Pine Valley Middle School

I go there now the people there our stuck up but it has changed quite a bit there is a small amount of snotty people but there’s 3 – 5 teachers that r horrible

At first I loved the school now I kinda just hate it oh yah I forgot about ms. ciriaco she’s super sweet one of my favorite teachers

Mr Law does a great job of running the school. Excellent teachers and safe, fun environment.

For a school with such an «excellent» reputation, it was not at all what you would expect. The teachers are the definition of hit or miss, a lot of being miss by a landslide. They treat you more like a number than a student and have rather unrealistic expectation for 10 – 14 year olds, kids are still young and coming right out of elementary school!

Lots of dog turds on the sidewalks at PV. Weird, my dogs go crap on the grass and I always pick it up. PV even has signs to pick up after your dog — must be a real problem. I guess residents in this part of San Ramon have difficulty cleaning up after their pets? Lost a star from my last review — don’t like telling my kid to watch his step every three feet. 2 dog poops… I mean stars.

If you haven’t been to the school for a while — let’s just say things have really changed! As of 2008 there is a brand new campus — it really gave the students a fresh start and a feeling of being in a place that wsa special. But the biggest change and a welcome one, is the new principle — Mr Law. He also came to the school in 2008 — he is young, in touch with the kids and the parents and has given a new life to the place. The kids feel his energy and so do the teachers. In one year the vibe on campus changed completely. Not only is the campus beautiful but the staff know they have the support of an adminstrator they can count on — and so do the kids.

I am a fan of education but I have to admit, the school is falling apart. I graduated there in ’99 and they were just finishing the new gymnasium. There were a lot of portables and I remember walking across PE classes outside to get to Spanish. Also, in 7^th grade someone stole my wallet in the girl’s locker room. I guess someone really needed my school ID card and lunch money that day.
I do have some good memories of my teachers, Mrs. Blasquez, the drama teacher who also put on great productions with her limited budget and time she received, Ms. Galt one of the PE. teachers who was always nice and encouraged the girls to «make those boys work harder for you!» and Mr. Brown the forever smoking English teacher who would give you extra credit for reading Agatha Christie novels.
I don’t know if any of the teachers or faculty are there still but stuff that I am responsible for now compared to then, life was easy at Pine Valley.
—-One more thing, the principal then, Gayle Hurd, was a little OCD to me. When walking to class she would stand in the corridor making sure that EVERY student was walking in the SAME direction. Which meant if you had class in the A corridor and you were walking from the B corridor you could not simply walk from B to A, but around the entire building through C and D corridors and then starting over at A. I never understood her reasoning in that…

Yeah… I don’t know if you want to go to Pine Valley ever, especially right now because they are doing major renovations. However the main reason why you should not go to Pine Valley (don’t even stop when you see it just move away as fast as possible) is that because there are extensive upgrades to the school on the way and the kids are in portables they think that they have a ghetto school. Therefore rich people who insist that they are poor and act like… well rich people who think they are poor,= totally lame. (best example: graffiti is relegated to «penis» in black spraypaint on the side of a brown portable wall, hardcore gangsta? i’ll let you decide)

Worst years of my life. What else can I say?
There is a reason why it looks like a jail.
