Vanessa did my makeup on my wedding day (and as a trial-​run on the day of my engagement photo shoot). She is awesome. I loved the glam she added to my natural look, and she was a great listener about all my makeup fears. I felt beautiful, and my photos are amazing.
Not only did Vanessa make me look awesome, she was also a great presence on the morning of my wedding. She gracefully accommodated five different ladies in a short period of time. She was soothing to be with (for an excited bride!) and just totally professional. Thank you Vanessa!

It’s true what they say, she’s super fast! She is also very nice and fun to talk to. Great at brow shaping as well!

Vanessa is great! She is super nice and friendly, but also professional and very competent. She took just 20 minutes and it was almost painless! The salon is very nice and clean, and it’s easy to find free parking nearby. I’ll definitely be back!

Looking at the prospect of spikey legs this weekend on the river and having the luxury of the kids being in camp I thought what better time to try out a quick leg wax. While I have waxed in the past, I never had my legs done as I was freaked out at the pain and the cost at many salons. Vanessa took care of both of my concerns! The waxing was near painless and the cost was beyond reasonable to top it all off she was FAST, lightening fast without giving up on precision! I am thrilled I found Vanessa here on Unilocal and could not agree more with the other reviews! I may never pick up a razor again!

OK ladies. Let’s face it. If you’re reading a review about someone who waxes, you’re looking for the least painful option. Right? And the cleanest. And the quickest (see painless). Add some good humor and great customer service and you’ve got Vanessa.
Quick side note: you can find Vanessa at PinUp Emporium, a quirky and cool totally hip environment that makes you just wanna hang out with a cup of Chai and chat! Seriously, if you haven’t been here for SOMETHING: hair styling, art opening, great skincare products, nice gifty type stuff, facial or waxing. then you’re missing one of the coolest places in Marin.
OK, back to the wax. Vanessa can crack a joke and make you feel totally comfortable while she’s got hot wax on your vajayjay. I’m not joking. I have no idea how I can feel so totally relaxed while I’m butt naked and going through first world torture. She just has that way about her. And before you know it… WHAM! You’re done! Your legs are silky smooth and hydrated with some yummy smelling organic stuff that dropped from the heavens. But let’s not stop there…
Facial heaven. Seriously. No seriously. The room is quiet. Vanessa turns down the lights. Relaxing music. Yummy smells. And then she full on massages your face. I feel like my skin is jumping for joy! Massage, exfoliate, massage, warm towel, massage, clean towel, massage, cleanse, massage… you get the idea. I’m not sure if Vanessa knows her anatomy, but a facial means face. She does that whole massage and cleansing ritual on your neck and shoulders, too! And your head! Dude, seriously. The woman doesn’t know her anatomy and I’m not about to clue her in! And when she’s done you don’t look all red like someone’s been slapping you for a half hour (yes.you know… the way you look after YOUR facial if you’re not seeing Vanessa). In fact, when she’s done, you feel like a Goddess.
Like I said, wax and facial today = heaven.

I found her through Unilocal and I couldn’t be happier. All of the previous reviewers are spot on about how great she is.
I have seen her for brazillian waxes. Not only are her prices very competitive, she is so sweet and nice. She has magic hands and just gets down to business. She is quick and efficient with her waxing.
I have since referred my sister and she loves Vanessa also.
Tips
~Booking through her website is the easiest, not many places let you book within 24 hours. Always try to call her if your desired time is unavailable
~Located in Pin Up saloon at the end of 4^th street. Sort of next to United Liquors
~there is free unmetered parking available around the corner, not on 4^th street.

Vanessa has magic hands! She is seriously absolutely FABULOUS at her profession. She is super thorough and really fast with the waxing but she’s never cut me or left wax where it’s not supposed to be (like some other places have). I’ve been to several of the higher end salons for waxing and she is so much better. Super easy to schedule online and she’s so easy to talk to. Highly recommend!

Time to update! After I got a Brizilian from vanessa a few days ago I loved her that much I came back for a facial treatment! She was amazing! How good can you be? Wow… she definitely has great customer service & knows what she is doing.

Amazing waxer. Kind person. Great price. Vanessa is the whole package. I used to think waxing was not affordable for me, and honestly, I always felt like I paid too much for the treatment I was getting. After finding Vanessa that all changed. Her service is impeccable. My Brazilian wax is minimally painful and the hair grows back extremely slow and soft. Vanessa offers her service at a steal and she’s a total gem. We are lucky to have her.

Vanessa is the best. She is simply exceptional at waxing. If you are looking for quick, reasonable and really well done, I highly recommend trying Vanessa. She has at last started her own business and is located in a really fun salon/​boutique (Pin Up on 4^th St. in San Rafael). Give it a try!

Vanessa was brilliant! In a new place I was unsure of going to a new person. But I was so glad to have found her. She’s quick, very comforting and the Brazilian was almost painless.

Reasons why I think this is the best place:
1) extremely quick, yet Vanessa does an very clean and detailed job
2) reasonable prices — can’t complain at all and especially in Marin these prices are great
3) rad environment and Vanessa has a great personality that makes her easy to talk with during your appointment
Overall Vanessa rocks! She does an amazing job and is extremely fast but great at what she does. If you are looking for a long drawn out waxing experience… well that’s just weird so I have no words for you. If you are looking for a fast and amazing wax Vanessa is your girl. I will definitely be back!

I cannot recommend Vanessa enough. She is QUICK, thorough, well priced, and always very professional. I have followed Vanessa through a couple different day spas over the last 5+ years and am so thrilled to see her with her own space.

She’s been called the fastest waxer in the west, and that is an understatement. Vanessa is truly amazing. She takes a uncomfortable and usually painful experience and makes it fun, quick, and relatively pain free. I have been her client for 5 years, and never looked back. She is never allowed to go away. I don’t know what I would do without her.

Honestly no one but a masochist enjoys getting a Brazilian wax. I’ve been getting them for over a decade and I have done many things to try and make the task bearable. I’ve popped some Advil, taken shots, and even brought a teddy bear with me (only for my first 2 times). Despite these precautions, waxing down low was always something I dreaded, until I met Vanessa about 6 years ago. Vanessa is more than good at her job she’s incredible! She’s fast, friendly, and as painless as possible. When it comes to waxing she’s an expert and her prices are reasonable. I’ve moved back East in the last year and have had a slew of others try to fill her shoes but no one comes even close. She’s the only gal that I completely trust with my naughty bits. Seriously, if you’re looking for a waxer in the Bay Area there is NO ONE better than Vanessa.

I thought I would never try waxing again after a couple really bad experiences. I kept hearing great things about Vanessa and after about a year I finally decided to try again. She has totally changed my mind about waxing and now I go to her every month or so. She is so fast and it’s nearly painless. There’s some kind of magic in her waxing!

Vanessa is amazing at everything she does! She is a brilliantly quick waxer (which is great when your getting your naughty bits cleaned up). She does great brows, and she is highly knowledgeable about skin care! I drive from Napa just to see her! Plus, shes super friendly, which makes the previously mentioned «clean up» even more tolerable!
