The Dig Home Consignment

I found The Dig while searching for some non big-​box furniture options in Marin that might offer up something more interesting and well made than the usual stuff you find at West Elm and Crate and Barrel. I was specifically searching for a small dresser that could be used as a changing table in a nursery, but that could also then transition with time into a piece that we loved and could use around the house. The Dig is FULL of amazing finds; it isn’t your typical thrift/​consignment store stuffed to the gills with lots of junk, but rather a very thoughtfully curated space filled with gems to decorate your home. I ended up finding the PERFECT mid century modern piece that I am absolutely head over heels for, and considering the mint condition, walnut construction, and flawless finish, I got it for an amazing price (under $ 400 — just try even finding a dresser at one of the large furniture retailers for that amount!).
I was happy enough just to have found the dresser, but then the sweet owner, Nathalie, offered to drive the dresser to my house (in her car!) for me when she found out my car wouldn’t accommodate the piece and that my husband was out of town for the weekend and unable to help me move it. Within 20 minutes of buying the piece it was sitting in my daughter’s nursery, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with it. Her kindness truly made this pregnant lady’s day.
Don’t miss The Dig if you’re looking for unique home finds! Besides being stocked with so many amazing pieces, they also have FANTASTIC customer service. OH — and they carry a non-​toxic brand of chalk paint that comes in tons of colors that I’ll be going back for very soon.

The sales people are super helpful and nice. I had forgotten to ask for my Unilocal discount when I paid for my beautiful new chairs and yet they honored the discount when I came to pick them up several hours later.

San Rafael is very lucky to have The Dig. The owners have great taste in acquiring home décor and showing it off in their warehouse space. They are also very friendly, professional, and want to work with you to get that special furniture piece you are looking for.
On my first visit there with my boyfriend, we were surprised at the incredibly reasonable prices for all the furniture and various odds and ends available to purchase in the store. They had a grand selection of tables, chairs, wall art, and sofas in a range of styles and shapes. It felt very indie! My guy snagged a gorgeous cordovan office chair (midcentury design) for me for a steal!
There is a Flickr gallery that the owners use to post new arrivals, accessible via their website. I highly recommend keeping an eye out there for whatever gets acquired by the Dig. Better yet, why not stop in on a weekend, browse the selection, and have a friendly chat with the owners? They deserve more attention and their store holds cool treasures!

I know one of the owners, Eva, who has wonderful taste in pre-​owned furniture and accessories. She and her partner Nathalie have assembled a great store with affordable furnishings. I also like the fact that they are community-​based and donate a portion of their profits to charity. These ladies are also very ecologically minded, reminding us that re-​using and re-​purposing means less waste in the world.
My recommendation is that you give a call before you leave; hours sometimes vary, then visit The Dig and find the piece that has your name on it. The merchandise is quality and in great condition. You will be glad you did.

Natalie was great. I was holding on to an old Persian rug for years, finally decided to get rid of it. After having no success on Craigslist, I decided to give Natalie a try. She sold it in 2 weeks. I got paid and made room for a new rug. Wish I had more to get rid of. I’d gladly let The Dig do the work for me again.

I have successfully consigned several pieces at The Dig which have all sold at great prices. The process was super easy. The owners are very nice as well as extremely helpful and honest in setting expectations. The inventory is always changing which makes it a fun place to shop.

I love shopping at the Dig to see what good finds they have found and the prices are great too. I love that both Ava and Nathalie are so helpful and knowledgeable about their products as well as helping picking out pieces for your home. Not only do I shop there, but I’ve sold some of my own furniture there as well as I know it will find a good home.

What a great find! Nathalie and Eva were so friendly and obliging. Very easy to work with in both shopping and consigning. I predict this store will become the «go to» store for home furnishings.

I have been dealing with many consignment places during our move from a larger home to a mini one. Clothes, furniture, antiques. By far, this was my best experience at any business. The owners are so nice to work with. I felt very comfortable with their enthusiasm and professionalism. Their items are cool and fairly priced. Their process for accepting and following up with consignments is easy and fair. What a pleasure to work with The Dig.

I’m an interior designer and always looking for new and exciting home consignment stores. I heard about the dig and was excited about a new place. But unfortunately when I went in, the two women were talking with a customer and didn’t look up when I walked in with another women. We said hello and they looked over at us, ignored us and kept talking. Wasn’t impressed with the customer service and will definitely not be going back.

