Chief Legal & Business Strategist: Sandy worked in Business Affairs at LucasArts Entertainment, & as counsel for Mindscape, where she worked on hundreds of small to multi-million dollar deals, inclu. securing licenses from Tom Clancy, Stephen King, American Greetings, National Geographic & Beatrix Potter; negotiating OEM, affiliate and localization contracts worldwide; & managing due diligence and other issues during TLC’s acquisition of Mindscape/Broderbund, & Mattel’s $ 3.5 billion acquisition of TLC. She screened all hard and soft advertising, PR & marketing copy, & worked cross-functionally with marketing, Q/A, product development, sales & operations to develop and implement policies & strategies, overhauling & combining all agreements and processes after each acquisition. She later was General Counsel for GoodHome.com, Scene7, and FurnitureFind.com. She provides immediate, personalized assistance with core legal services and a results-oriented business perspective.

More important than the amazing and diligent work that Sandy does, it is who she is as a person! To sum up what I am trying to say into two words, «She Cares!» She has done work for me on several occasions and what blew me away was she the fact she followed up to see how I was doing, long after the work was completed. I’m starting a new business in corporate wellness and Sandy Shepard volunteered last month to give an evening presentation on Copyrighting at the Venture Greenhouse where I am an affiliate member. While several co-affiliates and client members have recently earned a Green MBA from Dominican, I’m a business owner since ’94 creating an entirely new and original corporate wellness venture no one else has yet conceived.
I hired Sandy to write a few contracts for me, and she was able to quickly assess what I needed and followed through with solutions to an intellectual property rights issue. It is great to have these problems solved. I sent out the contracts within a few days, and was suddenly free to move ahead with other work.
Sandy is very personable and oriented towards self-employed business people. So few lawyers target individuals and the consumer audience so effectively. I was delighted to see her web site — why not be casual? This removes all barriers for people who are afraid of making costly mistakes by hiring a formal lawyer who is poised to send a bill before the customer describes their situation.
I will use Sandy Shepard again — she is willing to work within my spending constraints, and she is a real person conducting her business with integrity. She is also friendly and fun to work with.

All I can say to sum up Sandy Shephard is she’s AWESOME. She’s known thru the Women in Consulting network as THE go-to-girl if you need a contract. She makes it fast, easy and painless on the pocketbook. Not to mention, fun — Sandy is dynamic, funny and larger-than-life.
Here’s how she works:
1. Tell her what kind of contract you need
2. She provides a menu of templates
3. Purchase the one that best suits your situation
4. Plug in terms specific to your deal
5. She’ll review them and charge you for her time — which is not bloated like most lawyers working on the clock
The bottom-line is I called upon her with a ridiculously tight deadline and an equally ridiculously tight budget, and she totally exceeded my expectations with the product and service she delivered. And she graciously answered my long list of naïve questions on contract negotiations without ever making me feel like a complete dumb-a** for not knowing the answers many years into having my own business.
