We just got approved for this location and looking forward to making it our new home sweet home! so far the process is going smooth, Tiffiney Chavis has been great with us from the moment we arrived. Despite I did not make an appointment she has taken care of us in such a professional manner. the rest of the staff have been so far amazing. thank you guys and look forward to seeing you soon.

6 months and no hot water! Our electrical sockets only have one of the two sockets working correctly. When we attempt to plug in two appliances, the breaker pops. Management clearly does not care.
Thank you for the message Kevin. I called your office yesterday but they said you’re out until next week. But is my understanding that your office has offered as a remedy hat we move to another unit at our time and expense. As an update, The water was hot for about 12 hours and the sockets still do not work. I’ll discuss upon your return next week.

My fiancé and I just recently moved out of our harbor view, 2 bedroom apartment at The Vue after a year and 10 months of living there. Overall, we both really enjoyed living there!
The building is relatively new and it’s well maintained. It features great amenities, including a roof top BBQ/​lounge area (which we loved!), pool, jaccuzzi, gym, yoga room, and community room.
I’ve talked to a few residents in the building and it sounds like everyone has mixed experiences, mostly having to do with the water issue that many others have included in their reviews here on Unilocal.
Here are a few pros/​cons based on my experience!
PROS:
— Thick concrete walls so the apartments are relatively sound proof.
— You will love the roof top BBQ area!
— The maintenance team is great! Both of the main maintenance guys were super helpful and always took care of requests right away.
— Eric and Tim up at the front desk are amazing!
— Plenty of parking spots for your visitors, inside the structure and outside on the streets.
CONS:
— Inconsistency with the water temperature. We rarely had issues with getting hot water (we had problems getting cold water) so it didn’t bother us too much as other residents. I’ve talked to several residents complaining about how they never got hot water.
— CONSTANT water shut offs because they can’t fix their water issues. Seriously, they will shut off water at least once a month and the issue is still ongoing.
— HIGH increase in rent every lease term. We renewed at a +$ 120 increase after our first year which we weren’t thrilled about but it really isn’t too bad. We are now in the middle of buying a house and were thinking of renewing on a month-​to-​month term until we were ready to move into our permanent home. For a month-​to-​month option, they were going to raise the rent +$ 900 per month! We’ve never had any issues, always paid on time, and even went down to talk to the leasing office but they were not at all interested in talking about it. For a full lease term (12 months), they were asking for around +$ 250.
— The leasing office staff is different from those at the front desk. They are more like the people at the DMV, especially Keith.
— We had disgusting neighbors on the 4^th floor that would let their dogs take care of business right out by the parking structure bridge by the entrance of the building. Seriously, every time I walked out from the apartment to the parking structure, there was a huge puddle of dog pee and it smelled awful! I have a dog and love pets, so don’t get me wrong but be respectful of your neighbors; take your pets down stairs!

My family has lived at Carmel Vue for 5 months. With the exception of just two weeks we were without hot water. After dozens of complaints made to management, calling local officials, and a management change, it seems that the problem may have finally been addressed.
On a positive note, the staff, maintenance, and service people are sensational, responsive and attentive. The facilities are well maintained, with the exception of the perimeter.
The windows were just cleaned, which begins to address the perimeter (sidewalk) concerns. Perhaps the new management will turn this potentially beautiful property around.
Thus far, disappointed.

Wow we moved out two months ago and was thinking that maybe we’d get some of our security deposit back. Carpet we understood because it’s the shittiest damn carpet you could imagine. We take our shoes off before we go inside but it doesn’t matter at all.
They will nickel and dime you for anything and everything. We wiped down the walls before we left and it was in the same condition we received the apartment in. We never put up any picture frames or anything. Still charged us to completely repaint the apartment $ 319.51.
Arbitrary cleaning /​damages charge of $ 115.
$ 473.95 for carpet replacement — we get it. we have dogs and they track dirt + shitty carpets = replacement
This one was really upsetting — $ 150 for grout cleaning… charged us $ 150 to clean the space in between the tiles? Really? I’ve been told they changed management and the crew is all gone so there’s no one to complain to even if i wanted to.
There is no reason to repaint the walls that weren’t in need of repainting and fuck off with the grout cleaning fee. This place is notorious for fees and penalties and just being rude to people.
The only good thing about this place is the concierge staff. They were wonderful.