As owner-​operators, Eva and Nathalie are super helpful and genuinely interested in helping you find that gem you hope to find. We found a vintage Hermle clock in EXCELLENT working condition for our mantle. Thanks ladies! Needless to say, we’ll be back…

Great Shop! I have taken things here to consign and have had great results. Like any consignment shop, they don’t sell the next day… but the owners kept going and it sold at a price that made my Fiancée and myself happy :)
On the other hand, I bought a dresser /​armoire type cabinet from the Dig a couple of months after that that has been great for our home. Their selection is great. Mid-​century modern to antique to the newest… they seem to have it. If it’s not there the first time, check them out a week later. I know whenever I go in they seem to have new items.
They are in a warehouse so must be why their prices are a bit lower than other consignment shops, especially in Marin. I have been to Home Consignment and their prices are astronomical compared to these gals! Seriously, they are a incredible team and they are so nice to their clients. I would recommend The Dig to anyone who is looking for great items at fair prices.

I bought two gorgeous Crate & Barrel upholstered chairs for my living room! They are practically new, incredibly stylish, and I couldn’t be happier.

I was on the hunt for a round pedestal table for my eat-​in kitchen, when I came across a post on craigslist for one that appeared to fit the bill.
It turned out to be located at «The Dig» in San Rafael, which was a 45 minute drive for us. Wow! Was it ever worth the drive! And that’s a huge statement coming from a woman who’s husband HATES to shop, and has the patience of a gnat while I’m browsing and debating :-) Anyway… back to The Dig… Eva and Nathalie are Fabulous. They are friendly, professional, accommodating, great communicators, and have terrific taste!
Their shop has a wonderful selection of items ranging from classic to quirky with very reasonable pricing that would appeal to any bargain-​hunter. If I lived closer… I’d be there every weekend. But either way, I plan to touch base with them whenever I’m on the hunt for something specific.
BTW– We bought the table, and love it!!!

They’re a little hard to find and I would probably call ahead to make sure they are open. But it’s a consignment shop! That’s the name of the game! If you’re looking for a deal on QUALITY pieces, this is it.

I came across The Dig by reading an ad in the SF Chronicle. I was looking for a dresser and two night stands for my new house. I also like to check out re-​loved furniture and thought I would visit the Dig. I found this place had a lot of great pieces and I found my dresser and night stands. It is a warehouse so prices are so competitive, and the owners know their stuff and are so nice. I highly recommend you check out The Dig!

My boyfriend and I were out on a rainy weekend looking for furniture for our new apt and happened to stumble on this place via a ‘nearby’ search on my Unilocal app. Figured I’d pay it forward.
We were greeted by Nathalie and Eva, and were so impressed by their readiness to walk us around the space and help curate a few things for us. With all of the inventory, it can be overwhelming going into a furniture store (especially consignment) and find exactly what you’re looking for. We fell in love with a few pieces– a kitchen island that suited our standard super tiny San Francisco kitchen and a pair of book shelves. And while both were very reasonably priced, I haven’t been able to get into the new place to take measurements just yet to confirm I can fit them!
As soon as we get back on our feet after all of the moving expenses, I plan to make a trip or two to the Dig for more gems.

I never thought I would consign my stuff. But I did. I had an old school desk. Needed work, wooden etc… They looked at it and said yes. Two days later the desk sold for $ 125. I was gonna ask $ 10 at my garage sale. I’m ready to empty my garage into their warehouse. Super knowledgable and very nice. Yummy cookies too. Thanks Nathalie and Eva!

Being a recent grad and on a super tight budget, I was looking for solid pieces for my new apt at decent prices… and I didn’t want to have to go to IKEA…
So i stumbled across The Dig Home Consignment and boy was I pleased!
Nathalie & Eva were super sweet and listened to all my likes and dislikes, and worked well within my budget! I was able to score two beautiful mid century style chairs and a great dining table for maybe HALF of what I expected to pay.
They also have great accessories! I spotted some really fun pieces of art I’ll have to come back for.
They’re located near the Home Depot and parking was a breeze.
I def recommend stopping by and letting these ladies beautify your home!!!
