Chase Steven Dr DDS

I have been going to Dr. Chase for years and was happy with the treatments until now. I had to have an implant done which is almost a years procedure. When the final stage was ready to be done putting the crown on, he had been in an accident and was not able to complete the job himself so he had another dentist in the office do it. I was unsure of her abilities due to past treatment by her in the office and the oral surgeon who did the implant said he would do it for me. She said «no» due to liability issues (?) And so I had no choice but to let her do it. I am so sorry that I did, it was a disaster, she obviously did not know what she was doing, she had a dental assistant trying to screw the post into the implant and it was not going in after three xrays and 45 minutes of trying they decided it was in far enough. The dentist cemented the crown in and off I went. My tooth was so sore for 10 days that I did not know that something was wrong. I was in the process of moving out of the area, so coming back was not an option but I did notice the tooth was very loose after the swelling went down. I ended up having to go to a dentist in my area who had to break the crown off and redo the screw (which had been stripped). I contacted Dr. Chase for reimbursement for the work that had to be redone. At first he refused but then agreed to pay for half of it. BUT then said I still owed for a root canal done around the same time. I paid at the time of the visit for the root canal (which was another disaster and I still have tooth sensitivity but won’t go into that) and was told at the time I was paid in full. He is now saying my insurance didn’t cover their portion, so he wanted to deduct what he said I still owed from the «half» he was going to pay me back and said I still owed him $ 600…this is the first I heard of this! Is this the kind of dentist you want to deal with? Good Luck.