Wow! What can I say that hasn’t already been said? I absolutely love this place! I’m picky and have high standards and this place has met them all! The staff are friendly, professional and have class. This place spoils you with a pool, jacuzzi, gym, conference rooms, yoga classes, furnished lobby, massages and a beautiful view from the rooftop with a fire pit and state of the art grills! I’m proud to say that this is my home and I love the benefit of knowing that when I go to sleep at night, I’m safe. Staff and security are always on the premises and cameras are in all public areas of the building and parking lot. The doors are accessed with an electronic device given to residents only. Considering the amount of residents that this building holds, you never feel crowded and the environment is very quiet and relaxing! Maintenance is handled professionally and efficiently and the premises are kept clean. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat. Thank you for creating such a pleasurable living environment!

Moving into my sixth year staying at The Vue, with that being said I must obviously like it. Every year my lease comes up I do have a thought to move, not because of any issues with The Vue but because I have a desire to explore or live in other parts of California, ie. South Bay or Orange County. So what keeps me here, first off the building is beautiful, everything is new, high ceilings, granite, stainless appliances, walk-​in closets, washer and dryer in the unit, covered parking, the spectacular view, quite neighborhood, walking distance to shops, restaurants and farmers market. Right next to the water with a great breeze and a view that is always changing, I love looking at the bridge at night all lit up. Beautiful pool with cabanas, hot tub, gym, community room with big screen TV, fabulous rooftop with BBQ’s and fire pits, office space and Pilates/​yoga studio. Close to all the major highways, 15 minutes to Long Beach, 30 minutes to Los Angeles, Redondo, Hermosa, Orange County and wonderful hiking 10 minutes away along the coast in Palos Verdes. It’s a fabulous little hub. I have looked at other places when my lease comes up and for the price, the elegance and location, nothing that I have found yet can compare. Everyone in the leasing office is super nice, Nichole has always gone out of her way for me and Kieth is a sweetheart. I love everyone that works at the front desk and all the maintenance people and cleaning crew are always welcoming you with a smile and they keep the building well maintained and super clean, shiny and smelling great which I really appreciate. I love the fact that it is a non smoking building, every now and again I can smell someone smoking which is unfortunate but for the most part everyone that I have met here at The Vue over the past 6 years have been or are super friendly and respectful. It is a very diverse building, not only people from different parts of the US but also from different parts of the world, which is awesome. I live on the side facing the bridge and never hear my neighbors, the building is very well built and well insulated. The only noise comes from the ships or the Train Caboose and sometimes traffic but it becomes like white noise. I have heard that being on the pool side you do get more noise from the pool, but generally the pool is never very busy, even on weekends. If you are thinking about moving, this is definitely a community worth checking out. Happy Hunting.

My best friend is looking to relocate to the area and The Vue was part of the list of apartments that we toured. This place was by far the best in terms of floor plans, it has gated parking, stainless steel appliances, a fitness center with ²⁴⁄₇ access. My friend was looking for a place with a convenient location, pool, amenities, and friendly staff. This place has everything that she wants and the rooftop lounge is so impressive. The staff was also very helpful with things to do in the area which is important when you are relocating. I can’t wait for my bff to get a job offer so I can go visit!

We tried to contact you for 3 weeks, email phone calls and messages left with other staff and never heard anythjng back, but you can respond to a bad Unilocal review within minutes? Thanks for proving our point exactly on how things are run around here. Also the water has been off since about 3:00 today and an email wasn’t sent out until 6:40 about it??? Another perfect example of how ‘on top of things’ the staff is around here. It’s very sad because we love the location and the views, but we are definitely looking at relocating. I hope people read these reviews because we were very pleased at first sight, but have literally, with no exaggeration, been inconvenienced since the DAY we moved in.

The Vue I must say is a very nice spot to be living in San Pedro. It has everything you’d want including a pool, gym, great view, and great environment. The tour I was given by Shareece was very professional and she showed me all the perks of being a resident at the Vue. She answered all my questions and I’d say I haven’t had that much fun on a tour. Thanks for the experience it was one to remember.

I had a wonderful experience at The Vue. Shareece did an excellent job as our tour guide; she showed us all the benefits it could have on our lives to live here as well as the great view of the docks.
Having gym access ²⁴⁄₇ and pool access until 10 on weeknights was also a plus. All around great experience at The Vue today in San Pedro all thanks to Shareece.

