In 1987 I started A-​1 Construction and have been serving Marin County’s construction needs with the highest possible quality at the lowest possible price ever sense.

I am a San Francisco native who was moved to San Rafael in the third grade. I have lived in bay area ever sense the third grade. I went to San Rafael high school and received an A.S. degree in electronics from the College of Marin.

I started A-​1 Construction in 1987 and have been happily building ever sense. I am a natural born builder. Every job is different because of the location. The grade of the land and the vegetation. When added all together I have a new problem to solve every day. Building is solving problems and figuring out how to make things look their best for its particular situation. The satisfaction I get from that is why I love what I do.

Mike and his crew are true professionals. I can’t say enough good things about them.
It started with a competitive bid, they began the work on the day they said they would, they were punctual, and they cleaned up each night before they left.
They did a great job on my deck and retaining walls, solid!
Mike went out of his way so my dogs could access to the yard while the construction was going on. Thanks! I highly recommend you talk to Mike before starting your project because he is very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with!
