Massage Envy – San Ramon

Usually I have a good experience which is why I gave a 3 (the message therapists do a good job). However, today I was in the middle of making an appointment and the person (wish I could remember her name!) couldn’t find me in the system even though I have a membership and then she hung up on me. It was a couple of minutes before closing when I called so when I tried to call back no one answered and there was no machine to leave a message. Y’all need an online appointment making process or better customer service training if your employees are going to hang up on customers.

Horrible front desk staff! I gifted 4 services to 2 different family members and was mortified by the service they received. Both myself and the family members were greeted with attitudes. Sad part is the actual therapists were pleasant and provided good service. Overall Massage Envy just finds different ways to screw you over with their annual memberships and cancellations policies. Their staff is not educated in their policies so make sure you get their name so when they deny it in the future you will have a reference point. Sooooooo disappointed! Stay away if possible!

I’ve been a member here for almost 2 years and go to this location as well as the Dublin location. Overall I find great massage therapists here-​have only been disappointed one time. Once you find a therapist that fits your massage preference I highly recommend getting 90 minute massages. I feel good after a 60 min massage, but I feel great after a 90 min massage.
Side note: sometimes they call to remind you of your appt and sometimes they don’t, so make sure to stay on top of your schedule.

Had a great experience yesterday. Used a gift card for a massage with Josh which I booked about 5 days ahead. The reception area was very welcoming and staff was attentive. Josh did a great job and I was in a blissful state at the end. He did a nice job listening and adjusting to my preferences.

I just recently relocated to San Ramon from North Carolina. I loved my therapist there and was worried that I would not be satisfied with a new therapist here. When I walked in the girls upfront were super friendly. Patty was my therapist and I have to admit it was one of the best massages I have ever had. Not to mention she is super nice and we had a great conversation! This location is nice amd clean and appears to be organized. I was very satisfied and will be back to see Patty again!

Yesterday I called at about 1 PM looking fir an appointment that evening and there was an opening! I just went in for some much needed relaxation and I totally got it! Patty was absolutely wonderful!!! I’m not much of a talker, and we had some nice conversation at first and it died down without being awkward. She’s very professional and friendly (as were the front desk staff) although if you have ticklish feet like I do that will definitely get you haha

Excellent place to get message done! I know it’s hard to get in with Josh, but he is one of the best therapist by far!

If I could give this manager and their front office staff a ZERO I would. I’ve tried on three occasions to put my membership on hold. Each time I was told the manager would return my call. That’s not happened. Made a fourth call this morning and left a voice mail message requesting the same. I like Spa Envy but have had nothing but poor experiences at the San Ramon location. Do yourself a favor — try another — like the Pleasanton location — excellent customer service!

I don’t get massages very often, but I decided to try this location couple of months ago. The receptionist was very friendly and I booked an appointment pretty easy. The massage was ok, not outstanding, but ok. I liked that they didn’t pressure me into purchasing more or scheduling more appointments (like other places do). I’ll go there again and I would recommend it to others that need a little relaxation.

This place has provided, by far, the worst customer service I have ever experienced. It is impossible to get an appointment less than 3 weeks out, yet they will continue to charge your credit card monthly for services they have not delivered. I was 14 months behind because I could not get scheduled, and I asked to cancel my account. The manager informed me if I cancelled my account I would forfeit the massages that I already had paid for! Which is completely illegal in California… to be charged for services not delivered. So I then asked if I could have the massages transferred to credits… The manager, Chenille, who apparently has rocks for brains, told me there was no way she could do that because there wasn’t a button in the system for that.
I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and other authorities to report this illegal activity.

Friendly staff, nice environment. Clean spa, feels like a home environment. Plenty of great therapists to choose from. Great location!

Its okay, the idea is great, however it is hit or miss on the quality of the massage. Sometimes it was a great massage and other times I was pretty sure it was their first time. One girl actually sat on the bed talking to me on how she scams the system so she can get section 8 in San Francisco. Seriously?!? I know I am not to expect a high class experience… but come on!

Initially when I walked in and met with the receptionist I was thrilled. She came around and asked me why I was in and what I needed addressed in my massage. We spoke for maybe 5 minutes. I filled out the sheet and waiting. I spoke with the therapist as well who had already spoke with the receptionist, so she was well aware of what I needed worked on.
Lets just say that this was not a massage, it was a rub down. Barely any pressure when I asked for medium, some times she was hard, but it was mostly just light rubbing. She didn’t go past my knees on both sides of my legs. I am a runner and I have been lifting weights, my quads and hamstrings need so much attention and she completely ignored those parts as well as the glutes, I specifically asked for glutes.
I know it was a $ 50 massage, but still… I guess the saying is true «you get what you pay for».
Will not be back… guess I’ll have to fork out $ 85 for a decent massage around here.

My wife had a bunch of unused credits as a long-​time Massage Envy member, so she graciously transferred a credit to me for a 1-​hr session. I had some minor soreness in the right shoulder (from boxing and mousing) and in the quads (playing occasional soccer and running after years). I never tried Massage Envy so I said why not? I’ve had an excellent Yoga Massage in Bangkok many years ago where the masseuse (a tiny but very strong lady) managed to bend me like a pretzel and invert me a few times — it felt really good and was almost like a chiropractor session!

