I’m huge about customer service it’s always the biggest thing to me. This guys are beyond professional and took good care of my whole process came in to look at a cls550 they had online and it was exactly as they explained which is amazing because most places you go to they just lie to you over the phone to get you there and I’ve had that happen to me several times. He broke down the numbers and helped me get approved and get a great rate. Overall I got a new cls550 now. Thanks Omid!

I very rarely take the time to review anything on Unilocal,but Omid earned it. We wanted to purchase a vehicle from him, but discovered during the test drive it there was a bit of a hum coming from the front wheel well. He agreed to fix the problem before we picked the vehicle up two days later. When I came back to pick it up, I took it for a test drive and it seemed to be fixed, so we finalize the deal and I drove off. That weekend I drove to Santa Barbara and discovered the same hum happening intermittently during right turns. We took the car back to Omid. He agreed to make another fix, even though I had already signed off on the previous work, holding true to his original agreement to fix the noise. Not only did they address the problem, they did a quality job. We love our car!

I purchased a Mercedes from these gentlemen in June. Internet photos are what drew me out there. Driving impression was a different story. I was asked by the salesman if I wanted to test-​drive the car alone. Of course, I insisted that he come along to answer any mechanical questions that were sure to arrive. This is my second Benz, and something just didn’t feel right about the brakes. They were spongy. He told me that it was nothing to worry about; the car just needed to «warm up». I went ahead with the trade, and later found out that that «nothing» turned out to be $ 1200 worth of damaged struts, resulting in $ 1100 worth of new tires. I hope they read this one, take it to heart, and work a bit harder on image repair.

First let me say I am not a friend or family member of anyone at Marin Imports and am a senior female. I have purchased 5 Mercedes, 4 GL’s and one AMG from Marin Imports and their sister location North State Auto in Walnut Creek. The no pressure approach is a welcome change for me and I have never experienced this level of integrity and superb customer service. After a grueling experience when I bought 2 AMG’s at once at RAB Motors I was dreading buying a car, but this was so easy! I cannot recommend them enough.

I spotted this car BMW X3 white with a tan/​beige interior while searching for used cars with one owner and low miles and came across this small auto dealer in San Rafael. I saw it many times there, (internet) but I was waiting for the actual car I wanted and I said to myself, if this car sells during memorial day weekend, was not meant for me and will keep searching and did not sell, so a week after, sent my Mother and Brother to this dealer, because I could not take the time off work. They went there and met Tony, one of the sales managers there, a terrific person with a great personality, but mostly very well– mannered and my family were impressed with the quality of cars the dealer had and the customer service provided.
They took the car for a test drive and loved it. They called me. My Mom was to pay for the car cash to help me out with the interest so that I could pay her instead of having a car loan, but Tony was extremely nice and based on his honesty and knowledge in financial, recommended us not to buy the car cash and to put the money in the bank to get interest, because I could qualify for a low interest car loan and sure enough, I did. I qualified for a very low interest through their local credit union AND they paid for the membership, so we only had to put a down payment and thanks to his recommendation, I’m not only having a great good looking car, but with a low car payment. They provided me with all documents including the car fax.
We made the deal over the phone practically and Tony trusted us to release the car to me. I got the car and love it of course, but the only thing was that AC was off and not working, so we had to drive it back and without a hesitation, they took it back to fix it and out of their grace, gave me a nice loaner car from their dealer while the AC was getting check out in my newer purchased car.
Once it was done, it was a minor hose problem, Tony was extremely generous and nice to meet me half way to my job to exchange cars and I got my car back with the AC fixed and with 1 yr warranty on it. They also sold me the car with a courtesy 3-​month or 3k miles warranty at their repair shop only.
I honestly, never seen a salesperson at a car dealer going above and beyond the extra mile for their customers. Both Tony and Amid are amazing at what they do and this place has very high quality cars. I command this auto dealer and their sales managers for their quality and excellence in customer service, therefore, I give Tony a 5 star as well as the dealer and I will recommend that it is worth the drive to this place and I will return soon to get my son a newer car too.

Latest update 5/​29/​2015-​I bought a car with Omid – He made the process so unselling like-​I felt I was buying a car from a friend-​There was no pressure, and when I backed out the first day, it was like it didn’t matter to him at all, because he knew he would sell me a car. I got a great deal, love the car, and he is doing very well on post sale follow up, helping me get a 2^nd key for my car. I would not consider buying another car anywhere else…

