Description

Specialties

The focus of my private psychotherapy practice is helping individual adult women, families, and teen. Toward this end, I’ve been providing family counseling and teen counseling services since 1999.

It’s not uncommon for parents of teens to feel isolated and unable to find answers for the problems they’re experiencing in their families. I believe adolescents and their parents can have a loving connection, and I’ve helped numerous families achieve just that.

I help families discover long-term solutions that bring families together and provide relief from emotional pain.

In addition to the counseling and psychotherapy services I provide, I also provide presentations to parents at local middle and high schools, and have provided presentations to Hillsdale High School, Crystal Springs Uplands School, and Notre Dame Elementary School, among others.

History

Established in 2006.

I have been in private practice at this location since 2006, but have been counseling and therapy services to children, families, and groups since 1999.

Before opening my private practice, I worked in both middle and elementary schools and spent six years practicing psychotherapy in a non-profit clinic. During my formal training as a therapist, I counseled diverse populations in a variety of settings, counseled individuals, couples, and families, and facilitated groups of children and adults.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

License # MFC 42 958

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) in the state of California who has been practicing psychotherapy for over a decade.

I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology in 2001 and received my Marriage and Family Therapist License in 2006. As a therapist, I believe that each client deserves to be respected and valued. I create a warm and caring environment where clients get the support they need to uncover old patterns, make changes, and learn new coping skills.

My path to becoming a licensed therapist has taken some time and seen some lengthy tangents. Along the way I’ve been a teacher, wife, mother, and volunteer, all experiences that have shaped my outlook on life and my current work.

Each client who comes into my office can expect to be treated with respect and compassion.
