roof for 20 years. I chose Sky Power for the following reasons:
1. They are a Sunpower dealer and due to the new fire setback regulations in California I needed high efficiency panels in order to get the total system size I wanted.
2. They were the local Vendor that Sunpower forwarded my initial inquiry about solar to.
3. The sales guy Mark came round to my house to discuss my project and went up on the roof to give me an idea of shading and how many panels I had room for. Way more personal, and accurate, than an email with estimates of shading and roof area from a satellite photo. Mark was very responsive when I asked about the pricing for different configurations before I finally decided upon one. Totally different from my Solar City and Sungevity experience where I felt they were trying to rush me to close the deal, couldn’t answer my reasonable questions, and would say whatever they thought I wanted to hear to this end.
4. The final price for the system was very competitive on a $ per KW basis with the added advantage of the best panels on the market.
After deciding on Sky Power the whole project ran very smoothly. I e-​signed the documents and got a installation date scheduled for about 6 weeks out (they were busy with a year end rush). Sky Power handled all the permitting etc and the installation guys were great, quick, competent, clean, polite just what you want with someone bolting stuff to your roof and getting into your attic to run wires etc.
The system was installed on the Friday and Monday and the inspector came in on Tuesday and signed off on the system. Sky Power then handled the PG&E net metering application, which again I e-​signed via an email, and we were all done.
The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because I had a couple of hiccups scheduling the designer to come round to get on my roof with the sun-​eye to get the data needed for the final design. I also had to remind the office a couple of times to send me the design to review. I’ll put this down to their year end rush.
I would definitely recommend Sky Power if you are considering a PV system and am very happy with the experience I had.

I agree with most other reviews. Sky Power was a referral from a very competent local realtor. Gary came promptly and quoted a very competitive price. Gary is a knowledgeable provider of information and we choose Sky Power. Excellent decision. They installed very quickly. We had a very small leak a week later. It was fixed the same day at no charge and had been problem free for almost a year. I would choose Sky Power again and refer friends and family to Sky Power. Recently Gary also referred us to a a contracted for re plastering.

Sky Power just installed solar panels on my roof. I obtained 3 bids and all where very similar priced. It came down to the service when choosing Sky Power. Others were not always as responsive. Tom was excellent at following up and lighting fast at getting me a bid and answering my questions. We ended up going with the higher end Sun Power panels.
They were so busy it took a little while to come do install but was pleased with the professionalism of the install staff as well.

I had SkyPower solar come out in Spring of 2013 to give me estimates for both PV Solar and Pool heating. Gary estimated that the trees would cast too much shadow on the PV panels to capture enough sunlight (no leaves on the trees then) so I had him install the pool heating panels and a new variable speed pump. Great work done at a fair price with none of the «I’m going to give you an $x discount if you install by this date» b.s. of other vendors.
Once the leaves showed up on the trees, I noticed the trees weren’t as bushy as Gary had estimated and that shadows wouldn’t be a big issue. He came out again, took some readings and determined that PV solar would be worth it for me. I’ve had it a year now, and my annual electric payment to PG&E is under $ 400. I couldn’t be happier with SkyPower. Great people, great workmanship and competitive price. I highly recommend them.

Sky Power Solar is very dependable and professional. From my first call, I felt they were very knowable. We had water solar installed along with our pool upgrade and the other company was a joke. Gary came in and upgraded to what WE thought we had contracted originally. Live and learn, right. I have happily shared, with other pool owners, Sky Power Solar. I recently had a solar pool heater installed by SkyPower. I couldn’t be happier with the system, the service and the price. Gary was a true professional that listened to my concerns and addressed them. He didn’t try to oversell me. I got other estimates from companies that spent more time on the pitch and razzle dazzle than the actual transaction. It took no less than two months to get an actual estimate from them. After I realized they were trying to overbuild my system, I called Gary. After taking measurements and doing some calculations I got my quote… And itwas SUBSTANTIALLY lower than the competition. The installation was quick and Gary explained the system thoroughly. I did have a question the next day about the control panel and Gary sent me a step by step email explaining what I should do. It worked like a charm.
I found my experience with SkyPower and Gary, specifically, to be honest and professional. Highly recommended!