OMID was just awesome… I’m giving them five stars, and I did not even buy a car-​YET-​from them.
The service he provide was outstanding, and even though I took a test drive on a 330CI, and told him I was not getting it, he was fine with that-​He wanted me to be happy with whatever I got-​So I gave him the specs on what I wanted, and now HE is going to be looking for my car, instead of me. I won’t have to waste time searching for what I want. I trust Omid and Marin auto totally – Great experience… Would not even think of looking elsewhere… Go with Northstate Auto in WC, or Marin Imports, and you can’t go wrong
Well, I wanted to write a great review, and talk about how fantastic the service was, and how much I love my car. Problem is, after quickly getting a phone call, and a few back and forth emails, the salesman (who I won’t name) never returned my last email asking him to call me-​I was a cash buyer, and I think we could have made a deal. Now I am off working with a few other dealerships… I am sure Marin Imports is a fine place to get a car-​But I wouldn’t know. If anything changes, I will update my review-​I wanted to have a great experience like everyone else.
Updated 5/​1/​15-​I got a call from salesman, after I sent an email asking if I offended him, and if that was why he did not call me back. He apologized, and said it was just crazy, because it was the last day of the month. We have appointment on 5÷2÷15, and we will see how it goes-​I will update review after that. It should be noted, the salesman read the email, and responded to me on his day off-​Kudos for that. Like Fredrik Eklund, a great salesperson never stops.

After a few horrible experiences at other dealers, Marin Imports was a breath of fresh air. Tony got us a great deal on a BMW, and though we didn’t have the greatest credit, we got a good rate, and our payments are better than I expected. They are even taking care of the detailing and fluids. We love our car and will be taking our son there when he’s ready to purchase a car. There was no pressure at all, and we were treated with respect. We can definitely recommend them.

Went in cautious and disbelieving that this experience would be any different from the games car-​dealers play. Left a great supporter of this place. Test drove on my terms, they fixed what I pointed out as show-​stoppers, and let me come back a couple of times as I was so sure this was going end up rip-​off. I have to say this was the easiest car buying experience I ever had. Period, hands-​down. Bought a car for my teenage son — Omid & Tony worked to get within my budget — NO HAGGLING! Just helpful. They did the paperwork in about 10 minutes right in front of me. Easy as pie. High recommended. I will come back to buy my next car.

WOW!!! The most, caring genuine and honest guys I have dealt with. Came here to purchase a vehicle for my uncle, They carry a great selection in beautiful used high end cars and they have a huge selection.

As I understand it this dealership recently went under new ownership and they’re doing quite a bit a repair their reputation. I decided to give them a shot and purchased a 2007 Mercedes Benz C230 from Omid about a month or two ago. The car was purchased outright so there was no financing.
Service during the sale was great. We test drove the car and Omid was upfront about pricing. We also purchased a warranty which I think is just good practice when gambling on a used car.
I think what really makes a dealer exceptional is the service after a purchase. This is where Omid did a great job. After about a week of driving the car we were noticing that the engine seemed to crank for an unusually long time before turning over when starting up cold. We took it to our local dealer for service and it ended up needing both fuel pumps replaced. Fortunately our warranty covered this minus a $ 200 deductible. I contacted Omid about this and he happily refunded us the deductible. Additionally, one of the rear seat belts turned out to be broken and Omid arranged for this to be fixed at a dealer local to us (Walnut Creek). He also made sure the dealer gave us a loaner car so that the service was on par with our usual Mercedes dealer.
So, why 4 stars instead of 5? Well to me 5 stars is perfection. Perfection from a dealer to me means that when an issue arrises they proactively contact you to follow-​up and make sure everything gets solved in a timely fashion. Although Omid was great, most of the follow-​up was left to me. When I got busy with personal issues and forgot to contact him things would grind to a halt. Overall not a major issue, I’m sure he has plenty on his plate but it’s enough that I would consider the entire transaction perfect. If I could give a 4.5 I would but Unilocal doesn’t allow that.
Good experience though, would recommend giving them a shot. Would also recommend getting a warranty when buying used. I’m not sure things would have worked out so amicably if the $$ amounts were higher due to a lack of warranty.

In the market for a AWD vehicle, the wife and I saw a car we liked online at MI. Unfortunately, when we arrived the car we had our eye on had been purchased not 5 minutes before we arrived. Tony, the Manager, then directed us to a beautifully maintained Jeep Grand Cherokee (I know, not an import!) and I fell in love with the vehicle. Tony treated is right, giving us a fair price on both the SUV and a four year extended warranty. We came away feeling taken cared of and ecstatic about our new vehicle. Tony was by himself on the lot that day, slammed busy, and he still took the time to answer all of our questions and close the deal, the right way. Thanks Tony and Marin Imports!!!

Best car buying experience I’ve ever had. We have purchased 2 new Subarus from Autowest Roseville in the past, and we almost purchased another one. But then we decided to buy used and found a Tribeca online through Marin Imports. I emailed back and forth with Omid (who had great follow-​up without pressure), and then my husband spoke with Tony over the phone. We received a fair price and zero pressure from him as well. He even «held» the car for us while we drove 2 hours to San Rafael. Tony was a genuinely nice guy throughout the entire experience, never tried to modify the price or sell us any unnecessary extras. He even called a week later to follow up and then overnighted me 2 sets of extra keys for the car. I never write Unilocal reviews, but I always refer to Unilocal before spending money. I know what a difference positive reviews can make for small businesses and I would definitely suggest these gentlemen for your next car purchase. Thanks again Tony!

