Went there tonight after not going for a few months and it wasn’t the same. Hostess was not too friendly and the quality of food wasn’t the same. Still an ok spot if you don’t except a lot.

Very inconsistent service, last week was the worst of all them. Chip were not full cooked had a plastic texture to them. Service disappeared on us so we literally had to hunt them down. The part that got me angry is that it wasn’t even that busy. This is probably my last time coming to Acapulco of San Pedro.

Location of this place a beautiful! This was my first visit to this location and it felt it was a hidden beauty. The place was really busy. Inspire of that the service was very prompt and friendly. Food was great and ver very large portions, you will agree once you see the pictures.

Horrible services, drinks and food. It’s really gone down hill with everything. Save your money and go to El Pollo.

Very nice buffet offered on Sunday. Get there early or else you will wait in line… They offer a wide range of foods to choose from when there. Also headed there last weekend on a Saturday morning and enjoyed ourselves. Like the option of eating indoors or outdoors near the water.

Nice Sunday brunch. Kid friendly. Well priced. Good food. But the wait time for a table sucks.

I had such good drinks here, food I can’t say much on it for this particular time but did get an app, and that was on point, but the drinks though. A okay with me, strong and worth the dollars. My server was also very on point. I mean for a moment I even got extra attention which is nicely welcome from kind staff, thank you rosa and Soledad. Will come back for sure.

I remember growing up my mom used to take me here all the time after school on Tuesdays for the buffet. Now they don’t even have that anymore. Over the years it seems the service has really went down. From customer service to cleanliness this place would have to be a 1 on a scale of 1 – 10. It makes me sad that I have to write this review but this place has gone down.

I’m sorry to say this but from the moment we got here it’s been a disappointment! 1) They have a pluming problem in the ladies restroom and despite being aware that the toilets are leaking and the only non-leaking toilet stall, the handicapped one, has no lock on it, they haven’t expedited a plumbing service or sent someone to the local hardware store for a lock. 2) The food is pretty lousy. Just because you put it in a tortilla and add it to a plate with beans and rice, doesn’t make it good. We all sampled each other’s food and the consensus was it was pretty bad. Additionally, we had a 16 month kid with us and the rice was so spicy we couldn’t give it to him. The saddest part of it was the Sangria. Never, ever, ever have I had anything like it; bad, all the way around bad. Overall, I have to wonder how this place has survived. Is it that people in this area eat elsewhere and only those from out of town think to come here or do the locals not know what Mexican food is supposed to taste like? My husband just added that not even the child and salsa were any good. Speaking for this party of 20, save yours appetite for another place! Taco Bell would have been better, hands down!

I haven’t visited an Acapulco in years. Drive by this spot and immediately craved their vista del mar, an old familiar favorite. Unfortunately they no longer make this dish. I went with the crab enchilada. I liked it except for the green sauce. Generous snow crab tucked in the enchilada. Their Mexican Cesar Salad was delicious too. Strawberry margarita was delicious. Enjoyed a great early dinner overlooking the sea port with all the cargo arriving. Service was excellent. Management even came by and checked on our meal. I enjoyed revisiting a familiar favorite.

Great bar to have drinks at! Beautiful view of the ocean and will even see the occasional cruise ship pass by! Nice thing to do on a Saturday afternoon.

Came here strictly to drink margaritas. We had 2 margaritas. A Cadillac and a blended strawberry one. The margaritas were really good and the view of the bar was great too because it faces the water. On a sunny day I recommend coming here then getting food at the fish market.

I had the worst service for a large group. Two of us didn’t get their meals the entire time despite numerous reminders. I didnt get my tortillas with my fajitas. We ordered guacamole with the fajitas and it didn’t come until after we were finished with the fajitas. The only thing that came out on time was the alcoholic drinks. The bar was doing a great job. I spoke to the manager and she responded by saying that we shouldn’t have asked for seperate checks. No apology, no offering to comp food. I asked if seperate checks has anything to do with the food coming out on time and she said yes. But I then told her that my table didn’t ask for separate checks. The food is ok, not great, the location is beautiful and the patio was pleasant. It was the service that made the experience horrible. I hate writing bad reviews but I have to warn others becuase when I went up to speak to the manager, another person was conplaining about the service.

