Jackson’s Place

After waiting over 10 minutes to have our order taken in an empty bar while a server had some personal conversation with obvious friends my friend and I decided to leave. Won’t be back. I understand why it was empty when ports o call was packed.

Nice atmosphere, they have live bands on weekends. They have lots of different types of beers and wines. I wish they had a better food selection.

Super low key. Really nice friendly staff. There was a live musician playing when i came in and he was wonderful! Delicious food! Nice place to just chill! 5 stars!

I went for my first time last night with my girlfriend. She’s been several times. The lounge has a lot to offer; live music, board games, wine, brew and Belgian waffles for dessert… unaware of another establishment that offers breakfast fare for dessert, especially not in the area. I was able to watch the Kings game too, which is an added perk for LA Kings fans.
Things that need improvement: advertising; had it not been for my girlfriend, I would had never known it existed. Getting in to the Farmer’s market on Friday’s could be of benefit to spreading their name around town. It was third Thursday last night and no one was on 7^th; maybe offer specials during those busier times in downtown. The businesses on 6^th are average with an exception to Baramee Thai, so I could see Jackson’s Place becoming a big hit.
All-​in-​all, a swanky place that has a lot more to offer than your traditional lounge in the area. Hope to see the aforementioned improvements take place.

A cool addition to downtown San Pedro for craft beer aficionados. It’s not a Pedro dive bar … But I like Pedro dive bars. It’s not the kinda bar you go to to watch a ballgame. This place is clean & nice. The staff is nice. The crowd is nice; they don’t seem like typical locals. I don’t think they brew their own but they Have an impressive selection of quality choices, he said as he sucked down an 8.5% 22 oz local Port Brewing Mongo IPA … & loving it. They also have a chic little menu of hip snacky type things; but eat at a cool local restaurant then come here and drink then go down to Godmothers for some live music with the locals. That’s what I say.

If you want to have fun evening with a great atmosphere, music, appetizers, and alcohol… you’ve got to try this place!!! The service was AWESOME! Our bartender Miguel was so sweet. He created a nice flight for us to try before we ordered, and he was very attentive. Perfect cheese plate at Jacksons, and the place is spotless clean, A++++++!!! We will definitely be returning. Im excited to see how this place is on the weekend.

This is a side gig and feels like it. Opens late for a Pedro bar and has a fairly good beer and wine list.
No kids allowed. That’s not very welcoming given all the families in the area.
Food is usually good, ⁶⁄₁₀ but they don’t move product quickly enough so it’s sometimes stale and old tasting, definitely order in.
Music is obnoxious — some cheap web-​based playlist a fraction better than elevator music.
They have Dodgers games but close before most games end — again not very welcoming and a result it seems of the owners half-​assed approach.
It is quiet, in general and a chic comfortable space. But the owner’s inexperience and general disregard for their customers makes this seem more like the whim of a couple of well-​meaning people with way too much money and far too little relevant knowledge.
Nikos (around the corner) will be packed while Jacksons serves two people.
There’s a reason for that.

Was visiting and came across this great beer and wine bar. They have a great variety of craft beers on tap and also in bottles! The staff was very attentive and friendly! Definitely a new favorite place to revisit!!!

This new bar was a nice surprise. We came here to attend a Paint Nite event and found out that this place just opened up about 6 months ago. They have a nice selection of appetizers and local brews. Many of the other pastries are Freddy from the local bakeries. They make their own Brie and baguettes. The owners are very warm and friendly.
Perhaps, there could be a little bit more available for drinks or appetizer options in the menu but overall a nice place to stop in and hang out with friends. I also read a previous review on an imposed tip on paint nite patrons, and they did not do that to us so hopefully, policy had changed.

Very friendly staff with great service. You can sample the tap beer, nothing worse than buying a pint you don’t like! The food was nice and lite. If you want to try some diffent beer and wine with out the attitude you can encounter at San Pedro Brew co. This is the place.

Great sandwiches, great beer. Had a surprise when 2 young ladies came in with guitars and played a few tunes.
Service was lacking a bit, we had to go to the bar and ask for everything. A little more attention would have been great.
Overall, I would come back and give it another try.