8÷22÷14 Review Update
One of the new owners Tim B. reached out to me to let me know that Unilocal wouldn’t allow for them to get a new page since they are with the same business name. My understanding is that the previous owner is out, things are ran differently now, and customers are treated with care and respect. I feel that it is very important to reach out to unhappy customers, and it says a lot that he got to my review (from 6 years ago).
For that, I will update my review to a 4 star. Wishing this business the best!

The new owner is awesome I bought a truck that had a motor problem with the old owner even though the new owner was not under any legal obligation. TIm the new owner has bent over backwards to make it right and surely has done that I would highly recommend any business that puts customer satisfaction as high as a priority as Marin Imports has with me Thanks Tim and Tony

We never buy anything without doing a lot of shopping around, reading reviews, researching, etc. but we actually bought a car a few weeks ago from Tony at Marin Imports without doing any of the above.
We were in the tile place next door on a rainy Saturday afternoon and my husband saw a car he liked and we walked over to check it out. We had inherited a Toyota Avalon last year, as a third car, and knew we wanted to trade it in and upgrade to a another vehicle at some point, but this was very spur of the moment for us.
It was a wonderful experience. First, Tony is very knowledgeable about cars. We test drove a few different cars and he steered us towards the BMW 525i, which we happen to have experience with as owners. That is probably why we did not research, it’s a BMW, so you know that you’re pretty safe, and it turns out the model/​year got great reviews.
Tony gave us a good price on our trade in and the financing was very decent from a local credit union. When a light came on in the car we bought the next day, he was quick to help us get it taken care of through his mechanic. It was nothing serious.
For sentimental reasons, when I felt like I wanted to buy back the car we traded in a few weeks later, Tony was very generous with what he could offer it to me after having spent money on smog, inspection, a timing belt and painting the bumpers, but he hated to see me pay taxes, etc and gently tried to talk me out of it, and I eventually agreed with him.
That really touched me. These guys have been consistently A.O.K from the start.
All in all, they are nice and decent and we’re thrilled with the car we bought and the terms. Tony and his finance guy took care of us. I have never bought a car from a small lot like this, but they treated us so well and the car we purchased is so beautiful and clean, I can’t say enough about these guys. I highly recommend them!

Buying experience was ok. 2 – 3 stars. What came after merits no stars. I paid $ 3,900 for 3 years extended warranty on the car. When I called the underwriters to make a claim to get the CV boots replaced, the underwriters told me that Marin Imports had not sent back the signed contract nor the payment for the warranty! I bought the car in August 2012! That’s almost 9 months! What if I had not have to make any claims? Would they have just kept the money?!
It’s been 8 days since I first called them about the problem. The check is still a no-​show at the underwriters. Meanwhile, I’m just hoping that I don’t need a new axle instead of just getting the CV boots replaced.

I read the reviews here before going to the dealer, so I was cautious. But I did buy a car because they had a car that looked great and the price was reasonable. As soon as I walked out of the dealer, I realized that I forgot to check the carfax. It turns out that the car had had an accident reported, so I went back to ask about it. I was told that «it was just a bumper», and they told me they had a body shop looked at it and it came back with a clean bill of health. Also, the carfax report says «front side damage reported», but actually there’s also evidence of repair on the right side, in the back of the car. They said they knew nothing about it. Had I known, I wouldn’t have bought the car, or would’ve asked for lower price.
Anything you’ve ever heard about shady practices of dealership, this place is living it.

I purchased a used Mini Cooper from Marin Imports last week for my son. My son was going to take it to southern California and needed a dependable car. Even though the car was sold as is… he stood behind the car 100% for two repairs. He took care of the repairs with zero cost to us and my son made it to school on time. He really enjoys the car. So I wanted to leave a very positive review. I would most definitely purchase another car from Marin Imports.
Thank you for taking care of the repairs. The way business should taken care of.

Bought a used bmw from this place. Price was a little high but overal they were ok. Took for ever for them to send in the dmv paper work. Use them they will do an ok job.

Be Aware! Not to be trusted.
These guys unloaded a European sports car on us for $ 15k. We had it inspected by our mechanic who advised against purchase because of several significant mechanical problems. So that they didn’t lose the sale, Marin Imports offered to have the repairs done by their mechanic. We accepted and the work was supposedly done. Five months later and only 3k miles of driving, the engine is completely blown and in need of replacement, (approx. $ 10−12K in new work). Since the car is not worth it, we are left having to sell it off for scrap value.
Lesson here is to have your own inspections done and trust your mechanic’s point of view.
