Skin Care Atelier

I’ve been seeing Marie for years. I can’t remember how long, but she is just fantastic and wonderful! Once you get used to seeing her, you won’t go to anyone else. You get so used to her great treatments. She is very professional and a very kind, caring person and does 110 percent. I introduced my husband to her, and now he’s been a client for years. We both look forward our treatments and don’t skip them. Update on products too, which really helps. What more than I say.

I have been to Maria at Skin Care Atelier for a few years now as often as I can. She is from Poland and is a fantastic person in general and she does the most magnificent facial I have ever had. She extracts and works all kinds of magic on my skin. It glows for months after I see her– she really knows what she is doing and can also educate you. I hesitate to even let anyone know how fantastic she is because then she will book up even faster than she already does! :)

I’ve been coming to Skin Care Atelier for many years for waxing and facials. The minute that you step inside, you immediately feel relaxed as the lobby area is dimly lit, with aromatic candles, a mini Zen waterfall, and soft music playing. **Cell phones must be turned off as soon as you enter to preserve the quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
There are comfortable couches with plush pillows, and ample reading materials to browse through while you wait. A dish of candies (mints or chocolates) is also available for a sugar fix.
The lobby and all of the rooms are very clean and tidy.
Maria is absolutely the best! She’s incredibly experienced and thorough with all of her services, and uses all quality products. She has such a patient and gentle disposition, which is perfect for the type of work she does. Even though appointments are 30 minutes, I wish they were longer because Maria is so easy to talk to, and incredibly personable. She has a pleasant disposition with a lovely smile and sense of humor. Even though I live in SF and work in Oakland, I don’t hesitate to drive down to San Mateo, all because of Maria. She keeps her own appointment book, so be sure to make one well in advance (as she books quickly). If she doesn’t answer, leave a message, and she’ll get back to you later in the day or within 24 hours. Her rates are also reasonable, too.
It’s in great location in San Mateo (away from El Camino), and in a complex shared with other businesses. Just outside of Skin Care Atelier, there’s also a quaint little courtyard with plants that Maria tends to.
