Thomas Varin, DDS

I normally have a very definite dislike for dentists. Not this time around. Tom Varin is THE MAN. Not only is he an exceptional dentists, he is also a really nice guy. I could not recommend him with any more enthusiasm. I am in the middle of getting dentures. This is not normally a very pleasant situation, but he is making it something that is not the end of the world. If you are typically terrified of the dentists, this is the guy for you.

Ive had a number of dentists over the last 10 years and Dr. Varin is the best, here is why:
1. He knows his stuff. Every time he has done a review of my mouth he is spot on. He identifies the problems and tries to get them ahead of time. When I went back, after being out of town for a while, the problem spots that I had then were the ones that I needed work on.
2. Every piece of work he has done on my mouth has lasted, not so with other dentists.
3. Him and his staff worked with me to identify the problem spots and the most important issues and work within my budget to get each of them on a schedule.
4. Friendly staff!
5. He tries to keep the procedure as painless as possible, as I always find dental work painful this is a super plus.

After going to Dr Varin’s office for years I can say I had nothing but bad experiences. Wait times were always at least an hour. The staff would always make excuses, saying he had an emergency or something of the sort. Twice I made first appt of the day and the doc would show up to the office a half hour late each time. I guess the emergency was simply his non consideration for his patient’s time. He charges for every little thing, and as much as he can squeeze out of you or your insurance. He redid all my Amalgam fillings and numerous crowns. They have never stopped hurting since he worked on them. The crowns he did have all failed. He cost me thousands of dollars out of pocked over and above what my insurance covered and now due to his bad dentistry, I am having to redo all the work he did at a new dentist’s office so basically he is costing me double. In short, try someone else!

Dr Varin’s office is wonderful! The receptionist, Francisca, is a very sweet woman who cares about who and how you are, and the entire staff is dedicated to your comfort and well-​being. The office itself is comfortable and beautifully decorated with touches of Dr. Varin’s personality and life. The equipment used is state-​of-​the-​art; I hadn’t been to a dentist in 8 years, and was amazed to see my x-​rays manipulated on screen in front of me as the technician and later Dr. Varin himself showed me what they found and explained the decision-​making process regarding how to treat me.
I needed several old fillings replaced, and went back for a second visit to do so. He had some trouble making my gums go numb in one spot (out of four) and ended up sticking me with a needle 8 times (good thing they don’t terrify me anymore), but it finally worked, and everything turned out well. They offer various payment plans, and even offer a discount for paying with cash or check (which I did).
I highly recommend Dr. Varin for your dental needs, and will be going back to him for my next cleaning.
