History

Established in 2002.

Tech Tonics was founded as Marintellect Consulting by Marin native Kevin Pedersen, who had recently moved from Silicon Valley back to where he was raised, in order to settle down and raise a family of his own. By 2012, the successful technology consulting company had grown dramatically and re-​branded as Tech Tonics LLC to reflect the fact that our service area had expanded beyond Marin County. Kevin and his team serve the North Bay from the Golden Gate Bridge to Santa Rosa, and everywhere in between, providing knowledgable, friendly technical advice and service. Tech Tonics employees understand technology, but more importantly, they understand people, and have built the business on a strong ethos of serving others, sharing knowledge and skills to enhance their lives.

Meet the Business Owner

Kevin P.

Business Owner

Kevin has always been driven to understand how things work and to share that knowledge with others.

For much of the nineties, he worked as a support engineer at the Center for Magnetic Recording Research and the Center for Excellence of Advanced Materials at UC San Diego, where he designed and fabricated scientific equipment, working closely with post-​doctorate and graduate researchers to develop materials used in modern computer technology.

During this period, he witnessed the birth of the public Internet and took on the role of webmaster to present the findings of several research projects. He was asked to help a small consultancy as a web and graphic designer in 1995, and has been working as an IT consultant ever since. Kevin’s career has also included design work for the Next Generation Space Telescope and NASA satellite payloads.

Kevin founded the successful consultancy Marintellect in 2002 and re-​branded as Tech Tonics LLC in 2012.