Great place! Linda and Melissa are smart business people, and love their customers. They provide local and microbrew beers and rotate their selection of beers and wines frequently. Their appetizers etc. are the best in the area. Love the local music, especially on first and third Thursdays, that isn’t too loud and you can have a conversation. Clean and hip in the industrial chic style.
Where else in San Pedro are you allowed to bring food from in from restaurants or the food trucks and have a seat?
When they are swamped, especially on first Thursdays, wander up to the bar and order your food or drink.

Looks pretty cool from the outside and we walked in. We got greeted by some female sitting a table. Hello she never got up. So we seated ourselves. We sat at the table and got our own menus. They have great beer and if you’re into costco food the place for you. Bye Bye

You know that feeling when you walk into a friend’s home, get served drinks and appetizers, and then spend a few hours of time with great company? It’s like that. The service is excellent, the drinks are tasty, the prices are reasonable, and the lounge is comfortable. Bring your friends and be prepared to make new ones!

Great new wine and beer bar in 7^th street. Amazing selection of micro brews from around the country. Nice small plate and appetizers selection. Select nights feature live local musicians.

Saw this new joint open a few weeks ago. Finally had time to try it out. Food is way above average. I had the cheese and meat plate. It was delicious with the cranberries, walnuts and capers. The presentation is gorgeous. The pretzel plate is also delicious. Nice warm pretzels and honey mustard dipping sauce. Beer selection is great and the staff is friendly. If you are in San Pedro you should definitely give this place a try. Very hip and great atmosphere.

Nice friendly staff. Interesting wine list. I’ll have to come in a few more times before I really decide but definitely worth checking out again.

Full disclosure: I’ve only been once. For beer. But I really liked it.
Yes, the draft selection was small and that was kinda disappointing. I didn’t get to try any of the snacks, but I’m glad to hear that they allow take-​out.
When I went they had Stone and Monkish, amongst a few others, on tap. I might have been automatically endeared towards them because of the Monkish.
But the one thing that really stood out to me was the atmosphere. I loved it. The lighting over the bar – so unique. The blue, the dark wood, the concrete. I really liked the feel of the place. And they had some cool, local artwork hanging as well. AND good music to boot. Classic rock mostly, but that’s right up my alley. Aesthetically and vibe-​wise, it’s almost exactly the kind of place I’ve been hoping to find. It was laid back, you could talk to the people across the table, but it wasn’t dead or quiet. Also, the service was notably friendly. I liked that.
I’m excited to go back. I really hope this place sticks around for awhile.
I wouldn’t have said their beer/​wine/​food selection didn’t make sense and was lackluster. I would expect if a place alleges to be a beer and wine lounge, they would have a rotating variety of high-​quality beers and wines to choose from. The selections weren’t bad, they’re new, and I’ve only been once, so I don’t know what their rotation looks like. Also, there’s something to be said for this kind of place in a neighborhood. I liked it because I felt like it’d be a comfortable place to hang out, first and foremost. And they offered quality beers on tap for a reasonable price. Not much more I want from a neighborhood watering hole. They’re not trying to be a brewery, a British pub, or a wine bar. And that’s good. It’s a place to hang out and have a drink. To me, it seems like a modern riff on a normal neighborhood bar for people who like craft beer.

I have been excited to check this place out ever since I heard it was opening. I love craft beers and San Pedro needed a nice lounge to set itself apart from the number of shady bars we have in town.
Most beers and glasses of wine are $ 6. They had a good small variety, though I do hope they rotate some or maybe have seasonal ones– I would love if they got Belching beaver or Rogue beer! They do have stone beers and some I had never heard of, so that was fun to try new brews. The coffee stout from san Diego– Modern times was absolutely delicious! My favorite beer of the night.
They also allow you to order take out to the restaurant– an awesome concept. I hope more San Pedro eateries will take part in delivering to the bar!
The servers were really nice and attentive.
The lights are too bright in there and they need more comfortable seating to be considered a lounge. I like the dark wood, chalk board wall, and the light fixtures they added to the bar, but those bright lights that are leftover from the gallery take away from the rest of the set up. They also have random paintings and butterflies on the back wall that sort of mix up the vibe. It’s just an odd mix of styles. I also wish the music was turned up a little bit because they played good songs, but I could barely hear them.

Great addition to San Pedro! Very clean and bright. With Great service and appetizers. great service from Monte, Daniel & Manual. definitely recommend this place if you want to just relax have some beer and wine with something light to munch on.