The Vue is a great choice if you are looking to live in San Pedro. I prefer and am use to having walk in closets with lots of room for my shoes, as well as upgraded features and this place has it all. The open windows and views of the Harbor is the perfect backdrop as well. The apartment has a custom feel and I feel spoiled by the details.
Just when I thought they showed me everything, there was more! Gated parking, Stainless Steel appliances, A rooftop lounge, 24 hour fitness, and a Helipad… they really thought of everything!
The staff is nice and have all been very helpful with all my questions and concerns. I am relocating from San Diego and have been searching for a place just like this for a really long time! Hopefully all goes well and I can have a stress free move here in no time:))

This review is based on our impression of the property and experience with Nicole. This was one of the place we had looked among many others. And if it were up to me, we would have made this our new home. Unfortunately it is a little far from my brother’s work so we had to compromise with a closer location. Nicole is sincere and beyond helpful and patient with us. She answered all of our questions in regards to the property and the units.
The building and amenities are well maintained and nothing short of amazing. Same goes for the units that we saw.

Eric (Concierge), is ultimately the reason why I decided to write this review…
My experience has been very positive so far. My g.f. & I have lived here for just over 1 month now. From the beginning, Keith was always on-​top-​of-​it and extremely professional especially considering how busy he is (showings, paperwork etc…).
The building is amazing, I have a high floor Harbor View which adds to the effect. I’ve met some interesting people already and I’ve only used the roof area once and the pool area twice so far. Residents here are friendly in fact more so then any place I’ve ever lived in LA. Yes there are some rules but if you dissect them it makes complete sense why they exist.
to the point… I’ve recently had an exceptional experience with the best concierge on this planet named ERIC! Eric is the most friendly and positive employee I’ve met here so far. Always willing to help and he even goes out of his way to assure you are taken care of. If everyone at Vue had his frame of mind then I don’t see why I ever would move from this place other then when I’m ready to buy.
A special thank you to Eric for making our transition from Redondo as smooth as it gets.

I was amazed how quickly the staff reacted after I left the review here. Jennifer helped me to resolve the issue. I didn’t get the move-​in inspection but she confirmed to take the pics I took on damaged area. Another female staff (will not mention the name) who partially caused the issue also called me and asked in whining voice «Why would you leave the such feedback?» I explained to her what she already red in my review.
The building is very quiet and clean. They keep the glass very shinny. The hall ways and carpets are spotless clean. I see people cleaning and vacuuming the elevators and floor every single days and greeting me every morning. I can see they put lots of effort to keep the community neat and refreshing.
My unit is facing the harbor port and gets the brightest sunrise light through the panoramic windows which wakes me up in the morning without alarm. The night view is fantastic too.
If you have T-​mobile phone, the service might not reach out to your unit due to thick concrete wall that keeps the building quiet. But you can request free wifi calling adopter from your carrier and it resolves the issue.
It has been six month now since I moved in, and I can tell it is great place to live. I enjoy the free yoga class and gym. They also have the best bbq grills at the roof level along with breathtaking view.

We have lived here for a few years now and still love it! The apartment community, the view and the amenities are why we stay. One of my prerequisites was an in-​unit washer and dryer, the Swiss brand, Asko is excellent. The units are well insulated for noise abatement. Additionally, the office staff is great and they make an effort to get to know the residents. Lots of interesting /​planned events hosted by the complex that are a bonus. There are bars, restaurants and San Pedro events within walking distance which we love. If we end up moving it will be because of a rent increase.

This is an update to my prior glowing review… the circumstances changed significantly between now and 3 years ago when we first moved in. While the amenities are still awesome and the apartments are comforable they desperately need to work on their customer service approach!!!
Carmel Vue management cannot keep staff in the building, with new staff every few months, because they treat their employees like crap who in turn treated us like crap, literally. Not only were the leasing office employees rude to us but they are sue happy. My advice: do not expose yourself to the drastic rent increases, odd lease terms, ridiculous rules and risk of being unrightfully sued. That being said, we enjoyed most of our time at Vue but in the end it was not the worth the hassle of trying to leave that place. We are much happier now in our cheaper, bigger townhouse down the street!
