I’ve had my taxes done here for several years now from a friend referring me. Always one time, thorough, and personable. Marianne is great!

We work with Tom. He’s competent and does a good job for us. He straightened out some pretty complicated IRS issues for us which I would have screwed up royally. Of course, each service costs money which could become expensive if you have out of the ordinary situations. He’s very straightforward and by the book so I don’t worry about him taking chances with my deductions. I had another CPA who pushed it so close to the line that I always worried about an audit.
I would like more tax planning advice and a bit more time to review my taxes prior to filing, but other than that, he does a solid job and he’s trustworthy (an important thing when someone is working on your taxes).

This is really a 0 star review but since Unilocal doesn’t accept 0 star, 1 star it is.
We are a current client of Tom (although Danny, another CPA, actually works on our return. Note that they never asked for our permission — the front desk basically just tells you that «Danny is working on your return.») and have been using them for the second year. Very disappointing services overall for how much they charge ($ 750 for 2011 taxes).
They take a rather laissez faire attitude in their approach and will not go out of their way to look for deductions or provide tax saving strategies for the upcoming year.
There is never any proactive follow-​up after the yearly meeting. Even once you sent them all the additional information they requested, no one from their office will let you know whether they have received them and what else they need. YOU (the client) have to be the one who calls and follows-​up.
In this year’s draft review (which you have to beg to get one in time), I found numerous omissions and mistakes. It’s completely up to the client to cross the t’s and dot the i’s. It’s too late for us to switch accountants now and we’re just going to bite the bullet and file with them for 2012.
But I wouldn’t suggest becoming a client if you don’t want to pay an accountant’s rate with level of service of a basic Enrolled Agent (EA) not to mention the time you spend reviewing EVERYTHING.