I have had nothing but a positive experience working with Gary Corda at Sky Power on our solar pool heating system. He installed the system several years ago for us after a competiitve bidding process where I considered not only price but technology and quality of the system installed. Since then, he has been back twice to fix minor things, usually at the beginning of the season, was prompt in scheduling the visit, fixed the problem the first time and followed up to communcate what was done. I have recommended Gary to a friend for solar installation based on my experience, and my friend had a positive experience as well.

It was a true pleasure to work with Gary. He provided a great professional service and within couple of days we had a pool with a nice pleasant water.
Now, after installing solar panels, we use our pool every day during summer time and it extended our annual usage for at least 3 months.
Highly recommend Gary and his company.

It was a real pleasure working with SkyPower… they answered all of my questions in detail (and there were many!).
I talked to two other solar companies but decided to go with them because of their diamond rating and their obvious knowledge.
They were as good as I expected. In fact, after they had provided the quote, it turns out that the LG Panels we were going to use would take 6 weeks to procure. SkyPower shifted to a slightly lower power panel (which of course required two more panels). but they stuck to their quote — absorbing the difference in price.

I had both PV (electric) and a water solar pool system installed at the end of 2013. My rating is an average of these two parts of the business.
On the PV side I would give them four starts (Bob runs this side of the business). The 5.2 Kw system is doing well. The crew was professional and the work was good. Everybody I talked to was helpful.
On the pool side — I would give them one star or less (Gary runs this side of the business).
Such a contrast to the PV experience — the solar pool work felt like I had responsibility for quality control and completeness. I had to call numerous times to get things installed like electrical grounding, piping straps, remote control, operating instructions, etc. Gary rarely followed up. I eventually hired another guy to fix some of the work.

We decided to go solar and like everyone I called around and explored a couple different options. I ultimately went with Sky Power, not only because of the price and scheduling, but because I believed in the integrity of the info I was getting from Mark, my initial contact. It was the opposite of a hard sell and he answered all my questions (very often mult times!) and gave me a number of different options. From then on, the process was incredibly smooth and our system went live this month. I’m finding it odd how much I am looking forward to the next PG&E bill.
Going solar is a big decision, from deciding to make the investment, to feeling like you are even remotely educated on it, to finding the right provider. I couldn’t recommend this shop any stronger. From my communications with Mark, to addressing some minor tweaks in the contract with Bob, to every member of the installation crew, it was a real pleasure. Plus, I’m in San Ramon, so being able to support a local business was just an added bonus.

I was referred to Sky Solar about 30 days after I started the process of looking at vendors. I interviewed three companies and looked at a couple ways to get solar. at the end of my process I determined that Bob always gave me the most accurate answers, which was part of my decision criteria as I would need assistance in choosing the right panels, not just the panels that were on the best sale.
The competitors warned I was probably getting cheaper components, rails, microinverters… it was just the opposite, I received the highest quality components offered.
These guys made EVERYTHING painless. I told them they would have to be competitive with current quotes, they were. They needed to provide a quick turnaround, they did. All of their work, scheduling and communications were flawless. Their installation team was very nice, professional and cleaned up their work space. very customer service oriented.
Once you buy solar you can’t help but compare what you bought with everybody else… Its kind of a big deal to see what you are producing vs how much you paid. I will say there are a lot of folks with solar envy in my world LOL

