H&R Block

Getting your taxes done is something you have to do, but you still dread it at the same time. It is a similar experience to getting your teeth cleaned. Larry Chu at H&R Block has made getting our taxes done a seamless, and almost exciting process. We’ve been to other tax preparation businesses where they punch in your numbers and practically rush you out the door. If I wanted that kind of service I would do my taxes online. Larry takes the time to go over all the paperwork and looks at ways for you to get the most bang for your buck. I have to admit I am not dreading getting our taxes done anymore!

Please, avoid these guys! They made a big mistake on our tax return and won’t help us sort it out at all. They keep repeating it’s our fault when we paid them to file our taxes. Because they are sitting behind their mediocre little desks and it’s not under their name, it doesn’t really matter to them after all. We’ll be dealing with h&r block’s main office. And like a previous reviewer will update if we get it resolved.

These guys royally eff’d up our 2009 taxes and I’m still feeling the pain, now in July of 2010. HR Block really did try to make it right but my beef is that this could have been avoided if the women who processed our amendment told us ONE thing and knew what she was doing. Also, they need to better communicate betwen offices because I went to 7 different people and was told something different EVERY time. Once I stop getting letters from the state, I’ll upgrade my review but until then, I’m sticking to 1 star.
2011 Update-​HR Block still SUCKS and I just got my 2009 taxes figured out. IDIOTS, complete morons, Avoid, avoid, AVOID.

After years of having my accountant do my taxes, my wife talked me into doing our taxes at this place.
I gave 3 stars because it was fine, but I had to go back 7 times to get my taxes finalized. It started when one of my employers sent tax info to me after we had already done the taxes.
So the amended return took more trips than I care for. Partially because the original guy who did our return was out of town on the Saturday before taxes were due.
The woman who took it from there was helpful albeit kept forgetting to ask me to bring pieces of information.
The last visit I made was at the request of the woman helping out. I was requested to drop off forms. When I tried to do that, the front counter woman was rude and made me come back again during the work week.