This Acapulco has two really great things going for it. The margaritas and the location. Seriously, I have been coming to this location off and on for over 30 years. From all the way back when it was El Passout Cantina. We always loved the setting, especially in the warm summer months. There is just something about getting sloshed outdoors on the waterfront with family /friends in the late afternoon on a warm summer day. Watching the ships traverse the harbor, tanking beers, margaritas and chips… Livin’ the dream. Really, all that has changed since the transition from El Paso Cantina to Acapulco way back when is the name and the food quality. Not the décor, not the furniture, nada. While El Paso was far from gourmet, it was pretty good. The fare at Acapulco is typically decent, but can be a bit inconsistent. You really never know what you’re gonna get. Staff is always cordial but when it gets busy, service can be a tad slow. But then… There are the margaritas. These baby’s,(especially the Cadillac version), make up for it all. After you get a few of ‘em in you, everything tastes better anyway and you don’t really give a flyin’ FUC… My suggestions… Go on a nice warm day, sit outdoors on the patio, pound a few double Cadillac margaritas and no matter what the food is that you order, it will serve the purpose. Last but not least… If you follow the recipe I laid out above, get yourself a Lyft or Ube it. Popo be watchin’!!!

My wife and I were going on a cruise, but the ship wasn’t allowing us to board yet. So, we walked over to this restaurant, and saw that they had Sunday brunch starting at 9AM. It was awesome. Our waitress never let our champagne glasses get more than half empty. The food choices were expansive, and everything tasted amazing! All of the staff were extremely nice, and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be going there again.

I’ve been to a few Acapulco’s in different locations most of which have been somewhat the average standard issue chain Mexican restaurant. Often good enough if you want a decent taste of Mexican… food. I will say this particular location is the best Acapulco so far. We ate at the bar so the meal was for the most part small bites plus an order of shrimp, steak and chicken fajitas. Pretty good stuff. The beverages were equally well balanced. Not too sweet and not too weak but also not on the other end of the spectrum. To note, my review of the food is prior to enjoying too many libations so as to provide a fair and more accurate review. For the record, this review is a 3.5 stars. Enjoy folks!

First and last time at this location, for one particular reason. Overall the wait time is average and the food was okay. The food is typical of a Mexican chain restaurant. I had only one complaint about my dining experience which I made known to the manager. The tables at this restaurant are awfully dirty and sticky. The servers wipe the tables down with towel cloths that are noticeably dirty. And the grime on the tables is incredibly thick as if never scrubbed off. The manager had the nerve to say that the tables had been recently painted and that’s why they’re so sticky. So I said, «really, is that why I couldn’t pick up my plate off the table?» and he looked at my plate with wonder and leaned over to take my plate, and sure enough he had to make a decent amount of effort to pick it up. He then said he was sorry about my concern and thanks for the suggestion, but it’s the paint. The manager didn’t care one bit and walked away. At another table across from me, a group of women came in to be seated and they complained amongst themselves about how dirty and sticky their table was as well. Two servers at different occasions wiped down their table and yet it was still dirty and sticky. So it wasn’t just me.

I have been to this location several times over the years, but this was my first return in probably 10 years. Take this for what it’s worth, but the place felt like it stood still in time, I could see little to no changes. Because this is in a popular area in San Pedro on the water, it is generally crowded. Expect a wait, but you can make a reservation, which is suggested. We waited in the outside area which was nice, with music and comfortable chairs. I made the 30 minute wait more tolerable by going to the bar to get drinks and chips, a service they SHOULD provide if they wanted to make more money, and aspire for better customer care — but they don’t. For seating, you have two options, inside or outside. The outside aspect is nice on a warm night. However, the beautiful waterfront is very commercial with the shipping containers and freighters, so it not the serene setting you think of when it comes to being on the water, but it is relaxing. The food is all middle of the road, it feels like Mexican chain food, which is appealing to me depending on my mood. I had the carnitas gigante burrito, which was chalked full of pork and had a good taste, solid B+ grade. My wife had Caesar salad and a crispy shredded beef taco, which she said was a solid B grade. They also have plenty of kids options. As one would expect, they have a variety of Mexican beers and several margarita options. We stuck to the basics and went with a few strawberry margaritas, which hit the spot. The décor of this restaurant y cantina is dated, but it feels fitting. My overall experience was OK, if you are in San Pedro and looking for Mexican, this will suffice, but I would not go out of my way for this experience.

Ok I decided to give this place another try, for the fourth time. I finally felt happy with everything. The service was marvelous I came on a Sunday for my birthday. I cannot remember her name but she had colored eyes out on the deck. She a smile all the time. She was courteous, attentive and nice that is how it is suppose to be. I love the buffet from here and the mimosas of course The variety of food choices that they offer is spectacular. After Sunday I will go again.
