We offer 24 hr service, and we can tow pretty much anything. Give us a call and we’ll take care of it. We also tow for Police departments and as a result some people leave our facility unhappy because it is expensive to get a car out of impound. We do our best to explain the circumstances to everyone that has had their car towed by the police but ultimately, it was not our fault that the car was towed in the first place. I’m sorry that this upsets some customers but we do provide excellent service to our customers that choose to use us and to the police departments that use us as well.

Red Line Towing is family owned, and dedicated to putting the customers first. We’ve been serving the peninsula since 1989, and plan on serving it for as long as possible.

My name is Anthony Atkins and I am the owner here at Red Line Towing. I’ve been in the towing field since I was a teenager. A lot of changes have taken place in the towing industry in the last decade. But one thing that remains the same, is that Red Line Towing is completely focused on customer satisfaction. We do whatever it takes to make your time with us as pleasant as possible. Clean, polite drivers, along with clean trucks are the future for this company. You won’t find a greasy driver in a Red Line tow truck. Instead, you will find a polite, well mannered, clean driver who takes pride in their work, and the way they look.

The owner of the service may be a good individual, however the answering service he employs to manage his logistics was not. Unfortunately, the service is a huge part of the customer experience (quoting, collecting information, communications) so it dramatically affects the level of service provided. The young woman with whom I spoke put forth a incredibly low level of effort to address our needs and help get someone out to help us (although the driver was supposedly available). She was extraordinarily rude and disrespectful when asked simple questions that were intended by us to help clarify the challenging circumstances around our case and help save the driver time. It was as if I had offended her by calling her and asking her to do her job that morning. When I asked the name of the company she worked for (she made it clear she did not work for the service directly), she refused to tell me and hung up on me. I was stunned. Have never been treated like this in all of my years. I have no idea whether this is an individual HR problem or reflective of a bigger issue, but this has to be the worst customer service encounter of all time. Sad for a company that seems to have pretty happy customers otherwise :(

We needed some help transporting an extremely heavy fork lift from Redwood City to San Jose for a job we were doing there, and we needed a solution at the last minute. The folks at Red Line scheduled a flatbed pickup for the very next day!
They showed up exactly on time, loaded the forklift quickly and securely, and we were done with our job and back at my shop in about half the time I was expecting it would take.
Their pricing was right what we expected, plus, we saved so much in our own time and labor costs that it was a net positive all the way around.
We liked them so much, we used them again two weeks later!

Sleazy business and people. Had motorcycle towed and stored one night. Charges me for two hours (should not have taken one complete hour if) and a ridiculous storage fee for it sitting in a dirt lot.

My car broke down on the 101 Northbound at around 10:30pm on a Monday night and these guys sent a truck out to my location in under 25 minutes! I was in a tricky spot right off the 92 ramp and he was able to find me no problem, dolly my car up (wouldnt go neutral so had to be dollied) and had me taken care of from call-​to-​service center in under 45 minutes! Great service, very friendly driver as well! Thanks a million guys.

Ran something over on El Camino in San Mateo and cut the right rear tire on my BMW. Spare was flat too. Just my luck!!! Redline was close by. Lady that answered was a little curt and sounded stressed but she got all my info within about a minute, she put me on hold for about two mins and said they would have a truck out to me within 10 minutes. Anthony (the owner) showed up in about 5 mins and got me to the tire shop at what I felt was a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend Redline Towing to anyone I know. Thanks for being so fast and professional Anthony.

Just got off the line with a Dispatcher-​who had to keep asking me about the details of where I was, and what I was driving, as she kept putting me on hold and essentially was trying to GroundHog day me off the phone. After 5 mins of jumping back and forth-​she came back with a quote of 170.00 for 3.5 miles on a flat bed. I suspect the ratings are manipulated –4.5 stars? no way…

I needed my Corvette towed earlier this evening …“Brett” the driver was cool, and unloaded my Vette and put it in My parking space. Minus the star, because I thought he was going to jumpstart it since the battery is low. Good service!

Today, I decided to eat lunch in my car (and charge my phone at the same time — doh!) and when I went to start the car, it just made a clicking sound. I noticed a Red Line Towing truck parked near me and I crossed my fingers that I had enough cash in my pocket to request a jump. I knew calling for road side assistance would just be a hassle and delay me, so I was willing to pay to skip that whole ordeal.
I spotted Anthony and Cole returning to their vehicle, lunch in hand, and I asked if they had jumper cables and could help me. They were so kind and jumped my car in such a jiffy! AT NO CHARGE! I am so thankful that 1) we have the same great taste in deli’s so we were in the same location and 2) that they were willing to help me on their lunch break at no cost.