This location in Crow Canyon Commons is convenient with lots of parking. They first have you fill out a form to customize your massage (light, medium, deep), and which parts of your body to target (or not target) during you massage. You can get 1-​hr, 1.5-hr, and 2-​hr massages and add extras like aromatherapy for added cost too. In case you come back, they have this record to refer to.
My massage therapist was Morgan, and she had good technique and very strong hands. The room was quiet, dark and relaxing while the massage bed had a nice electric warmer. I felt pretty good during and after the massage — I was so relaxed that an hour just flew by so quickly. They have a little waiting room with water and magazines for you to rest a bit before checking out.
I would definitely consider coming back — I like how they allow you to transfer excess credits to non-​members.

Im Pretty angry with this location right now… I called last week to set up a couples massage for valentines day, the women i spoke to informed me that fri was booked for couples and nothing was availible. okay understandable its valentines day. I ask about saturday. Nothing… So then i ask for thursday, they had an opening the day before valentines… Okay im okay with that. On Wednesday night (less that 24 hours notice) They call and tell us one of our massage therapists will not be coming in and they need to re-​schedule. The women on the phone says they have a Fri. (valentines day my original request) availible if we wanted it. Im thinking okay you told you were completly booked before but maybe someone canceled thats fine… We book the appointment.
Now our appointment is in less than 5 hours (today) and i get a phone call that they accidently over booked us and need to canel our appointment!
Thank you massage envy for ruinging my first valentines day with my husband!
Needless to say im extreamly pissed off.
on there website it states; «You may cancel your appointment without charge anytime before the close of business on the business day preceding your appointment. Same day cancellations will be charged 50% of the scheduled service price.»
Same Day cacellations will be charged 50%, why dont you hold your self to those same standarts cancelling my appointment twice, one of which is on the SAME DAY with only 5 hours notice… REDICULOUS.
I was going to sign up for there membership but now i will take my buisness else where. If your front desk staff are not compatent enough to make an appointment i dont want any part of this buisness…
You lost a customer which is unfortunate because the 1 other time i have been here the massage therapist were great but again front desk staff un attentive and not very welcoming.

I came last night last minute because my sister had gifted me an hour massage with Massage Envy. I called around 4:00pm to see if they had any openings and thanking my lucky stars, Kim had an cancellation turned opening at 8:00pm. I had never seen Kim before, so I kept an open mind.
I arrived with enough time to fill out the necessary paperwork… the front desk girls were great. Not overly pressuring into making me purchase the membership. They asked all the necessary questions in terms of the pressure, troubled areas on my body, etc.
Sometimes I prefer to be quiet and sleep during my massages however this time, since it was so late, I was afraid if I fell asleep, I wouldn’t be able to really enjoy it and I would have trouble falling asleep once I got home. Kim totally kept me awake with pleasant conversation. A lot of people mind that, but in my case I didn’t. Kim was super sweet and great in keeping in mind the areas we discussed were sore and needed extra attention. Feeling a little sore today, but I was happy enough with my massage to purchase the membership that I think will totally benefit my body going forward.
Looking forward to my next visit!

I’ll keep this short and sweet.
Cons:
1. Therapist ignored my notes as well as the greeter’s notes about what I wanted, and also ignored them during the massage
2. Bed was cold, air was on, and was never asked about my comfort level (that’s a courtesy, not a requirement)
3. Lotion/​oil was cold
4. Therapists hands were freezing
5. Therapist spent odd amounts of time on locations ie. 20 mins on one side of my back, 10 mins on the other, and a couple mins on my limbs, skipped the face completely
6. Therapist, I’m pretty sure, dozed off three times until I asked if she was okay
7. Deep Swedish full body massage was more like your friend rubbing you down lightly
8. Pressure started firm, but quickly faded as she got tired
Pros:
1. Hostesses were very friendly and welcoming
2. Atmosphere was nice as well as the facility
For a birthday present, I was really really disappointed in this place.

Definitely see Zak– he’s amazing.
The heated beds put you to sleep almost immediately and I have always felt great afterwards.
The only thing I don’t like about this place is the waiting room. There’s not enough chairs for the volume of clients they have a certain times and I feel like I’m forced to be quiet in there which always drives me nuts.
Front desk girls are nice.

I gave this place a shot on two different visits. The staff at the counter was friendly and the massages were decent.
After your massage they try and sweet talk you into becoming a member. Total Scam and DONT Do It. Once you try and cancel they say well if you read the FINE Print it say this and that and make it impossible to cancel. Their contracts have ridiculous rules.
On one instance I called to see if they had anything available in the evening the same day. They were able to find something 5 hrs later. Once our conversation ended I realize that I had a prior commitment and call them right back Within 1 Minute. They told me that because I was canceling the same day I had to pay half the fee. I tried to explained to them that I had not made this appointment prior to that day and had just called 1 minute earlier. Well they did not cared and I was scam out of money.
Don’t waste your money here and and go somewhere decent.

I’ve been coming to this location for a little over 3 years now. I’ve been seeing the same therapist for the entire time and I’m afraid to say who that is because it’s already hard enough to get an appointment with her. If you really want to know, you can message me and I’ll let you know.
The only downside with this location is the size compared to WC. As a result, you generally have to book appointments well in advance. In WC, I was able to sometimes get appointments the day before.
The people who work at the front are really friendly and helpful. I haven’t been to many of their locations but I have no intention as long as my person is there!