I had Sky Power install solar on my house in Pleasanton and I could not be happier with their performance and the results.
I received multiple quotes on this from large national companies like Solar City and Sungevity, as well as other local contractors.
I found that Sky Power was very easy to deal with and gave me many options ranging from premium systems with panels from Sunpower or Bosch, or with less efficient, less expensive Chinese panels.
I ended up choosing a Chinese panel since I had a lot of southern facing roof, so W/​ft² was not that important to me. I found that Sky Power had the best price, was able to help me set up financing at a good rate with local CU, and were able to do the installation a week or two after I signed the contract, which was months faster than some of the other quotes.
The installation went smoothly. There were some delays due to damaged panels being delivered by the distributor, but Sky Power stayed on top of the situation, kept me informed on the status and revised schedule, and completed the installation in a timely and professional manner.
I believe my system is about 24 kW, which is a large system consisting of 60 panels. I was able to completely offset my summer electric bill from $ 1100 in July to $ 0 electric in August. My financing payments are $ 260/​month.
I am glad I went solar and am glad I chose Sky Power and would recommend them to others with no reservations.

I recently had a solar system installed for my home by Sky Power Solar. I could not be happier with the level customer service and the end result. Bob Winn and team did a great job from the planning and permitting to the installation to the job completion. They also installed a variable speed pool pump as part of the project. Bob made the process easy and his team was very responsive. Overall a very good experience.
I received my bill for April which was a $ 97 credit!

Yes I will agree with Bob that was this was on the solar pool side. My issues were on marketing practices and follow-​through, so I am curious why it should matter. I will say I did not deal with you Bob, but your partner Gary Corda. Maybe he was genuinely busy each time I called (strange how that never happened pre-​sale), and maybe indeed we could not have used our previous 2 stage pump.
I cannot comment on whether I was the victim of misrepresentation, very hard to believe someone would accept credit cards under your company name. Anyway, I think I have a right to not disclose my name/​address when publishing a critical review.

After a very thorough and extensive competitive bake-​off, I selected Skypower to install photovoltaic panels on my residential roof. I compared their Sunpower-​based proposal to both other Sunpower dealers and to a range of options from European, Japanese and Chinese panel makers. The Sunpower panels were the highest rated, but came at a significant price premium.
Since I intended to purchase the system outright to reap the maximum financial gain, I wasn’t interested the gimmicky ‘nothing down’ or ‘power purchase agreement’ financing some of the other guys were touting. To my pleasant surprise, Sunpower offered a ‘prepaid’ lease that actually made good sense — one payment up front, and a very small transfer fee after 6 years. They take advantage of the tax credit and system depreciation to keep the cost down, and it made the Sunpower system very competitively priced vs everyone else — including the cheap Chinese panels.
Their designer was thorough and professional, and created the best layout I’d seen from all the competing proposals. The final design has 32 panels in 5 arrays connected to 2 inverters, which are mounted unobtrusively in the back of the utility area beside the house. They had to work alongside the roofer I had hired (separately) and get the system in by year-​end. The roofer was running behind schedule, but Skypower’s team worked with them to make sure that the roof segments they needed were done. They finished ahead of schedule and did a nice, clean, professional job. All the parts of the system look great, from the panels and mounts on through to the inverters and conduits.
In it’s first month of operation, my electric bill dropped from over $ 400 to $ 27. Even in January, it generated more than enough power to offset all of my Tier 2/​¾/​5 usage. I switched over to the E6 time-​of-​day usage plan, anticipating that I’ll be generating surplus electricity at peak hours throughout the summer. I’ll post an update when we get to the summer season.
UPDATE June 14: The solar system continues to operate flawlessly. I’m generating around 55 kwh per day. My latest projection is that I’ll save over $ 4,000 per year off my electric bill. After tax incentives, my breakeven on the system works out to 3.3 years.
UPDATE: January 2: The savings were greater than I expected. My year-​end PG&E reconciliation was a $ 550 CREDIT — down from nearly $ 6,000 debit the prior year. With the latest rate increase announced today, my breakeven point for installing the system with a prepaid lease is now 3.2 years.