Lady answering the phone is terrible. Doesn’t answer questions with enough information. She’s very snappy & sounds irritated. Her lack of information cost me $ 1200 instead of $ 200. Mind you I called multiple times trying to get more information only to be given the wrong answer over and over. TERRIBLE!!!

I LOVE RED TOWING — they were super reliable and they came superfast. My car got stuck on the freeway and, unfortunately, I have Allstate for Motor Club and they were estimating a 4 hour wait — who has 4 hours to wait???
I found Red Towing via Unilocal and called them and boom! 30 minutes later they were towing my car!
These guys are legit, friendly and super awesome!

In June I was involved in a car accident across the bay. Since I was needing to be towed back to San Mateo, I called Red Line. The driver got to me in San Leandro in less than 30 minutes! I was expecting to have to wait a while, but I just had enough time to walk into a Taco Bell to get ice for my hand, and they pulled up. The tow truck and driver were very clean & professional.

This is a great towing service in San Mateo. It took them about 15 – 20 min to get to my location. The price was reasonable for a trip from San Mateo to Redwood City. The owner was really nice as well. Will use again!

THIS IS A SCAM OPERATION!!! These guys have a dubious deal with the San Mateo or San Carlos authorities. They towed my car (a 1997 Mercedes with ~200K+ miles in my daughter’s possession), they demanded a Title (i was traveling on business and had to order a Title copy). I got no calls or notifications of the process. They sold my car (Lien company only sent a letter). They then referred a bill for $ 3,448 to a collections agency (incl. $ 258 for towing). They reported they made no money selling my car (it was damaged but had material and parts). They are charging ~$ 80 per DAY when auto storage in Redwood City is ~$ 110 per MONTH. Civic authorities are probably earning some money from this as well so it shouldn’t be a surprise that they perhaps feel this is fair.
BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND THIS SCAM THEY ARE RUNNING.

It’s never a good experience to have your car breakdown and be stranded on the side of the road. But its good to know that Red Line is there to help you back on your feet.
I used Red Line twice in the past two months and both experience have been great. My v-​belt ripped apart, clutch fan stopped and the car started overheating. I had Red Line on my cell (you should too) and Anthony showed up promptly to take my baby to the mechanic shop. Anthony is easy to work with, quick to respond and professional. I trusted him with my BMW and I will definitely be using RL Towing again if needed (knock on wood).

So I went out for my birthday and had a little too much to drink so instead of endangering those in the road, I decided to get my car towed home.
What struck me at first about Redline was their speed. Literally within five minutes after I called, Anthony was hooking up my car and five minutes later we were on the road headed home. This guy knows his stuff like a guy that’s been in the business since he could legally drive a car. There was no messing around with this guy– he was fast and gentle with my grand prix.
Second thing I noticed was how clean he was and how clean his truck was. Tow truck drivers can be rough and dirty, but this guy was clean, had all his teeth and spoke English like a scholar. Professionalism score alone gets 5 stars from me! I highly recommend Redline!

My Honda CRV had about 200,000 miles on it, and some of the coolant hoses started to crack. My coolant leaked while I was on my way home during the weekday and overheated. I got the car home but had a busy work week so I got a ride to work with a friend.
AAA wouldn’t pick up my car and bring it to the mechanic if I wasn’t there. Anthony from Red Line went above and beyond and found a way to get it done. He let me pay over the phone, got the car to the mechanic (AWD), and I was able to pick up my car without disruption to my work week. The price was really fair…
I’ve had experiences before where tow guys damage my car and I spend weeks on the phone with claims… I have Anthony saved on my phone…

I have been saved by Anthony of Red Line Towing four times already. Twice my car broke down and had to be towed to the mechanic (I do need a new car, don’t I?). The towing experience couldn’t have been more easy and painless. Anthony showed up promptly and handled the whole thing very professionally.
The other two times I actually locked myself out of the car (got only one set of keys) and didn’t know what to do. Do I call a locksmith? I figured I would give Anthony a call and see if he could help. Sure enough, he had the tools and the experience necessary to unlock my Volvo and and get me back inside my car in less than 30 minutes after I called him.
If you need someone who you can trust in the towing business, look no further. Red Line is professional, timely and reliable. They take pride in their work and I am so happy to have found them!

Anthony, the owner of this company took the time to come and speak to our business class at Canada College. His presentation on Red Line Towling left me with no doubt in my mind as to who I would call when I need a tow. He comes across as extremely professional and kind. He has a military background and is programmed to be on time!
Their drivers are well kempt, not grungy and stinky (No offense to other driver’s that smoke in their truck and show their cracks). They take pride in being well mannered, polite, and professional. Program Red Line into your cell phone, you never know when you might need a reliable person to bail you out!
